bad olesterol but your good cholesterol and iglytecerides are still out of line? then you may not be seeing the whole picture. ask your doctor about trilipix. if you're at high risk of heart disease and taking a statin to lower bad cholesterol, along with diet, adding trilipix can lower fatty triglycerides and raise good cholesterol to help improve all three cholesterol numbers. trilipix has not been shown to prevent heart attacks or stroke more than a statin alone. trilipix is not for everyone, including people with liver, gallbladder,or seve, or nursing women. tell your doctor about all the medicines you take and if you are pregnant or may become pregnant. blood tests are needed before and during treatment to check for liver problems. contact your doctor if you develop unexplained muscle pain or weakness, as this can be a sign of a rare but serious side effect. this risk may be increased when trilipix is used with a statin. if you cannot afford your medication, call 1-866-4-trilipix for more information.

6:19 pm
quiet compared to last night. but coming back here on friday. let's take a look at the three-day trend. to pick one of the three weekend days, you can count one of those weekend days. i pick saturday. like the smallest chance of rain. temperatures, about the same. upper 80s to around 90. the best chance is late tonight. low temperatures, upper 60s to around 70s. not quite as humid as last night. but still uncomfortable. certainly not as bad as the humidity department and last night. during the day tomorrow. a mixture of sunshine and clouds and thunderstorms, some of them could be kind of strong again. including severe weather to keep an eye on that on friday and they are ranging between 88 and out there at 6:05. that is bringing in slightly less humid air. i emphasize the slightly part of it. but they are still in the as opposed mis.
6:20 pm
as like yesterda s.y, li yesterday, feeling better. and the stationary front off to the northwest. a little disturbance in the upper level of the atmosphere, coming out of the ohio valley and tracking into the mountains right now. producing showers and thunderstorms, moving in our direction. like i said, the chance of rain that will increase throughout the night tonight and even a chance that some of this could be left overin the morning for the friday morning commute. the best chance of the thunderstorms on friday that will be in the afternoon.ye and other numbers, the low 80s out west. 82 in wind chester and 84 at the air station. once again, everyone will drop back into the upper 60s by tomorrow morning.
6:21 pm
they are traveling out there in the northwest -- northwest flow that we have been talking about on friday. seven-day forecast, they look like this. a 20 or 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. a better chance on sunday. looking like late in the day on sunday, another system comes. in another one on tuesday. and then, the temperatures, they really are not going to change all that much all the way through the middle and the end of next week. we'll be stuck in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. no return of the same kind of weather pattern we had earlier in the area where we were setting record lows in the 50s and 60s. that kind of stuff. just typical weather. at least no big heat waves on the horizon. still not talking at, you know, mid-90s and the temperatures like we can at this time of the year. >> all right, let's hope that, well, all of them are putting on extra sunscreen today for the redskins training camp. it's day one. and they are out there with the latest. >> well, you know, first of
6:22 pm
all, sweating and getting sun burnt is part of the annual ritual of the training camp. diving in head first. they have sent an early message. brian, it is to the veterans, to step up your game to lose your job. >> money doesn't matter. you know, they need to do that to do that all season. that is the most of the day. >> we'll tell you what he had to say about being, well, a reserve now. day one of traill e.forc ca nefull force. nine sports coming up.
6:23 pm
6:24 pm
6:25 pm
welcome back to redskins training camp. first two practice segs, they are in the books. the good news is unlike last year, no one got seriously hurt. remember, last year, they got lost for the season. and on the very first snap of the training camp. although that we cannot say that no one's feelings got hurt on day number one, the veteran wide receiver who ended last year as the starter, he begins this season as a reserve. and despite his salary, he has demoted them for the slot position and he is counting on one of the sophomore receivers. to step up with more production. now, they said today that they intend to fight to get their job back. >> it is what it is. for me, i have been challenged. i take it oath way that they come. we'll have them at the top or the bottom and the opportunity. my thing is the opportunity. i still have that opportunity to be the starter and that's the one i'm going to approach it. approaching the challenge and everyone that is out here, watch me. i'll get it done.
6:26 pm
now, as for thes a thetics of this strain -- -- and because of the training camps, they issued that. everyone was wearing different colors and different outfits. we didn't look like a team. now, burgundy tops for all the defensive players. everybody, they are wearing burgundy shorts and no daisy dukes for chris cooley. i think we can all be thankful for that. police welcome in my partner, former redskins pro, brian mitchell. left turn start with this demotion. we all know that he has not been productive. but are you surprised that even before the first snap of the training camp that they demote him and essentially get his job to duke two guys who have done nothing in this league? >> that is something that surprised me the most. the veteran. not playing to the caliber. but what has anyone else do to demote him and move him in front of them? absolutely nothing. they could not get on the field and as they say, they could not learn the playbook.
6:27 pm
>> we hope that they are healthy this year and that they can live up to the second round hype. but so far, they haven't. they are under the center. we know that they have talked about a bigger leadership role. a make it or break it yore. and a contract year for him. what are you seeing or hearing about him that you like or don't like? >> the fact that he came out here to speak in the leadership role and also, the little time i looked on the field, they seem very short. they are going up there, playing like he has done in all of the defensive end, the second year, he normally takes a big step. he does that this year and he's in the driver seat. that is in six years. we hope that they have some consistency this year. they are in their own bed and i thought that they were going to like this rule as the former player. not at all. now, you show that you're a team. you took a major step back by letting them go home.
6:28 pm
you need to understand that we have guys out there and they don't know exactly what to do. you need to keep them out there to have a better team. >> interestingly, they are a starter on this team. staying with the young guys. for the first couple of practices, very upset. i feel like he thinks he had a bad practice. is that the kind of professionalism we're going to hear from them? >> the other guy with that cap burr and that type of money is getting upset because he had the practice. the rest of the guys are going to work a lot harder. you have other guys that are doing that as well. >> they are all excited about that here this year. because they know that they are going to get more looks because of all the double teams. real quick before we go, the national play a day game today. get away game in milwaukee.
6:29 pm
and we picked it up, tied at three for them and jason. ryan, making the play on the ground ball. coming home. so now, he does not block the play. he is safe. they score there and they tack on three more. they are winning. he did take his 1th home run in the lost for the nationals. by the way, a note on the orioles with the trade deadlines approaching tomorrow. they trade their closer. that is for a couple of prospects. back here in camp, day one. everyone is healthy. he is given the analysis and they will be back to do it again tomorrow. for brian, i'm brett, live at redskins park. back to you. >> we'll send some fans out there for you. >> we'll just keep you cool. >> keep you cool. brian looks cool. we'll send some fans. [ laughter ] all right, thank you guys. >> those guys are always too cool. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast before we go. a good chance of thunderstorms on friday with a high near 86. some of those could be strong. we'll keep an eye on that. >> that's it for us. the cbs evening news is next.
