i'm bruce johnson, thank you for joining us. 17 local men have been caught this the sting operation, they allegedly cruiseed the internet looking for sex with minors. local firefighter is among those facing charges after montgomery county police officer pretented to be a 16- year-old prostitute. >> reporter: police say the under cover officer posed as a 16-year-old prostitute on craigslist and referred suspects to the social te my s 17 defendants caught the bait including a montgomery county firefighter. he along with the rest of the defendants who range in age of 20 to 56 years old face felony charges of soliciting sex from a minor. >> it's happening right now,

it's more common than what people believe. >> reporter: one of the defendants agreed to talk with us as long as we didn't show his face. he explains why he turned to the internet for sex. >> i wasn't getting what i needed out of my relationship. rather than leaving e person i went out to seek validation and attraction from other people. >> have you done this before with a 15-year-old? >> never. >> reporter: he says he is a sex addict and didn't realize the consequences. >> i didn't think i was doing anything worse than what anybody else that does. i department think i was committing a felony, i have a job and a house. >> it seems like an excuse because you got caught. what would you like to tell people? >> that i needed help before i got caught. i needed to get caught to get the help that i needed.

>> these are adults preying on minors for a business practice if you will. for sexual abuse. >> reporter: soliciting sex for a minor could carry a 10 year jail sentence and put on a sex offender register. 9 people are dead following a midair collision over the hudson river. a plane crashed in to a tourist helicopter sending them in to the water. three bodies have been recovered. authorities believe there are no survivors. rick johnson has more on the story from new york. >> reporter: paramedics rushed to the hudson river saturday afternoon, but there was no one to treat. >> there was a puff of smoke and a boom. >> reporter: it was the sound of a small plane and a sightseeing helicopter colliding and plunging in to the river. this photo shows the collision

that severed a wing. rescuers realized there was no hope for all nine people on board. >> this has changed from a rescue to recovery mission. >> reporter: five italians were touring manhattan. this woman saw relatives where the chopper took off. >> they said to me, there are some relatives inside the helicopter. >> reporter: the small plane left teterboro with three people on board including a child. a pilot on the ground saw the plane moving towards the chopper, he tried to radio both pilots to warn them but it wasn't enough to prevent the accident. the collision sent debris ranking in to the river and onto the streets of hoboken new jersey. teams located the wreckage of the helicopter and recovered three bodies but the murky

water and fast current made for difficult searching. it was a different scene compared to january when a plane landed safely in the river. it was dubbed the miracle on the hudson, there would be no miracle on this summer afternoon. >> closer to our area two people are dead after their small airplane crashed in carroll county. authorities say the plane came down in a corn field just minutes after taking off from the key mar air park this morning. small aircraft is a two seat we are engine and propeller on the back of the plane. . >> we were able to see that it was so much -- to find out they didn't make it, it's devastating because they are people that you know. >> the victims have been identified tonight. faa is investigating the cause of the crash. delays for metro ride is resulting from the deadly crash

in june, an hour ago crews started replacing tracks in the area. lindsey mastisi is there now. >> reporter: they did begin replacing the track circuits at 10:00 here at tacoma station. trains here are sharing a single track. that is the way it will remain for the rest of the month, the work will begin at 10:00 every night starting next weekend and the weekend after that t fort to the totten station will close. workers will have to use a free shuttle bus, all the inconvenience doesn't seem to be making many riders upset. >> i think after the upset, everybody that has to deal with subways has patience. probably 51-49. i think they are going to be
