up with duck tape and then they threw it in a dumpster. the pup managed to chew a hole in the bag and stuck her head out. neighbors heard her. animals took in the dog and they discovered more abuse. >> whether or not it was a dog fight or she was attacked by dogs, she definitely has puncture wounds all over her head and neck. >> police are now trying to find out who did this. meanwhile, the officers have named the pup trooper and vets are amazed at just how well she's recovering and how gentle she is considering what she's been through. >> wow. of course pit bulls can be aggressive as well. police believe two pit pull terriers are responsible for the death of a 20-year-old man in leesburg. authorities were called to the 100-block of plazatrtee around 2:00 this afternoon. they found fourt dogs altogether in the house. digital correspondent lindsey mastis has the story. >> reporter: the dogs were taken out of the home and brought here to the loudoun

county anil control. a a family member went to checkn carter delaney this afternoon. when he failed to come to the door, they called police. his body was found in the basement. >> one dog was found deceased in the house. a smaller breed dog. another dog was alive found in a cage. >> reporter: authorities believe two american pit bull terriers are responsible for delaney's death but they are waiting for the results from an autopsy before they make their final determination. meanwhile, they are calling the death suspicious. a friend of the family says they are having a hard time coping with the tragedy. >> dogs can turn no matter how calm they can be. dogs can turn. and everybody should be worried about that. and try toe be as protective as en f cdsri'seyenrids haved pavte their condolences on facebook. one lit iese i you, man. uanyolr wilot bese wis d. tebout the attack claiming deleyan m may he been trying to protect his mom's

june 23rd, the day after the accident. >> metro says because the incident on march 2nd happened at low speeds, this is not a close call as the post reported. the train operator prevented a collision with the train about 500 feet away by hurting the emergency stop button. an unrelated incident, this one deadly, has led metro to ck.er a sanetsty d dow a wst tit hnd n the orangt minee mt next foheo urda next four days. most track workers will put maintenance work on hold. metro says this should not affect passenger service. new tonight, divers have located an 8th victim from the weekend's mid air crash of a plane and a helicopter over the hudson river. now, although they found this victim, they can't bring the body up because it is still lodged in the plane. in all, nine people were killed on saturday. on board the sightseeing helicopter were five italian tourists and a pilot. and today the mayor of new york

offering con dole enss to the -- condolences to the italian ambassador. he owes it to his country men to get to the bottom of what went wrong. >> i talked to the wives of one of the victims and she really was destroyed by the pain and she asked me, please, ambassador, try to know what is really truth about this tragedy. >> national transportation safety board chief declined to speculate about what might have caused the crash but she did say the investigation may take months. and now a follow-up on the massacre inside a woman's fitness class near pittsburgh. that gunman was already on police radar. the 48-year-old had been searched and let go by the police just a week before. he was questioned after a city bus passenger reported seeing a man with a grenade. but the witness couldn't identify him as that man. on august the 4th, as you'll

f i'm meteorologist topper shutt. after our 97 today, temps are going to be going down as we go by the week. we'll start with the forecast in approximate detail now. overnight partly cloudy, muggy. isolated storms are still possible. some of which could be rather hefty. low temps in the 70s. two little clusters, if you will, of thunderstorms develop. one went south of town, one went north of town. everything is across the bay.

we do have thunderstorm warnings across those in the bay as these storms push to the north of east ton. in is where they are now. we're looking at a live picture headed towards north beach. but the bulk of the activity is across the bay. that too had be out of here in the next hour as everything pushes across. back to the computer we go. we'll talk about -- my, things went really fast. it's already the seven day.
