president obama is in phoenix today to discuss members of the foreign war. but outside the phoenix convention center. both sides of the healthcare reform, they are being debated. good evening, i'm aubrey foster. lesli foster is off tonight. >> the healthcare battle facing the growing resistance. they are signaling a major key on one of their opponents of the healthcare reform. that's the public area for them. this week, they seem to be saying there is no other option. they have more. >> now, wait a minute, wait a minute. >> after weeks of congressional town halls, going wild. the obama administration is now keeping their options open on the healthcare reforms.

specifically on the crucial question of whether americans should have the option of joining the government run plan. the so-called public option. >> this is a legitimate debate to have. all i'm saying is though that the public options, whether we have it or we don't have it, it is not the entirety of the healthcare reform. and this is just one sliver of it. >> the white house, they are spending less time pushing the public option and more time talking about injecting all of the competition into the healthcare marketplace. the drive down costs to give americans more choices. and the fact of the matter is, they are not the votes that the united states senate for the public options. and they never have been. so now to continue to chase that rabbit, i think that it is just a wasted effort. >> the north dakota senator is offering one area to establish the nonhealthcare cooperatives like the rural co-ops that have existed in the u.s. for decades. the land of lakes is a

cooperative hardware for them. and this is a model that works. they are not government runed and government controlled. and it is a membership run and the membership controlled. >> the president is stuck, keeping the public auction that woulding anger some of them and the democrats in congress that insisted the government run plans for them and the private insures out of business. >> i still think that we should have a bipartisan solution. but what i can't tolerate is the government plans. >> jumping would disappoint the liberals. the public auction as defeat. >> if they back away from them, is that healthcare reform? >> it is absolutely not healthcare reform. we need that form to improve the lives of the families and the communities everywhere. health and human services, they said that a public auction is not essential. they are waiting to see what the senate finance committee negotiates. and mr. they have been more focused on a co-op, not for profit co-ops as a competitor as to the straight

they discriminate against gays. in the paper, the administration urged them to appeal the law, but say in the meantime, they will continue to defend it. and the cash for clunkers program, they have been a big success ever since they launched last month. but the program, they starting to cost problems for the dealerships that accepted the clunkers. that's the problem. >> the government, they said that it is the federal rebate for them. and within 10 days. and the cash for clunkers, they are going on for nearly a lot. and excuse me, seven weeks and several dealerships in our area. they say they only got their first payments last week. and all of these are clunkers. >> the cash for clunkers program, they have been a big hit for them and the automotive groups in silver springs. >> it's going on very well. we've done nearly 1300 total. 350 friends, and they are kept right here in this storage lot.

remanence of anna. i think that anna is going to remain a low pressure system, tracking essentially between cuba and miami. and then move up the west coast to florida. that could produce some big rains for florida and maybe some severe weather for florida on thursday into friday. right now, showers and thunderstorms back into the mountains. that's about it. no showers for tonight in the immediate metro area. better chance tomorrow, even a better chance on wednesday. temperatures, they mentioned it was hot. still 90 downtown. 88 out there and 87 out there. cooler by the bay. 85 for them. take a look at this, and tea are1. and that is at this hour. 88 in wind chester. and tomorrow morning, well, partly cloudy, very warm. 70s and 80s. winds southwest at 10. once again, temperatures are very close to 90. by the lunchtime. by the afternoon, partly cloudy and hot. a few thunderstorms, high temperatures, they are 90 to 95. and winds, they are west, southwest at 10. and you can notice the sunset, days are getting shorter.
