to help the auto industry and consumers has some saying show me the money. armando trull is live in bethesda with more. armando? >> reporter: well, don't feel so bad for dealers because some of these dealers are getting rebates back from automakers who are eager to get people on the show room before the wheels come off on the cash for clunkers program. all good things must come toed and and at 8 p.m. eastern cash for clunkers reaching thenal of the road. uncle am cease handout has generated a half million new car sales. >> it is yen rating a lot of sales. >> it was a positive reaction to the program. >> reporter: even if customers are getting as much as $4,500 for rebates, many dealers say uncle sam has been slow in reimbursing them for their rebates. >> it was taking hours to transmit one. >> getting a recognition as far as is it approved or rejected.

the field and when i got there one of my brother was incoherent at the time i tried to speak to him. >> reporter: they were quarantined after four nurses became ill. the er is open now again this morning. police are asking for your help in locating a missing teen. the 13-year-old was last seen on sunday at her family's home in silver spring. police don't think she is a victim of foul play but if you have seen her you are asked to call authorities. a former bush administration official is implying politics may have played a role the terror level. tom ridge says he was pressured by other members in the bush administration to raise the terror alert level just before the 2004 presidential election. ridge says he objected to the move and in the end the alert level was not changed.

shirlington would cause problem. loudoun county board of supervisors is looking at a new proposal, a hospital corporation of america wants to build a 164-bed facility along route 50 in loudoun county. the company estimates the $195 million hospital would create 500 health care jobs. if the proposal is approved, the hospital would open in december of 2015. a funeral mass for journalist robert novak is scheduled to take place today. the political commentator died after brain cancer. the mass will be at st. patrick catholic church on tenth street in northwest washington the fairfax county public schools three strikes policy is out. under the policy students got an automatic f if they missed three classes in a quarter without a legitimate excuse. by administrators say he policy, one of the strictest in our area just wasn't working so it is being discontinued this fall.

welcome book. training camp is over for the redskins an football has been on everyone's mind, that is except one player's family who used training to help their own cause. on the field, players are passionate about the game, but off of it they are crazy about their cars. at this training camp they are giving their rides extra tlc. a pitt stop business. >> it is never dull here. kind of fun to play with cars and keeping them clean. >> 50 players every week they want their cars cleaned. >> reporter: portis is more than a client but the brains behind the operation. >> i'm portis ' brother. he is always cleaning his cars a home an he came with a brilliant idea to come and
