seminary. already a good amount of volume but no significant delays but they are on the way. 95 from the prince william parkway to lorton, we are tracking that trip and fining the drive time holding at ten minutes. andrea, over to you. we want to get to a story happening right now. this is in montgomery county. it is a two-lay harm fire in a r towo d wood street off of route 29 north of white oak. we just learned that firefighters have this one under control. a fire in one townhouse began 90 minutes ago and spread to another. fortunately no one was hurt and these are live pictures of that fire. you can see the unit still on the scene there. but again we have been told that firefighters have knocked this one down and no one has been injured. car dealer sheriffs will be busy this weekend. that's because the government's cash for clunkers program ends on monday. digital correspondent armando trull is live in bethesda with more on theolair-minute rush.

armando? >> behind me is a trailer full of automobiles just pulled up to the dealer lot. it seems cash for clunkers is spurring a lot of sales and a lot of hard up dealerships. all good things must come to an end and on monday at 8 p.m. eastern, cash for clunkers reaches the end of the road. uncle sam's handout has gemmed up a half million new car sales. >> it is generating a lot of sales. >> from that point it was a positive reaction that we had to the program. po>>re rter: but even if customers are getting as much as $4,800 in rebates for their gas guzzling battle wagon, dealers say uncle sam has been slow in reimbursing them for the redates. >> it was taking hours to transmit one. >> struggling to get a recognition as far as is this approved or rejected. haven't gotten a lot of feedback. >> reporter: but feedback from consumers is loud and clear. the $3 billion in rebates was scooped up in record time. gm and ford decided to ramp up

production and bring back some laid off workers because of the program. andrea, don't feel too bad for the dealers who haven't been paid by uncle sam yet, automakers are advancing the money to dealerships to make sure they keep the customers inside the show rooms and keep the money flowing before the tap turned off on this monday at 8 p.m. live armando trull for 9 news now and wusa9.com. a mystery in queen anne county, maryland. what do we know? 12 high school football player and two coaches had to be hospitalized. the question is what made them sick? sky 9 was over kent island high school yesterday afternoon. during practice the players developed cramps and nausea. all signs point to heat exhaustion but a brother of two sick player says nurses told him otherwise. >> the nurse ruled out it was heat related. she said there is no way that 15 people will react to the heat like that at the same

time. so they are giving him an ekg exam, it hong kongs your heart and they will take them back and quarantine them to see if there is any chemicals involved in it. >> reporter: force nurses at anne arundel medical center got sick also. for now officials say it appears to be the fault of heat and humidity. there will be a candle light vigil tonight for a university of mary washington soccer player who collapsed and died on the field. 20-year-old preston hurten died on tuesday. he was getting water when he died. it appeared he died of an enlarged heart. an apology just isn't enough. now one maryland lawmaker wants an ethics investigation in to delegate jon cardin's marriage proposal. the concern is he used a police marine unit and police helicopter in the stunt at baltimore's inner harbor. they are calling for the

investigation. jon cardin is a democrat. the recession is taking a toll on a lot of peep. for some, financial hardship can be too much to bear. that's where a group like crisis link comes in. it is a crisis hotline operating in northern virginia. it has seen a spike in calls this year, especially from loudoun county. one paid staff member and a team of volunteers answer the phones. one volunteer says it can take its toll. >> sad to hear the situations that people are going through on a daily basis but i feel it is an important thing that we are canning here. >> reporter: the phone number for crisis link is 800-273- talk. it is open 24 hours a day from northern virginia you can also call 211. five after the hour. time for a living smart report

we are definitely below speed here. this stretches from 495 over to seminary and finally to wrap it up we give you 95 in virginia from 123 to lorton. using the brakes and a good amount of volume approaching the fairfax county parkway. now, over to andrea. we want to bring you new information about a two-alarm fire in montgomery county. sky 9 over heatherwood drive. this is just off of route 29. you can see the damage from an early-morning fire. it began a little before 5:00 a.m. on that end unit. claim flames on one home spread to another. we just learned in the last few minutes that three firefighters suffered minor injuries. they are treated at a nearby hospital. the fire forced two families out of their homes. no one else was hurt the red cross is on the way to help them out. after monday your old beat up car will be worth less. that's because the government is ending the cash for clunkers program. digital correspondent, armando

trull is live at a dealership in bethesda which will be busy this weekend. armando? >> that's right, andrea. the dealership hasn't opened yet but behind me the trailer you see has been unloading cars all morning. it's the kind of activity that hasn't been seen on lots until the cash for clunkers program went in to affect. the program runs our of gas next monday at p.m. eastern. by most accounts it has been one of the most successful government initiatives in decades. the dealers offered buyers as much as $4,500 for their gas guzzlers and then uncle sam would pay them back. the first part worked fine. a half million cars have been sold so far. dealers say getting their money back from uncle sam not so fine. >> i have done 1300 and have been paid on five total. >> reporter: five cars. >> five cars total. >> the bankers are calling and saying how are things going, are you getting paid on these

three firefighters are recovering from minor injuries after this blaze. flames tore through two town homes this morning. this is along featherwood street off of route 29 in white oak, maryland. the families living in these homes were able to make it out safely. the last weekend to take advantage of the cash for clunkers program. it runs our of money monday night at 8 p.m. kings coe mignon is unveiling the intimidator 305 gig coaster. it will have a 305 foothill becoming the tallest and fastest coaster on the east coast. it will open next year. well, all of this humidity
