the beltway. over to you. this morning, shuttleis still effort bound. thunderstorms popped up unexpectedly last night. the storms were easing but not fast enough to try the launch. they will try again tomorrow. they expect 70% chance of good weather for the liftoff. the fight over wal-mart maybe over. orange county leaders approved the retailers plans to build near the wilderness battlefield early this morning. armando trull is in our information center with more. armando. >> good morning. >> supporters said the county needed the jobs and tax revenues. opponents said the wal-mart would be built on the graves of civil war dead. the majority of speakers supported bringing a superwal-

mart to locust grove. they say the residents of the community would benefit from the jobs, tax revenue and inexpensive shopping options. >> i think wal-mart does a lot of great things like putting money back in the school system and there's nothing out here. >> reporter: the store would be located near the wilderness battlefield, where grant and lee first fought and 29,000 soldiers lost their lives. >> they should be considerate enough not to do it where there is possibly civil war buried. >> reporter: they rejected the arguments of the historians and preservationists, middle east from out of town that said the big box store would hurt the historic site located on 2700- acres and didn't think it was necessary to consider a different location. they said it would bring hundreds of new jobs and a million dollars in tax

cornered the boy in a restroom at dick's sports goods store and wouldn't let him leave. investigators want to hear from anyone who thinks their child may have had contact with liggon. the justice department has picked john durham to investigate alleged mistreatment by cia employees or contractors. according to a report interrogators threatened to kill the children of khalid sheik mohammad if the u.s. came under more terror attacks. that is part of a report examining cia treatment of terror suspects. it was declassified as part of a lawsuit filed by the aclu. a new ruling concerning michael jackson increases the chances for criminal charges in his death. that story is coming up. plus, a reason to celebrate in a town which was devastated by a tornado. tourists may get the scare of their lives in one park

this week students have returned to a high school in iowa. last year a powerful tornado destroyed a third of the town including the school. rebuilding the school costs $19 million and there's a little more work left over the next few months. we say good morning to howard bernstein. what makes this day great. >> the humidity is down, we're

history. by a vote of 4-1 the orange county board of supervisors approved the super wal-mart for locust grove, even though the store will be located near a historic civil war battlefield. it agreed with most of the speakers who argued the big box store would bring needed jobs, tax revenue and inexpensive shopping options to the rural community of 32,000. >> more income, more jobs, more opportunities, more opportunities for kids. >> reporter: hundreds of civil war historian and preservationists, most from out of town had asked the county to reject wall mar or consider another -- wal-mart or consider another site further away from the historic battlefield preserve. >> it is overlooking the battlefield and during the time of the conflict that location was used as a hospital for both union and confederate. there are probably civil war dead buried on that property. >> reporter: but the board

his death his doctor gave him several drugs. the newly released document shows that conrad murray said he gave him doses throughout the night on june 25th in an intravenous drip because the 50- year-old entertainer could not fall asleep. when he was awake at 10:40 in the morning he gave him a sedative used for surgery in hospitals. he said that jackson repeatedly demanded it and peered -- feared the pop star was becoming addicted to it. he finally fell asleep and he stepped away less than two minutes and when he returned jackson had stopped breathing. dr. murray said he had been monitoring him with a pulse ox meter that was keeping track of his oxygen intake and pulse. according to the search warrant, they found seven prescriptions from three
