wusa9.com. $300, that's how much the delegate paid baltimore's police department for that marriage proposal stunt that landed him in some hot water. the cops stormed a boat that cotton was on with his fiance and conducted a phony raid two weeks ago at the baltimore inner harbor. that's when he made his marriage proposal. well, the whole thing raised quite a stink with some of the city state officials. aside from reimbursing the police department, he also apologized verbally. but much bigger trouble looming for the private fundraiser out there and other top democrats. he was arrested on tuesday for a bank fraud charge. right now, he's out of prison and under house arrest in his $20 million manhattan apartment. prosecutors alleged that he provided phony documents to get a $74 million loan. he served as a national finance chair for the presidential campaign and later raised money for presidential obama consider president o ball -- president obama. they are aiming that for the ur space shuttle discovery.

the 11:59 p.m. schedule launch time will be the third attempt this week. tuesday morning was scrubbed by the weather. yesterday's problem was a valve difficulty. well you're now likely to be carjacked in d.c. there were 600 carjackings in district of columbia in 2008. so far this year, there are only 200. a skwroeupt dc police -- a joint dc police task force is being credited for that. >> today, they graduated from an intensive six-month job program called training futures. it has a 90% success rate. several of the new graduates already have jobs like our niece, who is a new admissions coordinator for hc man care. >> i would get to the stumbling block in my position and it was because i did not have the basic skills that i needed to take me to that next level.

miles an hour in a 25. when he tried to stop the car, he says that the driver sped off. he did not unt thderoe d rntoer unseded roe corner to see the wrecked car, and the driver trying to run. >> well, he fell to the ground because of the injuries telling me there was a baby in the backseat of the car. >> reporter: he jumped into action and rescued the 8-month-old girl. the impact of the crash was so forceful that it knocked down this concrete pileline. and get this, throughout the entire ordeal, the baby was asleep. >> slept through the whole thing, which is a miracle. >> reporter: it was amazing to me that someone would leave a child in the car that's on fire, crashed on the side of the road. >> i have a daycare, so yeah, you know, it is very, well, very scary to know that there is people like that. >> reporter: not only does she take care of children here, but says that it could have been a lot worse as school and the prince william county had already started. that is early this morning. >> now, they are thanking them for their quick action. >> and he did the best that he could do because he had to

some of them will produce the heavy rain. time on that will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and now they will taper off. that is by friday evening and night. i can't promise a dry redskins game. but that should not be that, some consolation. showers and storms are possible on sunday. and the mid-80s on sunday. maybe the leftover shower. but still, the weekend not so bad. here is danny, the winds are 50 miles per hour. still a tropical storm. showing you this yesterday. we call them the spaghetti plop. that just means that each model is remitted by a color here. you can see the blinds, they are closer together than they have been in the past couple of days. so this takes it right over new england or a little west out there, almost over boston. if that were the case, then i would hammer the southeastern massachusetts area in the vineyard and the capes, and well, that is a tough track right there. it's close enough to us to produce some rip currents and heavy surf. that's about it. i mean, is that going to be in through sunday? it is, it'll be interesting. we're talking about high winds

there. let's talk about the wind field. it is offshore. these are 40 miles per hour winds. 60 miles per hour in red. watch what happens as they go through the kick. and at least the tropical storm forced winds will be in southeastern mass out there and possibly, well, winds up to 60 miles per hour. so we are dodging another one which is good news for us. again if you're going, well, you know, to the beach, summer is waiting here. please, please be advised of the signs posted on the beaches. there will be some rip currents. mostly cloudy tonight. a little bit muggy. showers and thunderstorms are possible. the temperatures are 68 to 74. and let me show you the live doppler. pinpointing a couple of the storms now. most of them are still out here. we'll zoom up to this storm which is just on the other side of the river. and that is in portions of frederick county, west of 270. headed towards here and adams town. headed actually, towards, well, worthington falls golf course there. and it is going to produce heavy rain. not severe, but some heavy rain. it is already heavy over 15. it's going to drift off to the

east, eventually cross into 270, right around here. and then going the east side of 270 in the next 30 and 60 minutes. all right, back to the computer we go. temperatures, well, theying managed to make it into the 90s today. but pretty comfortable. 79 out here. it is kind of rain cooled. and 82 out there and 84 here. tomorrow morning, mostly cloudy with showers and storms. some could produce heavy rain late in the mornings. 70s to the 80s. mostly cloudy and cooler. more showers and thunderstorms. some could produce heavy rain. high temperatures holding around 80. winds southeasterly at about 10. satellite picture radar combined. a lot of moisture. kind of combined about this. that will be brought up with the frontal system and really enhance our showers and storms tomorrow. and this is danny. not very well defined. drifting off to the west, northwest. and it's about 550 miles to the south, southeast out here. we're in pretty good shape right now. just a few showers back to the

it was never missed. senator ted kennedy persevered, stayed the course and tiredlessly worked to make that mountain of dreams a reality. well, thank you for that, john. and for those who have been tempted to get a little more specific regarding ted kennedy's human frailties, they had this to say. i'm angry to hear that any negative comments on the day a man deserves to rest in peace and a family allowed to grieve. the kennedy family has given so much to this country. we need to take a deep breath and let this family able to reflect and honor senator ted kennedy. we did miss one important fact. i appreciate you mentioning kennedy and his brothers, but both you and wusa9 admitted that the first brother who died on board a b-24 bomber during world war ii. originally it was joseph senior's vision that joe jr. ran for the presidency. you know, you're right about that, david. thank you for that from what i read as each kennedy brother fell, the younger was expected to take up the cause until it
