you redskins tailgate. i'm scott broom in portion county, a crisis that marred the first week of school here has still not been completely resolved. >> right now we're at 1,273 students who are, who are working an the clock to get their schedules done. now anger from parents that revelations that school officials knew of the brewing crisis long before school started. >> we had some issues with the timing of the scheduling. >> reporter: chief technology officer wesley watts junior on thursday pointed to the $4.1 million computer system called school max. saying installation of the system caused delays in the scheduling process all the way back in may. then software glitches and patches ate up more time. schedules usually furnished in early august weren't done until the last minute. >> at that time it was the week before school. it was a thursday and friday before school. we found out issue on the first day in terms of the number of students who had holes in their

schedule. >> reporter: i'm bruce leshan at arlington national cemetery. 46 years ago, president john f. kennedy stood on a sun baffled hillside below arlington house and remarked on the beauty of the spot. two weeks later he was buried there and tomorrow his last surviving brother will be buried there, too. >> you could just tell by the time he spent here this was a very special for him and he felt very comfortable here. >> reporter: senator edward kennedy's motorcade will stop for a brief prayer at the senate steps on saturday afternoon at 4:30. his casket will travel down constitution avenue to arlington where it will be born to his gravesite by a joint services casket team including sergeant john kinny. whose mother turned to senator kennedy for help with her hospital bills when the sergeant was born. >> she wrote senator kennedy a letter and he made sure we had the medical care that was

winds. you can see by saturday a little after -- late in the afternoon it will be producing tropical storm-force winds over southern new england. all kinds of watches up there and they will see three to four inches of rain, too. it will come close enough to us that it will produce some rip currents again and also some rough seas, but not a direct hit. no rain from us. all the rain the next few days has nothing to do with danny. a flood watch until 2:00 a.m. shower and thunderstorms tapering off. they may well cancel this. we will have to wait and see. lows 66 to 72 and winds out of the south at ten. for the most part look for scattered activity tonight. the heavy stuff is over actually. this is radar. we see a lot of -- see how it is heavier to the south and east of us. this is has been the trend since 3:00 this afternoon. we are looking at the potential for activity to reform back to the west of us. for the most part not too much tonight. let's go back to the -- let's

go to doppler radar for a minute. look at the wide view. we have heavy activity across the delmarva and the bay down to the northern neck. that's for sure. but look back to the west. really nothing back to the west. so that is indeed good news. now, we will zoom in a little bit and take you to fedex. and there's no showers around fedex right now. it is dry across the board. so really we are in pretty good shape. there is one shower that has popped up in the last 45 minutes to the west of town out to seneca and ashburn and redskins park. this is drifting to the north across the river and heading in to upper montgomery county. that will have heavy . lnot willnot be severe. backo the computer we go. tomorrow morning, partly sunny. mild. run the risk of a shower or thunderstorm but not bad. 60s and 70s and by afternoon partly sunny and warm. scattered showers and thunderstorms but there will be time to do some chores an the house and play the soccer game and stuff. highs 85. the next seven days, 85
