look at the top of the screen. you can see bill belichick, nice shot. he reaches over, definitely calls the time out before the football is snapped. >> jim: walt coleman involved in a few no fumble situations with the patriots. you go back to the old game. that was the right call. gostkowski will come out and hit one from 31. crowd doesn't like the fact that there was no fumble called. clearly time out was -- time of the kick is good.

>> i told the cops that he ran up there. >> all this while outside her locked down neighborhood. patrol cars keep guard. this is a result of a cross county police chase. it began around 3:00 this afternoon at this take out store. workers tell 9news now the suspects used a gun and a hammer to rob them of $500. when they took off in a car. >> one of the attendants got the plates of the robbery, actually tried to follow them. >> police joined the chase until it ended here when the suspect ditched their car. >> 8 to 10 cop cars came flying into the neighborhood telling us to get into the house. >> not long after they arrested three of the four suspects and. of the credit belongs to one young girl. >> it's a very violent criminals. so it was definitely warranted the pursuit and i'm very glad this we were apprehended with little or no injury. >> those three suspects arrested are juveniles but will most likely be charged as adults. at this moment police are still searching for that fourth suspect but neighbors, anita,

are no longer on lockdown. >> heroics indeed, though. brittany morehouse, thank you so much. well, new tonight, the bizarre california kidnapping case takes a chilling new turn. is the convicted sex offender who abducted an 11-year-old girl 18 years ago and fathered two children with her, is he also a serial killer? authorities have searched the home for evidence connected to the unsolved murders of several prostitutes. their bodies were dumped near an industrial park where he used to work. the couple was arraigned today on #29d counts including forceable abduction. he tried to explain his actions in a jail house interview. >> it's a disgusting thing that took place in the beginning. but i turned my life completely around at the end and this is going to be a horrible story, one that you're going to be really impressed. >> the county sheriff's department admits his department missed the chance to arrest him.

a neighbor reported children living in a makeshift shelter in the back y cd and said he was psychotic with a sexual addiction. the secret en can'tment where she lived with her two girls was also missed by a parole officer. he supervised the convicted sex offender with home visits as often as three times a month. in eastern afghanistan today an american soldier wasil led by a roadside bomb. that brisd the toll in 6. 4st to 6.heas riding in the samrmyrm a vehicle as the soldier and was severely wounded. she has been getting treatment. the number of roadside bombings in afghanistan has more than doubled over the last couple of years. digital correspondent andrew stack takes a closer look at the why and how of these attacks. andrew. >> reporter: well, anita, i spent the evening with one soldier who has been recovering from two years for wounds he

sustained in an attack. the specialist believes the reason the attacks are spiking now in afghanistan is because al qaeda's attention is moving away from iraq. >> when i got injured, it felt like time stopped. >> reporter: the specialist served two tours in iraq. he wasn't hit by any ieds in 2004. but in 2007, he says it seemed like they never stopped. he survived four bombings but the fifth took him out of action. >> there was a high explosive round on the bottom and that's the one that blew up over the top of me. i lost a lot of blood. i suffered extensive nerve damage to my right arm. i had to have my brachial artery replaced. >> reporter: and those latest bombs, much more powerful shaped charges, are now migrating to afghanistan. shape charges focus the power of a blast at a specific point instead of spreading it out. the explosive turns an inverted copper cone inside out, creating

heading up against in the district. it recognizes other marriages from different states and now there's a push to perform the ceremonies here. but the national organization for marriage which helped ban gay unions in california is vowing to do the same thing in the nation's capitol. we have the exclusive details. >> i believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. no offense to anybody out there. >> she's a dumb. we're playing a good team. but what was great about what we did is didn't get down on ourselves. nobody was down. we just had to find the formula for moving the ball on the ground. we were struggling a little bit early moving the ball in the ground. then we kind of found some of the things we were looking for. we mixed it up with some aggressive pass plays and i thought our receivers did a nice job of separating from offenders. we left a couple out there that we could have had. and so i was pleased with that. we'll look at the video and probably see more. and we had some good play out there tonight on offense? >> 14 or 15 penalties, what did you think overall? >> it was 15. and that was kind of one of the real disappointments in the game. as i talked about it with our team, you could see everybody going, god, there is just kind
