republican parties for the visions and the families, we have a link on our website, wusa9.com. tonight, the family of two women, struck by a hit-and-run driver are appealing for your help. montgomery county police say that a driver dragged those women as far as 100 feet and they kept ongoing. scott broom live at the police headquarters with more developments in the case. scott? >> well first and foremost, the family has them briefed on the medical condition of these women. both of them are in serious conditions out there in the hospitals. and both families, they are stunned by the idea that there is still a hit-and-run driver out there potentially. still behind the wheel. >> reporter: the husband of the 29-year-old, the mother of two boys, speaking through a police interpreter. >> they made a really bad judgment. and to hit somebody and just run away. i think that it was something really bad for this person to do it. >> reporter: she was with the 22-year-old maria. her family is also stunned. the pair were leaving a cleaning job in

silver spring and walking in this crosswalk saturday at 10 in the morning. when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver. she was dragged more than 110 feet. police displayed this grill from a dark colored or black toyota four runner suv, model year, 1998 to 2000. they want the driver. >> we just can't believe that the person didn't know that he or she struck these two women. >> reporter: my family, they would like to send the message to this individual. to face responsibility. and they have seen two people working there, working very hard. >> reporter: and police, they are convinced that the grill will lead to some kind of a tip. if you know anything about it, then they want you to give them a call here on montgomery county. a little irony to destroy that as well. the street and no sidewalks are difficult for the pedestrians there. there were signs up that said that the county planned to improve the pedestrian walkways there. reporting live from the mount

tkpwopl recounty -- montgomery county police quarters. all right, thank you for that. the family of the man killed by a falling tree limb, whole riding his motorbike in the county is suing. a huge tree limb, they struck the 48-year-old jones, as he road along west old baltimore road. and he died in the hospital two days later. the family's lawyer, they say that many of the trees along the stretch were dead. and neighbors, they had complained about them coming down. they are suing montgomery county for $6 million, saying that the county, they were negligent. >> and the family, they are quite upset about that because it is clear that the county, they should have known and that we believe they did know that these trees, they were dead and that we're a hazard to the residence of the montgomery county. >> she also leaves behind four childrens, ages 5 to 20. but the police report said that he was not wearing a helmet. >> and we have two 9news followups to tell you about first. the holocaust museum, they are scheduled to be arraigned later

still cannot explain the accident. and 228 people, they were killed. shortly after that plane took off from rio easters a on june 1. the sáerpbl has failed to turn out the plane's slight recorder. as a result of the crash, the european aviation officials wanted them to replace the sensors like the ones on the flight. the former louisiana congressman, they say that they are cash strapped. and he's the lawmaker convicted of corruption after he was found with cash in his freezer. and they filed for bankruptcy last week, claiming that they are as much as $10 million in debt. this is some fbi surveillance footage that helped prosecutors convict jefferson earlier this month. two firefighters are dead as fast moving wildfires ravaged the west. the 45,000 acre blaze that claimed their lives is just 5% contained. and as they report, try conditions and warm weather, they are not helping. >> a blazing orange wall of flames on the ground.

moisture here just sort of stays in arizona. some of it will get into parts of southern california and nothing else, it gets the humidity. that's something else that they need to think. you might as well have higher humidity. that'll help with the 35,000 acres that are burning. and the 35,000 acres are like 85% of the districts on fire. and becoming clear to partly cloudy tonight. quite cool. one of the cooler nights. low 50s in the su burns and low 60s downtown. winds are light, northeast at five to ten. most folks in the 60s. and they are 55 at silver spring. 54 out here. upper 60s down towards andrews. maybe 62 or so in alexandria. and well, most everybody in their 50s tonight. tomorrow morning, mostly sunny and cool 50s and 60s. winds are northeast to 10. by the afternoon, what could you say? spectacular. mostly sunny, highs out there, northeasterly at 10.

first two weeks of training camp, the redskins approached this final preseason game. remarkably, healthy. in fact, the season opened up tomorrow. all 22 starters would be ready to go. the starting cornerback for the skins, they have played just one quarter this preseason. and they won't play again this thursday. as he continues to struggle with a calf injury. and based on the way that tom brady tore up the secondary on friday night, they could use him back now. >> that is very concerned. because i think that carlos, he must have reps. so now as we bring him back and then he's got to go play out there, continuing to run and just a different side for them, and all that training, so i mean, we still have time. they are progressing to that game a whole lot. >> well, one other guy that set out at practice today is albert, the defensive soup -r star to miss the last two days with the stomach issues. when you are 350 pounds, there is no such thing as a small issue. meanwhile, the grim reaper, they are lurking for 20 of the
