today, congressional leaders attended a service honoring men and women aboard united flight 93. a bronze plaque was unvailed at the capitol. on september 11, 2001, four commercial air jets were hijacked. they destroyed the world's trade center in new york, damaged the pentagon in arlington. 3,000 people, including the hijackers died. passengers and crew have been freed from a hijacked airline in mexico city. the plane came down in cancun. american, french, and mexican citizens were among the plane. mexican news media reported the hijackers were citizens demanding to speak with the mexican president. we'll keep you updated on any other developments. the woman who was murdered as she walked to the front door of her apartment building has

been identified by police. scott. >> the victim is 37-year-old samone white. she lived alone in this apartment building. she was killed last night when she walked from this parking lot to her apartment building right there at about 12:30. just after midnight. white was killed on the pedestrian bridge that spans a gap from a parking lot here to her building. she was shot twice in the upper body and she was still holding her car keys and still had her belongings with her, which included a laptop computer. all of that untouched. a neighbor told me she heard two shots seconds after walking in her own front door, but saw nothing. >> i didn't see anything unusual. i usually come home around that time. so to think that somebody was probably just hiding in the bushes or in the parking lot waiting is very scary. >> police have not identified any suspects, they are asking for witnesses to come forward.

is tieing up traffic. we'll keep you updated as we get more information. to stafford county now where a youth minister has been indicted with misconduct. the methodist church placed jecherifnn brennan on unpaid administrative leave. she is accused of ifhaving sexu contact with a 15-year-old boy between february and march of this year. brennan was counseling him and his girlfriend against premarital sex. >> we reported immediately to the sheriff's department and to the child protective services and our youth director was placed on administrative leave. >> brennan had been a youth minister for a year and a half at the church. coming up ahead, how budget cuts in virginia could impact your safety. plus caught on tape, a burglar at work at a local school. you may have information to

i tell you what, you don't want to be in this area right now. georgia avenue at the beltway in silver spring, maryland, because if you are, if you know someone that is, they are probably stuck because of this multicar accident. it happened along avenue jt deususinsisi avenue just inside the beltway. this is in the montgomery hill area and as you can imagine, traffic is a mess over there. so if you can avoid that area, it is probably a good idea to do that. you are looking at a traffic

take a good look at this video. well, not this video of the senator. this video right here. we just got it a few minutes ago. the man you see is wanted in connection with at least 11 school break ins. once inside the school, the man breaks into vending machines and steals the money. this not so friendly video is from friendly high school, if you think you know the suspect, police want to hear from you. and montgomery county police need your help to identify someone who has been robbing banks. photos of the man over the summer went to several branches and cashed some phoney checks that claim to be from the hyatt corporation. investigators say he stole about $9,000. if you know him, contact montgomery county police. now to another request for help. this one is from the loudoun

county sheriff's office. 14-year-old irlinda martinez. investigators hope you can help them find her. she left her house on monday and she hasn't been seen since. if you know anything, please call the loudoun county sheriff's office. virginia state's budget cuts have one local sheriff very concerned. the head of the fairfax county jail says the closing of two state prisons means the population of local jails will balloon. our dave stadard has the story. >> there are 1300 prisonnenners. each day, 40 to 60 of them are people who should be in state prisons. that is normal. with two state prisons closing, local sheriffs have been warned they will have to handle more state prisoners. >> the reimbursable is minimal. we get $10 to $12 a day when our cost is around $135 a day. >> it will have other costs. >> any additional prisoners would force us to look at
