concerned. >> reporter: an 18-year-old woman at the apartments were taking out the trash around 10 last night when she was attack. they say the suspect tried to talk to her in spanish, but she ignored him and kept on walking. that's when police say a man grabbed him at knife point. there was a struggle and the woman was able to break free. and another incident happened less than a mile away am a complex out there on sunday night. neighbors say a 56-year-old woman got out of her car and was walking her dog when she was approached by a man speaking to her in spanish. there was a brief struggle then and the woman got away. police believe that the two incidents are connected. if you know anything about this case, call police. at the world metro station, just world north of here, a worker was struck by train this morning in a tunnel. >> these piurwees reshot by them as the firefighters we moved the worker for a fight. the man was working separately from the rest of the maintenance crew when he was struck by a yellow line train to

they say tried to park in a secure area near the capitol with guns in his car. investigators identified him as the 28-year-old of falls church. police say that he had an unregistered shotgun, a rifle, and 500 rounds of ammo in his trunk. well both republicans and democratic candidates for the virginia area condemned that out there speaking to the groups of corporate executives. so was peggy fox bringing us the story. bob mcdonald had aing strong reaction to sell the republican, joe wilson's heckling of the president. >> i condemn that kind of action i think and the stability that needs to return. i think we could disagree or agreeably do that. >> they agreed. >> the stability is not dead. and that is inexcusable. but we live in a world where anything like that happens. >> the candidates spoke separately to the officer's club. both counting near business agendas. >> we need to be able to cut the tax in a regulatory burden for

apartment. they said that the thieves punched a hole through the vacant apartment next door. and then they crawled into their place and they stole ipods and digital cameras. happening at the georgian apartment over the past 10 days, rather that there were three such incidents including an unlocked apartment being burglarized. one woman said she was home when somebody tried to break in. >> i heard a noise on the front door. all of a sudden they came in front of the apartment which at this time i screamed and the man ran away. i rein after him but then he just kept on staying along the apartments by the time they were ready for the exit. >> the property management says that they had surveillance cameras in place. that they did not record the video. and he says that rathey were updating that security system so there will be more cameras that do record. well it is official, they will pay $4.7 million to settle a discrimination lawsuit. landowner, they filed that federal suit against the government. and alleging that the

antimuslim bias was behind the reason the town stopped him from developing a muslim community center. as a condition of the settlement, walker will admit no wrong doing. >> prince george's county officials have passed a new restriction on the adult, book, and video shop. one of the new rules call t-r if porn shop to be taken out of the malls and secondly, the store's operating hours will be restricted and shop owners will need to have county licenses. businesses have until january of 2011 to make those changes. well, it's mixed news now out of the drug abuse conference today in the district. okay, first the good news. we are gaining some ground in the war on drugs. for example, the 12 to 17 age group, meth use has gone down. in 2007, an estimated $52,000 users in -- -- 529,000. cocaine used in that age group is down 1% as well. the real problem though is those 18 to 25-year-olds. >> well, we need to work better

little bit northeasterly at about 10 to 20 and gusty. and now, let me show you live doppler. >> most of the actives down to the south -- activities down to the south, they are inching their way up to the northwest. nothing is heavy right now. but we'll zoom in towards the southeast looking at light to moderate showers for them, down towards them and around st. maries for much of the day. but they are moving off to the north. we'll put that in motion for the next hour. we'll see the activity moving farther north over right into the district in the next hour. but again, only with light occasionalmoderate activity. back to the computers we go. for the temperatures tonight, very nice. open up the windows, great falls. 51 for the low out there. and even silver spring, they will be in the upper 50s as will they, the upper 50s for andrews and upper marlboro. pretty nice. temperatures right now, already in the mid-60s. and falling as we hit that northeasterly wind to drag the temperatures down a little bit. 65 out there and 56 in vienna.

we're looking at 56 in the plains and 56 out there. now friday morning, becoming partly sunny, breezy and cold, maybe a shower, 50s and 60s, not bad. but by the afternoon, slight chance of the shower, high temperatures though, low to mid-70s. that's kind of comfortable and the winds are northwesterly at 10 to 15. satellite radar picture, we'll zoom into the storm. this is the tropical storm that is kind of hanging around the southeast middle and atlantic coast for the past fur days. eventually pulling off to the north. as they do, they will drag the rain through here tonight and also drag the rain out of here tomorrow. and their own forecast, all six seens available on our website from the mountains to the base. over to the beach really. 73 out there at charlestown. and 75 at stafford. downtown, we'll keep that chance out there not a bad day. low 70s for them. next seven day, showers on friday. mainly the morning and then becoming partly sunny.

they would not take part in the newly reformed system whenever it happens. sanders says she's embarrassed for the whole state. the man they elected made a fool out of themselves and just because they were told to apologize later for the fellow congress will not cut it. they are not sorry and they should be removed from the

congress. when they are so blatant to embarrass your country that it is time to step down. and they said that they have never seen anything like it. anyone who would displace such behaviors, they don't deserve to represent anyone. and it is so obvious that racism is alive and well. no one would have done that to any of the former president's why do it to president obama. their apology is just the best. they should strongly be done. no doubt that congress wilson's outburst was disturbing, but i bet he'll know right away he has gone too far as they have seen that apologetic statement released too much for them. but the bigger question is why he or anyone would adventure to them with so little respect. and well joe from d.c. with an answer, joe wilson's conduct last night, they exemplified that relief that they are okay to speak to a black man, even the president of the united states, anyway that you want whenever and wherever you would like. >> i hope that the next district denies them for any opportunity
