staffers by first names, working until night fall. kevin says he has been on this mission since he learned what really happened on the flight that killed his girlfriend. >> basically starting on that monday at the hearings you just had revelation after revelation and it just brought you to your knees. >> reporter: investigators unearthed pilot tests, improper training and exhausted captains. it is a reality that pilots say persist and all regional flyers face. >> they are long-duty days. four and five, six eight legs a day compared to say a more experienced pilot. >> reporter: this retired pilot used to fly. >> now they are harassing them for calling in sick or fatigued. >> reporter: he spoke to us from new jersey but on capitol hill today he joined the head of the airlines pilot's association to testify.

question for you. the neighbors of washington redskins star albert haynesworth don't think it could be legal and one of them is complaining to the top. gary neurenberg is here with the 9news now exclusive. gary, what's up. >> reporter: derek, albert haynesworth does park his car in a handicap space in his gated community angering one of his neighbors. he says it is so his brother, a handicap veteran, can have easy access to the car. this is the car, a current south carolina handicap parking permit parked in a handicap spot in front of albert haynesworth's apartment. >> i just think it is wrong. my friend is physically handicapped, had a stroke. >> reporter: albert haynesworth says the parking pass is issued to his brother, a veteran who left the service on full disability who lives with him and uses the car. >> when i go off and my brother is not with me i don't park in

handicap but when i come home and my brother uses the home i'm going to leave it right there for him. >> reporter: but no nonhandicapped operator of a motor vehicle should park such vehicle in a parking place reserved for a handicap except when transporting a handicapped person. >> i don't think it is fair that he has to walk down the road because some guy is complaining. >> reporter: sheriff deputies interviewed albert haynesworth wednesday evening and said there was no issue of any crime and issued no tickets. >> the car will continue to stay there and if he has a problem with it, so be it. >> shouldn't be a problem on sunday when albert haynesworth plans to park himself at ford field. >> did he talk at all about the detroit lions? >> we really wanted to talk about this. but he did talk a little bit about having worked for the defensive coach up there before. asked if it was an advantage or disadvantage but didn't know if it would help or hurt. the state of maryland is

getting $6 million in homeland security grants. most of the money will go towards protecting critical infrastructure at the port of baltimore. the rest will help replace a fire station in glen bernie. fbi is investigating the death of a census working in south eastern kentucky. the body was found hanging from a tree near daniel boone national forest last week. he had the word fed scrawled in his chest. investigators are not releasing many more details about the death right now. a follow-up for you now on a story we have been tracking for nearly five years here at 9news now. what are the rules when it comes to taking pictures outside of the united states federal building? over the past few years we have found evidence of tourists and even the media being told that taking those snap shots could land them in jail. but there really aren't any regulations or laws to back that up. today a hearing was held on photographers being harassed while trying to photograph federal buildings. >> nonsecurity personnel upsetting the agenda and

calling the shots building by building. we can do better but only if we recognize and then come to grips with the complexities associated with maintaining a society of free and open access in a world characterized by unprecedented terrorism. >> security officers do have the right to question what you're doing outside a federal building. they can even ask for your i.d. acorn not a particularly tough nut to crack when you've got a hidden camera but that hidden equipment has led to a lawsuit. acorn has filed suit against the people that recorded two baltimore employees giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman posing as his prostitute. under maryland law a person has to give permission before a person can be recorded. acorn gave no such permission.

could be gambling as early as next memorial date. some can't wait and others are worrying but an increase in things maybe like crime. >> i don't think slots will help ocean pines at all. i think it will be detrimental. >> i hope there are enough machines for all our friends. that's all. >> state officials are still mulling over other requests for slots. including one in the rundle mills mall and another near the ravens football stadium in baltimore. maryland officials don't like the spike they see in the number of boating deaths. 15 people have died so far this year and that is the highest. state officials are considering new safety laws. here is one proposal endorsed by the governor raising the age of which it is necessary for kids to wear life jackets from seven years and under to 13 and under on boats.
