11:19 pm
come on. >> for the british that's okay to run around in a gorilla suit. >> it is wet out there. is it going to continue? >> for the rest of tonight, yes, probably into early tomorrow morning. if you're going to get up early on sunday you will probably have to contend with rain but it will get better the further we go into the day on sunday. next couple of days, the temperatures will drop off. we will be in the 70s on sunday and monday but a strong cold front is going to come through on monday and the temperatures are going to drop to below normal levels by the middle of the week. we will show you the seven-day forecast. if you'll be out late for some reason the rain will continue off and on. low temperatures in the 50s. there could even be some areas of fog. not the best night to be out driving around. during the day tomorrow mixture of clouds and sunshine. best chance for rain in the morning. still could be a couple of scattered showers in the afternoon. but again, the further you go into the day the better the chance for dry weather. high temperatures in the mid- 70s.
11:20 pm
sunrise tomorrow morning at 7:01. fairly impressive rain totals so far. over an inch in culpeper, leesburg. lesser amounts to the east of town. 6200ths in annapolis. still a lot of rain on the raider. little orange and yellow areas representing some heavier stuff. we have heavy rain at the present time. it is marching to the east ever so slowly and steady rain should taper off i would say by 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. in the morning with just scattered showers after that. 61 at the top of the hour at national airport. dew point 55. that produces a relative humidity of 88%. because they are in the mid to upper 50s and actual temperatures are in the upper 50s to around 60 they will only drop off a couple more degrees tonight. 57 in culpeper. 61 downtown as we mentioned at national. weather setup. high pressure in new england and big storm system coming out of the ohio valley. those two are converging and we are getting the showers and
11:21 pm
even a few thundershowers. if we look upstream we can kind of see a little activity back in the ohio valley. this is the upper level system. this is the surface system here. so we still have to get through that second part tomorrow. that's why i kept the chance for a shower in the forecast even in the afternoon. and then back behind that there is a very strong cold front up in the southern part of canada that is going to come through on monday. that's why we put a chance for a thunderstorm in the forecast on monday. and once that goes by the temperatures are really going to drop off. the highs even with sunshine will only be in the 60s tuesday, wednesday and thursday. overnight lows will be in the 40s. and i wouldn't be surprised if we had our first little frost of the season perhaps wednesday night or thursday night out in the mountains. not around the city, of course. but still, some chilly stuff coming up once we get beyond the beginning of the wok week. >> but rain will taper off late tonight. it will stay like this for a while. >> the rain, it is not tapering
