area, northern virginia area. >> reporter: at one gym police say the thief took keys from behind the front desk. stole a vehicle and then used stolen credit cards at a macy's in ballston. he talk on his cell phone as he pulls out a stolen credit card and racks up $2,400 in gift cards and a watch. he then takes the shopping bag of stolen goods and leaves the store. >> it seems like it is escalating. it seems so bold he can just walk in. >> it is bold and he is breaking in to gym lockers now, locked and unlocked he is taking people's keys and stealing vehicles. >> they say the crook fits in and he says he forget his keys with his gym pass and the clerk lets him in. >> he doesn't discriminate between men and women's locker rooms. >> he will take whatever locker he can get. >> detectives say he has been working it the last three years. >> see if you recognize him.

surae chinn, 9 news now. >> police have advice for you don't bring valuables to the gym unless you have to. and if you do chemothem with you you at all times or leave in your car out of sight and locked up. and mayor fenty wants to raise parking fees in the city but he may want to think of paying his tickets first. according to an awe auditors report there are $770 in unpaid fines another school assigned to michelle rhee racked up $345 in fines. in all that auditor's office found 685 unpaid fines worth $71,690 since 2002. protesters are sending a theatrical messager the imf world bank meeting. activists claim the international organization favor banks and corporations and drive struggling economies in to debt and poverty. these protesters performed a

tug of war demonstration over a half penny between what they call the bankers and everybody else. they are urging finance ministers to tax the banks to create jobs, climate change and global help. >> we want a solution that raises serious money while also reducing the speculation that we know has hurt our economy so badly. >> reporter: finance ministers from the g-20 will hold discussions about global economic recovery, generating funds for the poorest nations in the world and improving child nutrition. the weekend meetings don't just come with protests. they come with street closings. in 25 minutes the treat streets here will close down and be that way until sunday at 5:00. there are also parking restrictions in affect along those same routes as well as on pennsylvania avenue between 18th and 20th streets. those will be in affect until monday morning at 6:00 a.m. metro is warning riders expect an hour's worth of days if you try to ride the rails this weekend.

starting in an hour, trains will be sharing a single track on the red line between medical center and friendship heights. at 10:00 they will move to single tracking between new york avenue an rhode island avenue. that is the same time work will begin between the foggy bottom and arlington cemetery stations on the blue line. trains will be single tracking on the orange line between foggy bottom and courthouse. all the work is expected to continue until the system closes sound at midnight. on sunday night get ready for long-term work near the lincoln memorial. crews will be reconstructing ohio drive over the next several weeks. most of the work will happen at night between independence avenue, 23rd street southwest and the southern end of rock creek parkway. keep an eye out for posted detours and lane shifts. the traffic right now is what we are worried about at this moment. >> it is after 7:00 and things are looking much better, especially on the capital beltway. as you can see here drivers are up to speed past 270 spur.

back now with a look at mei xiang chilling at the national zoo today. officials have her on 24 hour surveillance trying to see if perhaps she might be about to give birth. 40 volunteers are rotating shifts to keep an eye out for the possible of a cub. she was artificially inseminated in january and her hormone levels are showing she could be pregnant. more than a dozen senior officials at the securities and exchange commission are accused of down loading pornography on their office computers. the sec workers are senior staffers and they make as much as $220,000 a year. they were being paid to police the financial markets, instead they allegedly spent hours surfing for hard-core porn on their government computers. here's a sample of the public outrage. >> they are paid to do a job for the people, and when you lose sight of that they have to be dealt with appropriately. >> our country is in shambles and they are doing their own

representing my state and my home. i hope more people can get the military and get that sense of pride that you get from this job. >> reporter: army sergeant claiborne survived an ied attack in his first deployment overseas. >> i like being part of the army. it gives me the pride and feel respected by a lot of other people. and, you know, i do it for my family as well because they support me. and i have a lot of friendships i have bill up over the years. >> reporter: claiborne along with 59 others gave their salutes inside of the russell senate office building in a special reenlistment ceremony. >> what makes the reserves such a treasury is when we have a combination of civilian skills and military skills that people pull together on the battlefield or back in their community. >> reporter: claiborne builds elevator and works as a bridge engineer in ft. belvoir. the army helps him to pay for trade school, get a job and support his growing family.

in the immediate area. getting a potential of thunderstorms by sunday afternoon. here's the forecast first, the next three days, tomorrow, i want to emphasize the first half of the day will be dry. showers late, not much happens during the day tomorrow. in the mid 60s and heaviest rain is saturday night in to sunday morning. perhaps a break and then big thunderstorms on sunday. if we don't make it to the 70s we are not going to have severe weather. we will have showers but not storms and monday around 70. we will break it down. unsettled weekend. first half of saturday will be dry. heaviest rain is saturday night. morning rain and showers on sunday and then afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible on sunday. here's what we are thinking now. severe weather is possible through the ohio valley and mid- atlantic to the southeast. moderate risk to our south on sunday we will keep you posted. we are always on at wusa9.com. all right some clouds and cool tonight. low temperatures 46 to 54. winds from the east at ten.

tomorrow morning, okay. increasing clouds and cool. showers are still possible south and west of town. temperatures in the 40s and 50s but i think the bulk of it will be dry through noon tomorrow. by afternoon, a few showers are possible. high temperatures between 60 and 65 and then by evening rain and showers will develop. in fact, here's our 9 future cast. put this in to motion. a little after midnight clouds. tomorrow morning early just clouds and the early soccer softball game should be okay. a couple of showers are possible primarily west of town. notice the growing area to the south and west. 7:00 on saturday night and we have a lot of showers pushing through the immediate met throw area. tomorrow may not be the prettiest day but not the wettest day. satellite picture radar combined a monster storm now in much of arkansas pushing in to missouri and eventually in to illinois and also tremendous storms in mississippi. again, same system heading our way. we will be popping the warm sector on sunday and we will be in trouble. the meantime tonight we are dry with a few clouds.
