on too late. >> it was not a way-off, it was very sudden and you heard wooh and then it was that fast. >> reporter: the fire department and metro police are investigating into i'm surae chinn in ashburn where a man is robbing businesses. he picked up a hair gel and acted like he was going to buy it and then robbed the place. you see him pull out a large kitchen knife and grabs the cash. the manager of the salon said there was one customer and two hair stylists in the salon at the time of the incident yesterday afternoon. >> i was worried when they called me because i had a feeling it was the same guy that hit the other salons. >> reporter: that's what the loudoun county sheriffs think after two other businesses were robbed around lunchtime, including another hair cutery nearby and a taco bell. >> not typical to walk into a

again. in maryland, big changes in store for prince george's county thanks to term limits and the primary results. new faces will take the reins in all of the major county offices. the winner rushern baker beating outgoing executive jack johnson. and today baker was promising to clean up county government. >> whether it's perceived or reality that prince george's county is a place where you can't do business or that there are contracts just being handed out, we need an inspector general who is independent from the council and county executive to come in and make the decisions. >> five of the eight county council members will be new faces. because this county is so heavily democratic, the primary winners face to opposition for the job election -- the general election in november and are virtually assured of winning. now that the primaries are done, the white house is shifting focus to the bush era tax cuts but for the middle

class only. president obama wants congress to preserve the tax cuts for families making less than a quarter million dollars a year and also wants to allow the breaks for the wealthy americans to expire. but the president's running into opposition on that one. >> once again leaders across the aisle are saying no. they want to hold these middle class tax cuts hostage until they get an additional tax cut for the wealthiest 2% of americans. we simply can't afford that. >> now the congressional democrats are confronting deep divisions within their own ranks over whether or not to support president obama's plan to raise taxes on wealthy americans. one of those worried democrats is freshman congress member jerry connell who represents fairfax, because fairfax is one of the wealthiest counties in the country. many folks who live there would see taxes go up if the bush era tax cuts go away as the president wants.

but as peggy fox tells us, connellry is respectfully disagreeing with the president. >> reporter: when the press came to a fairfax neighborhood this week, he chose a place where a tax increase on the wealthiest americans doesn't sit well. >> i'm not sure if i'm in favor of that. i think it's worth looking at though. >> i want to see the bush tax cuts extended. >> reporter: the average household income in fairfax county is over $100,000. and though couples pulling in $250,000 or more may not consider themselves wealthy in this high cost of living region, they are and pay more taxes if the president has his way. >> but now is not the time to be raising taxes on any income group. >> reporter: congressman jerry connelly said raising taxes on the wealthy could hurt the economy, which is what the republicans have been arguing. >> if you look at the economic data, the top 5% income bracket in america accounts for 30% of all consumer spending. we can't risk dampening consumer confidence at this time. >> reporter: while the president has been blasting republicans for not wanting to

get rid of the bush era tax cuts on the wealthiest, democrat connelly said the president hasn't pressured him at all about changing his mind. >> he's running scared. >> reporter: george mason public policy expert said he could lose his seat. >> the democratic leaders in the house understand there are things that people have to do in swing districts that they are not happy about but understand it's betyer to have connelly than simeon. >> reporter: he called the no tax increase stand an election year stunt. in fairfax, peggy fox, 9 news now. >> now economists disagree over whether increasing taxes on the wealthy will hurt or help the economy. the decision on tax in congress may be put off until after the election november 2nd. so when it comes to taxes, which is more fair? for everybody to have they're share of the tax cut? aren't we all in this together? or to make the rich pay more because they can afford it and

we may finally get to stop talking about that broken bp oil well in the gulf. government officials say it should be sealed off and dead by sunday. workers are expected to complete the relief well in the next 24 hours and after that they'll pump in mud and cement to kill it. sunday would mark five months since the bp oil rig explosion killed 11 people and caused the leak. for the third straight day, public transportation bus drivers in prince george's county are off the job, out on

strike. and as a result, all 26 routes are running with limited or even no service at all. the drivers have been working without a contract since july, but the negotiations for a new deal broke down completely yesterday and there is no date set to get them started again. and you might want to bring some chaps and maybe some spurs to your next airline flight. one aircraft seat designer has come up with a new seat that looks and feels like a saddle. you only get about 22 inches of leg room. that is 10 inches less than you have right now. the company officials say a lot of airlines are already expressing interest. i can only imagine in their continuing search for new ways to torture us on long flights. coming up on 9 news now, topper has the latest forecast and lets us know about the rainy situation he mentioned. butta family forced to exhume their son's casket after there are more mistakes at arlington cemetery. stay with us. think about the internet.

three months after burial mix-ups were exposed at the arlington national cemetery, the army found two more people buried notice wrong gravesch one of them a marine from ohio killed in iraq in late 2006. for the last three months the government add myd it could not confirm that heath warner was in the right casket or even in the right spot. eric mansfield from our sister station in cleveland was with his parents as they endured the pain of exhuming his casket. >> reporter: scott warner arrived in arlington with the hat of marine dress blues, to feel something to have to feel close to his 19-year-old son. >> if it is him, i would like to set it on him again. >> reporter: if, because of a lapse in government paperwork, they couldn't remember if the casket had full military honors, if it was the same casket buried in arlington.

the only sure way was to exhume the remains, check the outside of the casket. scott and melissa warner emerged with good news. confirmation that heath's body was in the right spot. >> i can breathe. i feel like a ton of bricks have been let off my chest. so good news. >> reporter: but because the casket had broken open, scott took matters into his own hands for confirmation, to see his son's body up close. >> they cleaned his right arm and then verified it to the photos that we have of his right arm and then i knew for sure that it was heath. >> reporter: the tattoos verified by fellow marine brendan wheelan who served with warner in combat. >> tell us why it was important for to you be here for heath. no swords to -- no words to

but that's wonderful but the majority of d.c. residents would beg to disagree with you. meantime t. baker from d.c. was not a fan of how i described that voter discontent in our late-night coverage yesterday. correct me if i am wrong, but isn't derek mcginty's job to report the news. he referred to voters being disgusted with mayor fenty. his inflection seemed more personal than professional and i would like to know what he is basing the opinion on if you listened to my comments, you would hear me say that is exactly what i heard firsthand from voters for months now. that's where i got it and that's why i said it. and then the anti-fast food showing a dead body holding a cheeseburger. the gentlemen on the gurney was a double for my beloved 37-year- old son. we never expected this trucker
