robbery to figure out what needs to be done. the latest attack happened near the anna rundell hall on sunday morning. the student was walking along, tackled, forced to give up his cell phone and wallet. you can see it happened in the heart of the college park campus. >> the fact it's happening right where we all live, that's -- i think that's really a problem and scary. >> last night was a bit of a wakeup call i guess as i sat in the middle of campus. that just shouldn't happen. i think we will definitely be meeting with administration and talk about what we can do to talk this down. >> reporter: the student leaders want the top leaders to wake up and take action before a student is seriously hurt or killed in another robbery. >> we have not seen any reaction from the administration on the issue of crime. >> reporter: do you think there should be? >> we would like to see some sort of resource provided to us from the administration on

cutting down on this, especially because it looks to be like it could be moving closer if not, on campus. >> reporter: since summary there's been eight robberies near or on the college park campus. all victories victories have been students and most fall under the jurisdiction of prince george county. two men were arrested in connection with the robberies. armando thul, -- trull, 89 news now. american -- 9 news now. americans are being urged to use caution in traveling in europe. for the first time no history, an entire alert has been issued from travel for an entire continent. no specific targets are named but intelligent officials believe osama bin laden is

respects to lieutenant brandon looney. he graduated from the school where he was an outstanding football and baseball player. 1100 people showed up for the public wake. navy officials say that's a testament to his character. >> that just says a lot about his character, the man he was. his teammates described him as a man young men. he was an amazing fellow. you can see that by the number of people who came today. >> the funeral services have been changed. he will now be eulogized at 10:30 tomorrow morning in northeast washington. he be laid to rest at arlington national cemetery next to his naval academy roommate who died in the line of duty in 2007. 100 days ago today vanessa pham's murdered body was found. she was last seen leaving the

fairfax shopping complex center report -- surae chinn reporting now on how her family marked the day. >> reporter: 100 days after someone's passing is an important and sad day in buda hism and other asian cultures. it reminds her family 100 days after her death, someone got away with her murder. >> it's haunting us. >> reporter: haunting you? >> yeah. >> reporter: there's no solid leads to her killer. only a time line when 19-year- old vanessa pham was last seen. her white car captured on video leaving the fairfax shopping center 10 minutes before she was found dead with knife wounds in her crashed car. temple is not the only place

some tense moments for parents in wisconsin when a ferris wheel suddenly breaks down, stranding some 17 people, mostly children. emergency crews arrive on the scene were faced with strong wind gusts that could knock the broken ride over. anxious parents watched while rescue teams placed two front- end loader trucks on either side of the ferris wheel to stablize it. >> very scary. they seem to be very brave.

>> reporter: candidly i was the father of two talking to them saying we have hot chocolate waiting for them. >> after 2 hours, all of the children were rescued. an inspection will now be done to determine what caused the ferris wheel to stall. the sheriff is calling it a miracle. a 5-year-old missouri boy with down syndrome had been missing for nearly 24 hours and was found huddled in a bean field, 100 yards from his family's home. he walked away from his family's farm on a 240-acre farmland. >> we started the grid searches. it took awhile, but it paid off. it's just a miracle. >> you don't know the weight that has been lifted. you don't know! wonderful! >> searchers say the 5-year-old appeared to be in good shape. checking news where you live. a new law in maryland is requiring at least a 3-foot buffer from vehicles and

sunshine. the rain in the morning coming to an end with the late sunshine coming up to about 58, nearing the 60-degree mark, but then sunshine on tuesday. kind of a break, and then we get more clouds and light rain back on wednesday, cooling down to 64. let's go right through it here, exactly what i'm thinking with the full forecast. the breeze is picking, showers and it's cold. to. 50s, 5 -- 50s. 56 to 54. there will be a midnight high temperature for most of the day before we recover, and then the temperatures will slowly creep back up. 51, 52, 53, but the rain ends. some sunshine comes back out, and that's when we make recovery. mid- to upper 50s with the sunshine late. we will see this in the 9 future cast, exactly when the rain will come to an end when i think it does. look at the rain that developed. this is the big upper level

storm. see the spin in the appalachiaens and vast. this is throwing the moisture back this way. the system shuts off. the hour-by-hour forecast tomorrow. quickly, looking at live doppler 9,000 in hd and give you a sense of where the steady rain is. zooming in here, steady rain fairfax through the district and montgomery county. breaks are starting to show in southern maryland. going to the 9 future cast, hour-by-hour. here's the morning hours, morning commute, slow. give yourself extra time. it's going to be one of those. even with the wind, pushing the rain around, and it will feel like heavier rain when it's just steadier rain. watch midday. the rain is ending, and we will at least see the sunshine coming back out. afternoon, evening commute, better. tuesday in fact, the upper level storm, the system is east of us. we get quite a bit of sunshine back into the 60s.

he will not throw anyone under the bus. he's leader, but you could tell the emotions of the game really got to him after the football game. certainly what a day in philadelphia. all week long, donovan mcnabb keeping it close to the best. when asked about the return to the city, he called the football home for 11 years, today going back with a different team trying to beat his former club, i tell you what emotions right off the top. he got a rousing reception before the game. in fact a standing ovation. they came out like gang busters, changes to brandon banks. he just resigned on saturday, putting washington in great football possession. and then quintin michael trying to touch terrain. here hooking up with chris cooley, down the hash. redskins breezing. michael vick going for the goal line. squeezed at the goal line. leaves the game.
