>> reporter: the latest sexual assault took place around 4:30 a.m. wednesday in a foggy bottom alley. the victim had just left a bar near pennsylvania avenue and 23rd street when she was attacked. dc police are investigating. dw students are being extra careful. >> i just try late at night not to be anywhere by myself unfortunately. these things do happen. >> reporter: two days earlier another case of sexual abuse that happened at 2:30 a.m. sunday. >> this happens in all cities. it is a little scarier because it is on a campus. >> reporter: 17 cases of sexual abuse or assault in the past year reported. it has helped in several student dorms, open areas and even the student union. while students give the campus good marks for call boxes, there are still concerns. >> i think they could beef up security and i think they should. >> reporter: the police department tells 9news now that not every victim in the

reported cases were students or employees. half a dozen of the sexual assault cases are currently being investigated by dc police. >> reporter: a man that raped a woman on wednesday is described as a hispanic male, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with short dark hair and police aren't saying if that matches the description of the suspect in the other sexual assaults that are still unresolved. >> reporter: however police tell 9news now that the look of the hispanic suspect does not match any of the cases they are investigating. >> according to government stats one out of every five women that go to college will be the victim of some type of sexual crime by the time they graduate. it could be higher than that because a majority don't report it. out on bond tonight.

she is seen with her sister. left the courthouse without her passport and with a monitoring bracelet on her ankle. the 30 year old was told not to drive. she is accused of killing ryan outside of a bar. ryan was hit and thrown 21 feet down conneticut avenue. today her mother shared her frustrations and her horrible grief. in an interview you will only see on 9. >> i feel bad for this lady. i know she didn't do it on purpose but she had no business driving a car in her condition. my child did everything. she had a designated driver. now she is gone. 24 years old. just a baby. hadn't even started her life. hadn't had a chance to meet her love. hadn't had a chance to have children. and all of that is cut short. it is all gone now.

>> francis ryan also had words of praise for the cyclists that helped track down the driver. >> i cannot say how grateful i am that they were there to give cpr to my child. the young man on the bicycle tracked this lady down after she did this horrendous thing and just ran like a coward and left my baby lying on the side of the road. >> investigators say davidson admits she remembers pulling into her buildings garage thursday morning but she does not remember getting into any sort of accident. new at 11:00 p.m. the man suspected of stabbing three people in loudoun county is facing charges. he was indicted today. he is accused of stabbing a church custodian. also, currently in michigan where he faces charges in six

stabbings. they believe he is connected to 18 attacks in three states. suspicious death in fairfax county. 61-year-old victim was identified. he was found murdered in his house. his lek lexus is missing. if you see this car they want you to call. 911 dispatchers get some alarming and strange calls sometimes but imagine this one. send help. my 2 year old just ate some marijuana. really? well, yeah, really. tonight a young mother and roommate are behind bars in the prince william county jail and the little girl is with protective services. a woman called 911 and said the child ate the pot that was in their hotel room. they did not have to send the little girl to the hospital.

one of a parent's worst nightmare. a shooting at a school. they arrested a man that started shooting at kids on an elementary school playground. it happened in carlsbad, california. up the coast from san francisco. here is one girl that saw the shooting. >> i started running. >> thankfully only two children were injured, shot in the arm. they are expected to be okay. construction workers stopped the gunman before he could fire off even more shots. police have not released the suspect's name but they say it appears he was acting alone. tonight new information that could possibly turn the story of the kent state shootings upside down. >> it all has to do with an audio recording. national guardsman shot and killed four students during a vietnam war protest back in 1970. but now an audio expert who has

listened to recordings of the incident says he detects the sounds of pistol fire 70 seconds before the national guard opened fire and if that is right the guardsman thought they were being shot at. it could back up witnesses that said warning shots were fired because of feeling threatened. two metro stations closed. they are closed for track work on blue and orange lines. also no blue or orange line services at metro center. work should be finished by the time the transit agency opens on tuesday morning after columbus day. get ready for some road closures near the air force memorial in arlington on monday. part of columbia pike will be closed for filming of the next "transformers" movie. you can check out the entire
