dr. william hyte will make the speech at the bowie center for the performing arts. police in college park are investigating a stabbing that left four men hurt. it's a story that's new this morning. in the last 40 minutes, portion county police told 9 news a fight began an 1:30 this morning at this thirsty turtle bar on route 1. i spread to the corner stone grill where the stabbing took place. all four victims should survive. so far, no arrests in the case. also new this morning, maryland police say a woman was killed while walking along interstate 270 in gaithersburg. i happened just before midnight on southbound i-270 near route 124. police tell 9 news the woman was hit by a car and out of service metro bus. both drivers stayed on the scene. expect machinety of roads to be closed around the national mall later today. it is for the filming of the

transformers movie. kristin fisher is live where the first day of filming didn't go according to plan. >> reporter: exactly. it did not go as planned. in fact, because of what happened yesterday, filming is actually been suspended on transformers 3 in washington. i want to read you the latest statement from the metropolitan police department. there was an unscripted crash yesterday afternoon with the dc police car. and metropolitan police released this statement that says the police department is investigating the facts of the crash and filming of this movie on closed dc city streets and it's been suspended until safety procedures can be reviewed. so what happened yesterday clearly could spell out big problems for the filming of this movie. i want to show you exactly what happened yesterday because it is pretty dramatic and it was caught on tape by a fan who was stopped by the national mall in hopes of catching some of the filming. here it is. it happened 3:30 yesterday

afternoon at third and maryland in front of the national museum of the american indian. this dc police k-9 you know was enroute to a suspicious package situation. the area had been shut down by police as part of a number of treat closings to accommodate the filming but these things happen. fortunately both the police officer and stun car driver and the k-9 inside of the car walked away with no injuries. as for bumblebee, he was shot as lucky. he was taken away on a flat bed truck. >> when i saw that bumblebee had just crumbled, oh my heart dropped. like no, not bumblebee. >> what is that, bumblebee. >> whipped out in to the road and there was a police car and whamo. >> every was surprised by it that's for sure. even the crew seemed to be surprised.

" there's no official comment from the government. a u.s. army psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people during his shooting rampage is due in court today. that's when officials will determine if there is enough evidence against major hassan to put him on trial. survivors are expected to testify about what they saw

during last november's shooting spree. a ceremony will be held today in norfolk to mark the 10th anniversary of the attack on the uss cole. 17 people were killed when al- qaeda suicide bombers used a small boat, loaded with explosives, to blow a huge hole in the ship's hull. the ship was refueling in the yemeni port when it came under attack. charges have been dropped against the saudi man accused of masterminding the attack. the holiday weekend will stretch an extra day today for 1300 federal workers. they all work at the usda's animal and plant health inspection service on riverdale road in riverdale, maryland. there was a small electrical fire there this weekend so employees are getting this day off. the usda is telling anyone who can telecommute to do so. some streets will be close near the national mall today for the filming of transformers 3 which got off to a weird start on monday. kristin fisher is live in
