have taken the law to their own hands. risque retail. some manassas residents are outraged about the new store in the heart of an historic district. but first, day care predators? tonight two providers from the same day care chain are facing charges they molested some of the children in their care. >> i'm in centreville, virginia where the minnieland day care center is under investigation tonight. at the centreville day care, 22- year-old man is charged with sodomizing four and a-year-old girls. manager a the day care say he was on the job a few months and passed a criminal background check and reference check 9 news now learned that state inspectors issued dozens of violations at the minnieland in stafford lake. ryan murray who faces 25 yearses in prison after pleading guilty to giving two 6- year-old boys candy in exchange for a sexual act.

sure other sex shops don't start to pop up in old town manassas. i'm armando trull in silver spring where a family grieves for a dead son. 27-year-old ali moment of silver spring died outside of the dc 9 club after an altercation with personnel. >> the assault was predicated by the fact he threw a rock through the window, broke a window at the establishment and was pursued by employees of the establishment. >> reporter: william speeler, the club owner, and four employees have been arrested. >> the beating like this as a result of a property damage, someone has lost their life from a savage beating that appears to be vigilante justice. >> ali's family wants answers to his death. >> he didn't deserve to die. he was 27 years old. >> what was the cause? ali was 27 years old, killed and i'm trying, the media, to

approach all and everything and try to assist the truth. that is what i need. >> reporter: the public information officer for the dc police tells us that the charges against the five men may be changed before the end of the day. gary will have more on that and the latest tonight at 11:00. the lawsuit filed on behalf of all of the black firefighters in dc is charging that the fire department has been discriminatory. between 35 and 40 people are directly involved in this suit. and they claim the department is generally a hostile work environment for black firefighters. that there's discrimination and discreptcy in the disciplinary process and discreptcies in the promotional exams taken in 2008 and 2010. the department is not yet commenting on the lawsuit. please, thank you. these are the phrases we can all take for granted from time to time but now the city of alexandria wants to make sure some people remember to use them or perhaps pay a price for

cabby said, i'm rude, and there's not a darn thing you can do about it. >> i've called. they show up on time. they have never been imp.m. polite. they are not engaging but not impolite. >> do you have a lot of rude cab drivers in alexandria? >> i don't think so. >> reporter: some cabbies say they need protection from their passengers. >> we have lost a few drivers that were killed by customers. >> reporter: it's a difficult job that cabbies say maybe we should give them a break. in alexandria, bruce leshan, 9 news now. city lawyers, by the way, have tweaked the language and now they say discipline would apply only to profane, threatening or assaultive behavior. the city council will take a look at the proposal at a hearing tomorrow. meantime a commuter alert that may mean a big headache if you are near tysons corner this weekend. route 123 will be closed in both directions. that starts in 2 1/2 hours and

woman in our a area who battled an uncommon sort of breast cancer. >> reporter: harriett's sister rebecca died of a rare form of cancer called inflammatory breast cancer or ibc. >> becca with with my two children. >> reporter: her loved ones are raising money for research on the disease. >> i was fortunate because i had a sister. and having a sister is a breasting. >> i have never heard of this. >> rebecca was diagnosed in 2007. it started with a rash on her breast. it is an aggressive cancer that spreads through the body's lymph nodes. >> this can't be true. it sound like frankenstein would have thought this up. >> reporter: it often escapes early detection because it does not appear in regular mammograms. >> what i have read it is often misdiagnosed as an infection a bite or something else. >> reporter: rebecca was a broadcast news producer who worked in the state and europe. after her diagnosis, she decided to share her story

causing a stir in at least four states tonight. the issue is what it says. i love heart boobies. it is a california-based nonprofit group which is marketing the bracelets for breast cancer awareness month but some schools in california, colorado, texas and florida have been banning them they say the language is, i guess, inappropriate. so what do you think? administrators in the schools that have banned the bracelets say they don't think the students there are mature enough to be wearing such things but if we can say boobies on tv news can't the kids wear the bracelets to draw attention to breast cancer. one charity decided to go with the slogan save the tatas and maybe that was closer to the line but share your thoughts with mcginty's mail bag. that is mailbag@wusa9.com. we are already getting feedback on the story on wusa 9's facebook page. lori writes -- and paula posts

40s and 50s to start. winds northwest at 10 to 20. by afternoon, windy and cool. still a nice day. highs near 65 and winds continue northwest at 10 to 20. if you are lucky enough to have a ticket for the redskins game, clear, breezy and cool. when you are tailgating it will be fine. but when the game starts and ends 58 to 68 is the range. a light jacket, i would recommend a light jacket and the winds not super strong but west northwest at 10 to 15. next seven days, 65 tomorrow, 72 on sunday. and then 66 on monday. showers hold off until monday night. the day is fine actually. and this is not a huge system. showers on tuesday, upper 60s, most of which will be north of the pennsylvania maryland border. chance of showers on wednesday, still not a big system and 70 on thursday mid-60s next friday. i can live with that. the weird news file, a dancing flight attendant you loved and hated them but remember them. imagine the same power in the

and progress so that maryland can avoid the fate of stills like philadelphia and pennsylvania whose overly generous pensions are bankrupting their states. it's time for new state workers to carry more of their fair share of the load of financing their retirement in an era 0 declining state revenue. a 401-k plan would be a great start. indeed bob ehrlich was straightforward on that one, wasn't he? o'malley said he had a commission looking in to it. now, to be fair that is probably a tougher call for o'malley politically, but still a mission, really? and then there was this, on the word or letters wtf now worn on the back of the wakefield track team. some think the name is too suggestive of pro fanty. brian is not one of those people -- well, okay. i'm all for freedom of expression but just because we
