veteran officer is charged. >> the main indictment involving involving ticktock liquors. >> reporter: federal officers searched the store monday and were still taking boxes into the evening. in 2007 he paid tens of hows of dollars to off duty police officers to provide security at his liquor store. authorities had wanted it closed because of crime in the neighborhood. he also actively lobbied in the county for fewer restrictions on liquor sales. the feds allege he conspired with public officials known and unknown in this scheme. >> they would pay police officers in exchange for using their official authority to assist in the transport and distribution of untaxed

cigarettes and alcohol. >> reporter: owner of prestige auto glass and auto parts was indicted. how is this relatedd with the charges against jack johnson and his wife? they only say it is. >> it's among the series of related investigations. we're not at liberty to talk about what the relationship may be. >> reporter: they want the focus elsewhere. >> we're being focused on kitchen table issues of our residents. >> reporter: he did not directly address corruption and was chased by reporters who wanted to know why. >> why are you walking away from that question? >> what we're focused on is the needs of the people. they want to make sure there's a first rate government in place and we're addressing job opportunities and school system. >> reporter: he hinted he may have more to say about the scandal when he formally assumes

office next month. >> the county's chief of police is promising accountability on all levels. >> he says he puts his force in bad light and has now put his officers on notice. >> there will be accountability at all levels. everybody will be held for the performance of their jobs to show up to work, take care of their employees and provide a proper service to this community. >> jack johnson tried to make it business as usual monday. >> he reported to work and vowed to finish his job until his term ended on december 6th. he he fused to discuss his arrest on friday for trying to conceal a 100,000-dollar check for a developer. he would not answer questions about his wife's arrest. she tried to conceal nearly

out. inflation at the wholesale level and industrial production both for october. investors are likely to react to news that gm's offer is getting bigger and more expensive. the dow added nine points in trading yesterday. the nasdaq was downpour and a half and the s&p fell by a point and a half. some investors are getting ready to bet on harrah's. the las vegas company will change its name to ceasar's entertainment right before that ipo. apple is promising an exciting itunes announcement this morning. analysts say the iphone maker may introduce a subscription based streaming service. apple has finally struck a deal with the beatles to sell on
