area. the ramp remains closed due to the car fire and fatal accident. still ahead, we're going to take a look at more maryland roads. andrea, that's up at 5:47. back to you. now, a commuter alert for those of you enduring the construction on the 14th street bridge. the traffic pattern will be changing again late tonight. ddot crews are scheduled to close lanes between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, drivers will have three lanes on the left of the temporary construction island. and one lane on the right. this is part of phase 8, the final stage of the project which should be finished this fall. well, you may be encountering some bumpy roads if you make a trip to the alexandria waterfront because crews are milling and paving along king street now. the work started this week and will continue over the next several weeks. the construction will be done on sunday through thursday 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and parking is definitely going to be limited in that area during that time.

on the outer loop, from 95 over to 270, still moving without incident. no problems to report. a little volume around university boulevard. quickly, travel times, 66 heading eastbound slowing down around 234. the inner loop is doing just fine. no complaints on 267 the dulles toll road. more virginia roads up at 6:00. back to you. making news now at 5:49, a major sandbagging effort is underway in hamburg, iowa. residents there are racing against the clock to prevent flooding from the swollen missouri river. a levee protecting the town is already leaking if it fails, part of hamburg could end up under eight feet of water. >> arizona's governor has declared a state of emergency. an out-of-control wildfire has charred more than 350 square miles and forced the evacuation of at least three towns. about 2500 firefighters are working to contain the flames. authorities are warning people south of denver about dangerous haze from that
