in the mail bag tonight, danger on the road and on the job for area taxi cab drivers who reported again today about that local driver murdered in an apparent robbery over the weekend. our good friend, deb, in arlington says it's getting
7:26 pm
crazy out there. i say it is time for real safety precautions, especially in these difficult economic times. perhaps putting a bullet proof window for the payment between the driver's seat and passenger could prevent some of the crimes. that being said, everyone is vulnerable in these times, but cab drivers are especially out there. and then we had this reaction to president obama's brand-new plan to help homeowners refinance even if they owe more on their homes than their house is worth. craig is all for it. about time for a plan to help the homeowners save, not just pay the bank for mortgage failure. this is no additional cost to the taxpayers, while giving the homeowner the opportunity to save their life savings. afterall, the true value any home is what you would pay for it. indeed it is, but remember the president's plan does not change the amount you owe on that home, you'll still be upside down on it, just the payoff will be easier.
7:27 pm
sooner or later, we'll have to deal with that. some who are able to pay are walking away rather than continue to pay. mailbag@wusa9.com for your thoughts or what you have to say. that's our report. i'll be back at 11:00 along with anita brikman. tonight, drag queens racing in high heels. it's a dc tradition. i'll tell you more at 11:00. bye bye.
