restaurant association and surae chinn is live outside in northwest washington. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. good morning to you mike. yes, the republican front runner is denying any of these accusations but according to politico.com, two women claim that herman cain sexually harassed them while he was heading this national lobbying group. the national restaurant association here in washington, d.c.. >> we have no idea the source of this witch hunt. which is really what it is. we have no idea. >> reporter: herman cain says he doesn't remember the details of these allegations of sexual harassment that were made against him in the 1990s. the former pizza company executive is responding to a political report that said the trade group gave financial settlements to at least two female employees who had accused cain of inappropriate sexual behavior. >> while at this restaurant association, i was accused of

sexual harassment. falsely accused i might add. i was falsely accused of sexual harassment and when the charges were brought, as the leader of the organization i recused myself. >> reporter: the restaurant association has declined to comment about this situation and you might be wondering how this might affect herman cain's campaign and also know he's not your conventional candidate. he has skyrocketed to the top of the polls edging out mitt romney in some cases and some of the polls and so his conservative base is rallying around him. as he casts himself as a victim of the media and liberals but at the same time, it could cause some donors to shy away if his campaign at the same time. -- from his campaign at the same time. we'll see how all this affects his overall campaign. back to you andrea and mike.

virginia governor bob mcdonnell is calling on federal republicans to apologize for an e-mail picture. it's even captured the attention of the secret service. judge for yourself, take a look. the main image shows president obama as a zombie and also includes a bullet wound to his head. also in the e-mail image an image of disfigured house minority leader nancy pelosi. but no comment from the white house or congresswoman pelosi's office on this. new at 6:00 a.m., is d. c. city council member is telling a prominent congressman to butt out. democrat counselor mary cay will bring up an emergency resolution in the districts affairs. it's a reaction to congressman darrell isay. he wants a federal bill requiring federal background check for any mayoral appointees in the city. chay backs a similar bill but says his bill is unnecessary

and basically insulting. her bill was prompted by sulaimon brown who was fired after about a month. a violent halloween night in the district. six people are shot across five different spots in the city. and you can see that the scenes are quite spread out stretching from georgetown to pet worth to congress heights no one was killed in any of the shootings. police are still on the scene of at least one of the shootings. this is a live look at 28th and m streets in georgetown. police have deemed this spot one of the most serious. they're talking with at least one possible suspect right now. a child and woman were shot in the pet worth neighborhood. this shooting happened just after 9:00 at georgia avenue and decatur streets northwest. boast of the victims were hit in the leg and no suspects or motive in this indebt. when hid brittany norwood go from a supposed victim to jayna murray's systemed killer? suspected killer? monday, prosecutors laid out a timeline explaining how norwood tried to cover up the killing

report by the president's physician. he deems the president fit eating a healthy diet and he says he's tobacco-free. now over the howard. thanks mike. you know all the week we're talking about keeping your heart healthy leading up to the greater d. c. heart walk this saturday. this morning we're joined by dr. shawn howell. she's a cardiology. thanks for coming in early. >> thanks howard. >> yesterday we were talking to a young 42-year-old woman who had a heart attack and they weren't quite and she was having it. why such a difference between men and women and why do doctors sometimes maybe not recognize when women are having heart attacks like men? >> sometimes women, we don't always present with the typical crushing and chest discomfort as men have. sometimes our symptoms will be subtle. instead of crushing chest pain it might be a chest ache, tiredness, fatigue, shortness of breath and palpitations and

lightheadedness and dizziness and sometimes the symptoms aren't always triggered as heart attacks. >> how do you test for that? how do you know? >> basically the first step could be the ekg. that can tell us right then and there if they're having a heart attack. >> i remember my dad had the history of heart attack disease and they did the enzyme tests, are they still doing that? >> they are. cardiac enzymes are usually drawn every eight hours. >> you can see whether or not that changed. what should i be doing? we're taking statins and got the fish oil and baby aspirin. is that enough? >> actually, exercise, trying to lower your weight will actually help to lower your blood pressure as well as your cholesterol. and your blood sugars and these are all risk factors that will lead to coronary artery disease. >> as a doctor you must see people coming to your office

also go to wusa9.com and join the channel 9 team. we have a link at the top of the home page again at wusa9.com. let's switch gears and get to weather the morning with -- this morning with the bus stop forecast. many temperatures down in the 30s. good morning though to get out and take a walk and be heart healthy. the 40s and even 50 by the way and we've got clouds east and some folks are looking at a few sprinkles along the chesapeake and especially on the eastern shore from a storm system that just missed us overnight. 47 at 9:00. by 11:00, 52. north winds are running 5 to 10 miles an hour today with upper 50s to even 60ish for a high. so a pretty nice afternoon to start the month of november. and considering just a couple of days ago we had snow across the region. this morning you can see the showers that have been falling basically southeastern virginia to the delmarva but look back here to the east and southeast. still have some showers which are lingering right along coastal areas especially calvert county right now.

you can see this as we look over to live doppler 9000 hd, well, some of the showers along the bay having a tough time on the east side but see a little yellow there? that's a heavier shower. and that's it. so this storm system is pulling away. but with the clouds in that storm system,mages like a blank -- acts like a blanket that holds that heat in. 40s and low 50s from southern maryland but where the skies have clears it's a completely different story. lots of 30s, a very cold morning out there jackets and gloves needed for sure. now we're down to 45 as we start to clear out at reagan national. feeling like 41 with that wind out of the north-northwest at 8 and our dew point a very comfortable 40 degrees. start thinking about humidifiers soon. one stretched out front here in the northern plains, that's the one piece of weather that may get us here before the week is out. and other than that, we're just watching the storm system off

inside now to monika samtani with your timesaver traffic. start off with a look at the beltway which is looking fine all around town and heading in from baltimore using 95 or the vw parkway, they've both been running incident free. a live look at the beltway once you get there on the outer loop from 95 to georgia avenue you'll be on the brakes pretty much that whole stretch westbound on 495. back to the maps this time a look at 270. there are no problems coming down on 270 but we'll take a live look at it right now. it's slow basically from father hurley boulevard most of the way down to i'd say rockville. also in myersville eastbound on i-70 at route 17, an overturned truck it happened an a hour ago along the right side of the road. authorities are on the scene. before i go i have a commuter alert. you'll be paying more today for most of the tolls in maryland. cash tolls are now $3 at the fort mchenry and harbor tunnels in baltimore as well as the key bridge. it's up to $4 at the nice bridge on route 301 and across

acela express. later today we could learn if names of two people killed in prince george's county overnight. it looked like this around 11:00 last night. wood yard road in upper marlboro. this happens near melwood pond park. it sent the car into a patch of grass. authorities say the two people died were killed at the scene. medics rushed a third person to the 4079. police blame a sneezing fit for that fatal van wreck. he had one apparently monday along route 50 in salisbury. a passenger died when that white van crashed into a tree. the driver may wind up facing criminal charges in the case. it didn't take a judge long to convict an illegal immigrant of felony murder in a drunk driving crash that killed a nun. carlos montano struck and killed sister denise mosier and hurt two other nuns.

departing executives. they were created to be a poison pill for hostile takeovers but that never worked. they just got bigger. like this one. neighbors industries is an oil drilling company. eugeneizeenberg is getting a $100 million payout and here's a bigger catch. he's not even leaving the company. he has been relieved of his ceo post but going to stay on as chairman. believe it or not his package was supposed to be worth $264 million. but it was cut back after shareholders objected. several years ago. there's new pressure on bank of america to drop the $5 monthly charge it's planning for customers who make purchases with their debit cards. the latest companies backing away from the fee, suntrust will no longer charge a $5 a month fee for debit card purchases and regions financial will nix the $4 monthly fee.
