the questions later this week. he and his fellow gop candidates will meat for two debates in the next six days. the white house. sharon says she did not notify the national restaurant association when this incident occurred because he wasn't working for the trade group. she does, however, have the sworn statements of the two people she did tell her story to at that time. he has no plans to file a lawsuit or any claim against cain today. >> guilty of involuntary manslaughter. that was the jury verdict today in the trial of dr. conrad murray. it took about eight hours of deliberations for the jury to decide that he was indeed responsible for the death of michael jackson. prosecutors argued that murray killed the superstar by giving him the powerful anesthetic, propofol. the doctor failed to monitor jackson and delayed calling 911 the day the singer died. >> michael is watching over us. jackson is very happy. >> murray will be sentenced in

november. he faces up to four years in prison. he could have his medical license suspended or lose it for good. the tension is growing between the occupy dc protesters and the metropolitan police department. now that follows an incident friday night outside the washington convention center in which a driver allegedly plowed into a line of protesters and police didn't charge him with anything. five demonstrators were hurt and had to be treated at two local hospitals. tonight, some new video surfaced at the scene. the demonstrators were trying to prevent people attending a conservative political event from getting out of the building. some demonstrators used their own young children to block the door. >> a thousand people were trapped inside the building for a time, because a lot of these folks were barricading the door shut and people couldn't get out. several elderly women were knocked to the ground. >> the demonstrators were upset that police refused it

interview the victims after they claimed that motorists drove into the crowd. police said the case is still an active investigation. tonight, police are investigating another report of an attempted abduction. an eight-year-old girl says four men tried to coax her into a van just a few blocks away from her home friday. she did get away. but as lindsey mastis reports, this is the fifth reported abduction attempt in spotsylvania county since mid october. >> it's a high number of attempted abductions in just a few weeks. each time, the descriptions of the suspects change. lieutenant colonel says he doesn't know why, but he does have some theories. >> there's the potential for copy cats. >> you remember in may of last year, someone was arrested for an attempted abduction, that ended up being false. >> some in the community wonder as well.

>> it's people copying each other, like you said. copy cats, because they are just rude people. >> i think it's just either gang activity or just people trying to play on the hysteria. just copy cats. >> why would somebody do that? >> people are sick. >> investigators are treating each case as credible. starting with october 13. in that case, nlgt investigators are on the lookout for this suspect, one for allegedly trying to abduct a 15-year-old girl. october 21 along polaras drive, a 9-year-old was targeted. police released this court instructs the jury of . a few days later on october 29, a 20- year-old was targeted and just last saturday, november 5, an 8- year-old girl told police up to four men tried to make her get into a van. lindsey mastis, 9news now. in some of these cases,

those attempted abductions were not reported right away. the cops are urging people, please, call the police immediately. tonight, a frostburg state student said he did not kill a former student over the weekend. 22-year-old shanee liggins was charged of stabbing to death kortneigh mccoy. but in court monday, she claims she is innocent. i'm in maryland where new details were revealed in court documents today about a fight between students that led to the death of a girl from baltimore. >> it was a big student party at a rental house, footsteps away from the campus. a party where liggins was collecting a cover charge at the door. according to court documents, before a fight broke out inside. moments later, 19-year-old courtney mccoy of baltimore was standing outside with friends after being ejected from the party. liggins approached. at least four witnesses said they saw liggins with a knife in her hand. either before, during, or after

at issue, whether police can track a car through gps without a warrant. that stems from a case right here in washington. a nightclub owner was arrested and convicted on drug charges after police secretly attached a gps device to his car. last year, the u.s. court of appeals overturned the conviction ruling that using the gps violated jones' privacy. federal prosecutors are appealing that decision. they argue police do not need to warrant because jones was traveling on the public roads. we are still a full year away from the big 2012 elections. a lot of us will be heading to the polls tomorrow to take local and state lawmakers. in virginia, voters will pick delegates for the general assembly. polls in the commonwealth are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. over in maryland, some will be voting in municipal elections. and you can get a lot more on elections in your neighborhood on our website. wusa9.com. coming up, the warmup is on

to police today. tim curly and gary schultz are charged with failing to report suspected child abuse. they are charged with covering up jerry sandusky. prosecutors say they found out sandusky had allegedly sexually assaulted a boy in 2002 in a shower on campus. they didn't immediately call the cops. >> they are in action, likely allowed a child predator to continue to victimize children for many, many years. >> both curly and schultz resigned from their positions, but they say they did nothing wrong. now he denies all those charges. sandusky worked as a top assistant for the penn state coach, joe paterno for three decades. penn state alumni are reeling from these charges. including forme penn state

case run its course? the address is mailbag@wusa9.com. the ageneral di denied a request from the state of virginia. bob mcdonnell asked for aid in november that found homes and other properties damaged from tropical storm lee. that request was rejected. five people were killed in fairfax county. 500 were displaced after all that flooding. fema denied his original request for earthquake victims in louisa county, but they reversed that decision last week. the agency approved some federal aid for people affected by tropical storm lee in five counties in maryland, including howard, anne arundel, and prince georges. virginia has not decided if it will appeal that decision. okay. well, we won't even talk about all that bad weather in the past. >> it is so nice. a little more like october than november. we had peer sun today and we

have peer sun yesterday. we rarely saw a cloud. let's talk about the picture of the sun. a massive sun spot. highlighted there with the arrow. you could put several earths. there's correlation that sun spots can lead a cold winter. and also it can trigger the northern lights like it did the last couple weeks. that's a good picture. nice job from stafford, virginia. let's talk about satellite picture radar combined. this is our next storm and kicking up a lot of storms and thunderstorms and tornadoes out into portions of oklahoma and kansas. now, this is not going to be that potent when it gets here. we have a system off the southeast coast. we'll watch that for tropical characteristics. we are clear right now. we are looking fantastic again tonight and not as cold tonight as it has been.

51 in bethesda. 55 in arlington. pockets of 40s. 48 in latenville and 47 out in reston. so temperatures are falling pretty quickly. not quite as fast as they did saturday night and sunday night. still great though. chilly start on tuesday. a little patchy fog in the morning. should not be a commuting problem. and mild through thursday before the cold front changes our weather pattern. clear and chilly tonight. one blanket night. lows 34 to 44 with light wind. lows inside the beltway, temperatures should hold in the low to mid 40s tonight. i take you down into springfield. 41 in arlington. but plenty of 30s. 36 in college park and down to the south. 39 at waldorf. sterling, hernden, 34 also in manassas. tomorrow morning, sunny and chilly. patchy fog early. you need a light jacket and your shades. temperatures in the 30s and 40s. good news for tomorrow.

fantastic day. light winds once again. that 65 to 70 is going to feel nice. mostly sunny and spectacular again. all right, next seven days. we'll keep it mild on wednesday with just a few clouds. 63, and then the front will get here by thursday. it may generate a few showers. right now, it's not going to be a huge rain producer. but it will knock down the temperatures. temperatures will struggle to get to 50 on veteran's day, but the weekend looks good. 60 on sunday. >> nice. very nice. >> let's talk about squirrels. because they are cute little creatures. that apparently love to play the piano. you see the pictures right there. that's from tampa, florida, where photographer kathy prune apparently has either a precocious garden creature in her backyard or something kind of squirrly about these pictures of squirrels tickling the ivories or doing other things we thought only people could do. how do they get them to shoot

in the mail bag tonight, herman cain, the woman number four, now comes forward to accuse him of sexual harassment. this time we have a name and a face to go with the charges. harold in germantown says that is not enough. this is just a smear campaign. i see no reason to give her and her attorney air time. especially since they filed no police report, did not bring the attention to anyone of authority and has never stepped forward until now, now that mr. kaine is the leading candidate for president 13 years later. she has no proof. she just has the news media to crucify mr. cain. you're right, but a lot of her details are verifyable. she met with cain at the time and place she talked about and came to dc at the time as well. and she has the affidavits from

the people she did tell about the alleged incident when it allegedly happened. could all of this be nonsense? sure. however, now four women say there is an issue here. not to mention the $70,000 worth of payoffs to two of them. if we didn't report this, we wouldn't do our job. to our sad and local profootball team, the skins making it four losses in a row yesterday, yet our good friend craig somehow has found an upside. the redskins did better than i expected yesterday. the defense is back, but we still need the offense. looking at the remaining schedule, i realize that the better part of the season may be behind us. there may be no simple solution for the redskins, but i will be there to support them whether it's rain or shine. you know what, craig, that is the very definition of love is when you hang in there, even though it's tough. you can be with us at mcginty's mail bag.
