. after a weekend of violence, the occupy dc people show us new video that refutes the claims of police. plus topper is tracking how long this sunny fall weather will last. and an expert in political campaigns tells us why a new accuser now sells the end of the line for herman cain. after a week of second hand generic allegations of sexual harassment by herman cain, that story took a more graphic turn

today. >> a woman described in detail a sexual assault that she says took place here in washington in a car on the street outside the national restaurant association back in 1997 when cain was its president. gary nurenberg brings us up-to-date. >> reporter: the chicago area woman is sharon bialek who says she asked cain for help finding a job. parked outside the restaurant association. >> he put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals. he also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch. i said what are you doing. mr. cain said you want a job, right? i asked him to stop and he did. >> reporter: the campaign released a statemet saying all allegations of harassment against mr. cain are completely false. mr. cain has never harassed anyone. the restaurant association did make monetary settlements with two women who claim cain had harassed them. cain denied those claims of harassment last week. washington lawyer debora cats.

>> his response to the story was essentially to throw oil on the fire. he accused these women of having an improper motive. he accused these women of conducting a witch hunt, of truming up charges and -- trumping up charges and being liars. he has encouraged other people with knowledge to come forward and tell the truth. >> you can start a whole book about how to handle a crisis by saying this is what the herman cain campaign did. don't do that. >> reporter: the republican campaign expert rich gayland of mulingz.com. >> is the campaign over? >> i think it probably will be. i think it's probably the end of line? and not just because this accuser has a name and a face and a specific story. >> the bigger thing is that it's the fourth one. i mean, the first one i say it never happened. the second one, well, something happened but it was a misunderstanding. the third one it happened and think what you can think. >> reporter: taken after the

first allegations last week but before today's claim showed mr. cain tied. but will those numbers hold now that a specific woman has made specific claims about a specific incident that is just plain creepy. we should know the answer to that in a few days. just moments ago reporters covering the cain campaign called her a woman with a long history of severe financial troubles. also cain will hold a press conference tomorrow to respond to the story. derek. >> thank you, gary. tonight occupy dc is fighting back against the accusations that they are a violent group following a dramatic clash with the police over the weekend. delia gongalves is live and she has their side of the story. >> reporter: you know as everyone else does here in dc, this park has become home and headquarters for members of

occupy dc. and tonight those demonstrators refute the claims of the police chief that they started the violence that landed five people in the hospital. >> there was no intention for any kind of aggressive behavior. that's not -- we are a non-violent movement. >> reporter: but that message of non-violence and those images of friday's demonstration are quite the contradiction. angry protestors blocking the doors of the convention center, so people including this women in a wheelchair couldn't leave the convention. one demonstrate orror using her children to block the doors. >> we are not using children. we are individuals and individuals make decisions. >> reporter: how did it get out of control that way? >> i think maybe the physical proximity of the people to the building had something to do with it. >> reporter: video showed two

elderly women knocked to the ground. what the video didn't show was how one fell. for that, dc occupy tonight posted this new clip on its website showing a man from the convention pushing through the crowd and toppling over the witness. five protestors were struck by a car after it cut through the crowd blocking the road. police didn't charge the driver but he intentionally drove towards them. >> we do appreciate the police escorts we've had on the marches. i think overall we have had a good relationship with them and i'm confident our marches and protests will be as good as they have. >> reporter: but the police have said the aggressive nature of friday's demonstration officers are now adjusting their tactic. demonstrators here tell me tomorrow they will unveil new video that shows police officers

were the aggressors on friday. the saga over who is to blame in michael jackson's death has come to an end. >> we the jury find the defendant conrad robert murray guilty of the crime of involuntary manslaughter. >> and it took that jury less than nine hours to pin the pop star's death on his personal doctor. prosecutors argued murray gave jackson a lethal dose of the anesthetic propathol and then failed to call 911 the night the singer died. the defense tried and failed to argue that it was jackson who injected himself with the powerful drug to help him sleep. sentencing is set for september 29th. he faces four years in prison and could lose his medical license. well, could joe pa ter no --

paterno penn's head coach stop child abuse. yes. now paterno who is college football's oldest, winningness and most re veered coach did come forward to his bosses to talk but he never went to cops. >> this is not a case about football. it's not a case about universities. it's a case about children who have had their innocence stolen from them. and a culture that did nothing to stop it. >> senior vice president gary shultz and athletic director tim can you recally have been charged. prosecutors say they found out that sandusky had allegedly sexually assaulted a boy in a shower on campus but then did not immediately tell the police. police arrested sandusky on saturday. he's been charged with sexually abusing eight boys for more than

a decade. well, what would cause someone to stab a woman in the neck and head and kill her? that is the question tonight as one frostburg state university student stands behind bars and another sits in the morgue. police say 23-year-old shah nee shanee liggins kill kortneigh mccoy. mccoy got kicked out of a party and left with a group of friends. liggins followed her outside and that's when mccoy was stabbed. but liggins claims somebody else did it. she has been charged with first and second degree murder. she is now being held without bail. in the last month, there have been at least five attempted abductions in spotsylvania county with the last one happening just this past yeekened. an 8-year-old -- weekend. an 8-year-old girl says two men tried to coax her into a van. instead she went home and told

her parents who called police. police have released a photo or a sketch of the suspect. however, they don't believe any of these crimes are connected. >> there is always the potential for copycats and there is always the potential with copycats for hysteria. >> remember in may of last year someone was arrested for an attempted abduction. that turned out to be totally false. >> now, if you do have any information about any of these attempted abductions, call the spotsylvania county sheriff's office. defense attorneys in the case of a murder lacrosse player at the university of virginia will now try to use her medical records to help their case. george huguely's lawyers say the woman died because of prescription medication and alcohol. the trial is set to begin in february and huguely is facing first degree murder charges. an 8-year-old autistic boy who went missing for almost a week is now back home with his

family. robert wood junior left the hospital today. he had suffered a small hole in his esophagus and some other minor injuries while he was lost in the woods for several days. he wandered off from his relatives on october 23rd during a walk at the park in hanover county virginia. he turned up in a rock quarry. in tonight's health alert, more evidence linking popular birth control pills to a higher risk of serious blood clots. new research shows deep vein clots are even more likely for women taking newer birth control pills like yaz. people taking the so-called next generation of pills have a greater chance of developing a clot than women taking older birth control containing a different hormone. they contain a synthetic hormone. the overall risk is very small

but they should discuss other factors for clotting with their doctors. >> family history, obesity and other medications which can increase your risk of blood clot. >> and the biggest risk of all is smoking. while you're on the pill. that is a no-no. no matter what brand a woman is using. so these new pills are riskier, why would anyone take them? >> there were a lot of reasons women were into it. yaz has been marketed with less weight gain. now we're getting more information on the blood clot risk and women who have high blood pressure. if they're overweight, if they're over 35, they need to talk to their doctor about whether it's a good idea. >> what about the ones that don't have health factors. >> one of the blood clottings is in the first few months. after four months or so it levels off and young and healthy

gunman and they held the positions until police could arrive. we have some late breaking news. the associated press is reporting joe frazier has just died. the 67-year-old boxer had been fighting liver cancer since being diagnosed last month. he has been in and out of the hospital and was getting hospice care. frazier was the first man to beat muhammad ali. he would go on to lose two more fights to ali, including the epic thrilla in manilla. for boxing fans, the name joe frazier and muhammad allyli will forever be remembered. tonight derek is hoping smoking joe has found a measure of peace. >>. >> anita, when i heard the sad, sad news, it took me back it a conversation i had with smoking joe back in the 1990s when i managed to corner him in the

off to the southeast coast. it could become subtropical. the national hurricane center is watching that. but for tonight we have clear skies. another fantastic night really. now here is what is going to happen now. a chilly start to tuesday. you need a light jacket but a mild to warm finish again. now, you need your sunglasses. and the good news, still mild and still dry on wednesday. so at least through wednesday we're dry. probably mild through thursday. overnight clear skies, chilly. we'll call it a one blanket night. low 34-44 with light winds. by morning, mostly sunny and chilly. could see some patchy foggerly, primarily -- fog early. 30s and 40s. kids will need a jacket too. carry them home in the afternoon but it's going to be chilly to start. afternoon sunny and spectacular again. need the shades. sun is going down now at 5:01. before the week is done it will go down at 5:00.

well, i'm starting to hear an echo, another week, another loss, what went wrong in the redskins game. once again the offense was lacking. there wasn't much else to write home about. injuries have taken the blame but it's not an excuse anymore. it's the next man up. but unfortunately for the redskins, those next men have their little experience. they all got their first start of their pro career sunday all led by inexperienced quarterback. so is washington officially in rebuild mode? >> you lose a star that is a veteran player and you play a young guy, you're playing your next best player. is that considered rebuilding? i don't think so. you're trying to win the game. some young players are getting experience. if that's what you call rebuilding, we're rebuilding.

little added pep in his skate. he sat out nursing a sprained right ankle. he wants to play tomorrow night but don't hold hope. after practice today the capitals had fun on the ice. they treated 100 members of tap to lunch and a skating party. taps is a national program that helps family who lost loved ones in iraq and afghanistan. capitals forward were on hand to skate with the kids. mike shanahan made the front page of the washington post with this lovely face look of his after the loss. we asked our viewers to provide captions. we got some good ones and here is our winner. kyle, you're grounded.
