we'll take a look at a video of what fairfax county police and virginia state police are dealing with at 3:50 this morning. a jeep on fire. it was a mechanical issue. luckily, no one was hurt. smoke was billowing up in the air. they did have all lanes blocked on 395 southbound at duke street. this is video. all lanes are open through landmark north and southbound on 395. let's take a look at our maps right now. if you're planning to head over to the beltway, everything's doing well. we'll zoom into the south side of town and take a look at 95. let's take a look at the camera in springfield. no problems to report as you head up from dale city. up toward springfield and again on to 395, where all lanes are open. you're good to go all the way to the 14th street bridge. back over to the maps. let's go to the side of town. dulles toll road from leesburg, no problems on 66, route 123 through tysons and the beltway here at the american legion

bridge looks good as well. coming up, we'll go into maryland at 5:10. andrea and mike? >> today, republican presidential hope. herman cain will be holding a news conference to address the sexual allegations against him. >> cain has been denying the charges. a fourth accuser is going into detail about what she claims happened to her in northwest washington. surae chinn is outside the national restaurant association with more on this story. good morning, surae. >> reporter: good morning, andrea and mike. all of the sexual harassment allegations come at a time when g.o.p. front-runner was president here at the restaurant -- national restaurant association back in the 1990s. so, we had the first two women who came forward and now this fourth person, the first to really go public. she's 50-year-old sharon alec he was looking for a shop and approached herman cain for help. she had gone to dinner with cain about 14 years ago and

drove by and parked outside here. she described what happened next during a new york press conference with high profile attorney gloria allred by her side. >> he put his hand on my leg, under my skirt and reached for my genitals. he also grabbed my head and brought it toward his crotch. i said what are you doing? mr. cain said you want a job, right? i asked him to stop and he did. >> well, the cain campaign released a statement saying all allegations against mr. cain are completely false. mr. cain has never harassed anyone and will actually -- we'll actually hear from herman cain when he appeared last night on jimmy kimmel live coming up at 5:30. andrea and sneak. >> surae, will he address this latest claim later on? >> you know, besides going on live tv last night, you know, he had said he wasn't going to talk about this anymore. but then this fourth accusation

came forward and so now he says he is going to be addressing it later on today in phoenix. that's going to happen around this afternoon, early afternoon in phoenix. back to you, andrea. >> surae chinn reporting live outside the national restaurant association. she'll have updates later in our newscast. the lawyers for the defendant in the university of virginia lacrosse murder will get access to the victim's medical records. george huguely's lawyers claim yeardley love died from a mix of alcohol and prescription medication that affected her heart. but prosecutors say huguely killed love by slamming her head into a wall during an argument in may of 2010. huguely is set to go on trial in february. five reports of attempted child abductions in spotsylvania county, the last -- all in the last month. investigators are trying to find answers in each of the cases. the latest was saturday. an 8-year-old girl told police two men tried to coax her into a van near satterfield court. she ran home, told her parents who then called investigators. in two of the incidents, police

have since released a photo or sketch of the suspect. it appears tensions between occupy d.c. protestors and police are settling back down. friday, some of the protestors locked doors to the convention center where conservative group was meeting. that group released video showing two women having been knocked to the ground. occupy organizers have now released video that appears to have a person from the conservative group barreling through the crowd and knocking people over. protestors say they're also talking more to police about what happened friday night when a car struck some of the demonstrators. five minutes after 5:00 time for the latest "your money" report this morning. >> jessica doyle is here with today's headlines. good morning. >> good morning. wall street has been holding up given the fact we're watching europe, something wall street has very little control of. the center of attention is shifting from greece to italy. italy also is facing huge debts and slow growth. they're hoping greece is containing its debt.

the dow stands at 12,068, added 84 points in trading yesterday. nasdaq was up by 9. s&p 500 was up by 8 points. one of the world's most successful investors has been buying stock, a lot of it! warren buffett's berkshire hathaway invested about $24 billion in the third quarter. that is the most money in at least 15 years! meantime, americans have been cutting back on their credit cards for the third month in a row in september but the federal reserve says americans did borrow more to buy cars and attend college. the latest report suggests consumers are being cautious about taking in high interest debt in the weak economy. still though looks like we're ready to shop. u.p.s. says sending packages, deliveries the week before christmas could rise 6% compared with last year as more shoppers wait until the last minute to buy their gifts online. we're getting ready for that big christmas rush. >> i'm going to be done by thanksgiving. >> good for you. >> very good!

investigators think gas may have fueled a large house fire there. this is in the 63 hundred block of indian run parkway. it took firefighters more than an hour to get it under control. two people at the home are now in temporary shelters. a metrobus and a d.c. fire truck collided early this morning. the crash happened at wheeler road and valley avenue in southeast washington. the bus driver, a passenger and a firefighter were transported to local hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries. no word yet on the cause of the accident or whether either driver was at fault. after days of denials and dismissals, today herman cain plans to hold a news conference about the sexual harassment claims against him. four women have now accused the republican presidential candidate of behaving inappropriately. 9news now reporter surae chinn is live outside the national restaurant association where cain worked in the late 1990s and where some of the alleged events may have taken place. surae? >> reporter: mike, before he

addresses this officially on this latest claim in phoenix this afternoon, he went on abc's jimmy kimmel live last night. take a listen. >> there's not an ounce of truth in all of these accusations. here's one thing people don't know about herman cain. i'm in it to win it. i won't be discouraged by all of this -- [ cheering ] >> reporter: 50-year-old sharon, the fourth woman to accuse cain of sexual harassment but the first to go public and with explicit detail about what had allegedly happened 14 years ago when she asked cain for help in securing a job at the national restaurant association. well, now, a new "usa today" gallup poll taken after the first accusations but before the latest one shows herman cain now tied with mitt romney in the g.o.p. run. the scandal does appear to be having some type of negative effect on the cain campaign. at least anecdotally. the latest poll shows 35% of

republican voters now say they have a negative feeling about cain and that's up from 18% from last month. mike? >> thank you, surae. surae is live in front of the national restaurant headquarters. an invasion of privacy or good police work. that's what the u.s. supreme court will hear some arguments on today. at issue, whether police can track a car through gps without a warrant. this stems from a case here in d.c. where a nightclub owner, antoine jones, was arrested and convicted on drug charges after police secretly attached a gps device to his car. last year, the u.s. court of appeals overturned the conviction ruling that the gps violated jones' right to privacy. they're appealing saying people have no expectation of privacy when it comes to traveling on public roads. today, voters in virginia and maryland head to the polls in. the commonwealth, they'll be choosing state delegates, school board members and sheriffs. in maryland, the majority of the races are for county

councils or mayor. in virginia, polls will open at 6:00al and stay ep until 7:00 p.m. in maryland, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. later this morning, derrek leeon davis will be sworn in as councilman for district six. last month, davis won the seat left vacantly lessey johnson. johnson resigned after pleading guilty to federal corruption charges. she's waiting to be sentenced. time for another "your money" report. jessica is back with a new incentive to hire veterans. >> the senate has cleared a way for a measure that would give tax incentives for hiring veterans. the tax credits would give us $9600 for companies for hiring disabled vets out of work for six months or more. the measure is beginning to move toward approval just ahead of friday's veterans day. veterans who left military service in the past decade have an unemployment rate of 11.7%,

well above the national average of 9.1%. there doesn't seem to be much relief to the housing market. 60% of homebuilders say home sales in october were flat or lower than in september. another report shows foreclosure rates have almost doubled from this time last year. just in time for the holiday shopping season, barnes & noble has rolled out its latest version of the nook. the lightweight tablet lets you read books, stream movies and browse the web at $249, the new nook is half the price of the ipad. amazon.com's new tablet is $50 cheaper. barnes & noble says its device offers more memory and longer battery life and the company plans to slash the price of the original nook to $99. it is going to be very tough competition this year for the tablets at christmas. >> the holidays. >> i'm for the first time thinking of buying one. that $500 price. >> it is expensive, the ipad, for sure.

now, nationally, cold stuff out west. warmer stuff in the southern plains. dallas, 71. of course, they've had tornadic thunderstorms off to the west. little red box, that's a tornado watch box. as this line of severe storms moving off toward the east. lots of it yesterday in oklahoma. oklahoma had an earthquake a couple of days ago. last night, yesterday afternoon, a few tornadoes. rains extend up to missouri. they're moving into chicago. that's not good for air travel and the east, much of the east coast, high and dry thanks to high pressure in control. that is what's going to be with us for today and tonight. however, as we get into late tomorrow and thursday really, that system out west is going to move east. other than the late night early morning fog today and again tomorrow, the next weather maker moves in here wednesday night into thursday morning. you'll notice the showers out to the west. clouds moving in. not nearly as pleasant on thursday and then the chilly air moves in friday. that's a one-day affair but friday, we may not get out of the 40s.

68 today and tomorrow. after being in the 30s and 40s. for thursday, more clouds. friday, the cold day of the week. 49 for veterans day. breezy as well. we'll call it blustery. saturday and sunday look good for the weekend. upper 50s to low 60s. again, another nice monday with highs in the mid-60s. monika samtani, looks like that list is getting a little longer than the last time i peeked at it. >> just a little. even is i weensy tiny bit. rush hour is in full force right now. luckily, the beltway is looking good. we do have an incident westbound on the bay bridge. it is an accident on the east side of the span of the bay bridge. watch out for it in the left lane as you cross the bay bridge itself, you'll be ok heading over in toward i-97. let's take a look at route 50. no problems to report here as you head for the beltway and in toward cheverly. we'll go over to the sousa bridge, inbound on pennsylvania avenue. if you're planning to head into the southeast area, you'll be

ok. anacostia and potomac river crossings are doing fine. if you're planning to head on to the trains, back to the map, a heads up at dupont circle, 19th street entrance, the escalators are out of service. they're asking for shuttle service for you. but the station remains open. coming up, we'll go into maryland at 6:00. andrea and mike? >> thank you, monika. >> former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky is expected in court tomorrow on child sex abuse charges. >> sandusky is accused of sexually assaulting eight boys when he worked at the school. two former top university officials surrendered to authorities monday related to this. they're accused of covering up the scandal. >> all across the country, penn state alumni are reeling from the very disturbing charges including former redskins all pro linebacker and a former penn state star, lavar arrington. >> bruce johnson sat down with arrington who said if the allegations turn out to be true, all of those held

responsible should be held accountable. >> lavar arrington was at the mic this afternoon to first talk about the redskins loss -- >> disturbing. >> as well as the at-risk children seen around the penn state football program that weighed heavily on his mind today. >> did you get a chance to spend time with kids in the program? >> yes, yes, yes. like i said, i never felt any discomfort. i never felt as though like something didn't feel right when i was around some of these kids that jerry was bringing around. >> the late 1990s, lavar arrington was an all-american linebacker on a great penn state defense. he says he always had the utmost respect for long-time defensive coordinator jerry sandusky and joe paterno's heir apparent was charged with 40 counts of sexually abusing the boys in the program that sandusky founded. >> if people had knowledge of this and they did not do anything, if jerry sandusky did
