the next half hour. mike, andrea? >> we just saw shots of people repairing the windows where we know at least two bullets struck the white house. but what other ballistic evidence does the secret service have and what are they telling us? >> reporter: we know they found nine shell casings but again, only one cracked the living quarters there -- cracked the window of the living quarters of the first family. we do know that the president and the first lady were not here at the time. they were in san diego but still, ortega-hernandez is charged with attempted assassination on the president. he faces life in prison. andrea? >> all right, surae chinn reporting live from the white house. an assistant coach at another university has been put on leave over accusations of child sex abuse. syracuse's assistant coach bernie fine is accused of molesting a ball boy in the 1980s and '90s. the head coach jim boeheim say the matter was brought up in 2005 and at the time the allegations were determined to

be unfounded. the florida civil rights association is asking the u.s. department of justice to investigate alleged civil rights abuses by two virginia state troopers. the association accuses the troopers of using excessive force, racial slurs, ethnic jokes and vulgar language against an hispanic woman at the scene of a traffic accident on 395 in july. she was arrested after refusing to sign a traffic summons. despite large numbers of arrests in other cities, police didn't take any occupy d. c. protestors into custody thursday. local protestors decided to act by marching to the key bridge a spot president obama recently visited to promote his plan to create jobs. officers partially blocked the streets as they marched and some were prepared in case things went wrong as they did in other cities. >> we were wondering if the

we saw another bad quarter and troubling outlook for gap as it heads into the critical shopping season. the company which runs gap stores in addition to banana republic and old navy says third quarter profits fell 36%. gap has been struggling for six years to reclaim its former fashion status. the company intends to cut its square footage in the u.s. by 10% by 2013. the quote tastiest ride was named motor trendies car of the year. it is the volkswagen pass sat. it has a clean and simple styling you typically see on expensive luxury vehicles. prices for a mid-sized passat start at $20,000. pretty cute. >> yeah. they're sharp looking and they're less than a lot of other vehicles out there. >> that's right. absolutely. what do you have for us in

the capitals are being very red skin-esque lately. since starting the season 7-0. they have gone 3-5-1 and in recent games their defense has been pretty lackluster and well, last night wasn't any better. caps in winnipeg taking on the jets in the first period, alex semin gets the caps on the board first. but in the second, the caps now down by one on the break away but they miss the goal. jets the get the puck right back and blake wheeler scores. the jets scored three goals in just over four minutes in the second period. caps lose in canada 4-1. mark turgin and the terps taking on alabama in puerto rico. james padgett led maryland with just nine points and five rebounds. terps lose on day one in puerto rico 62-42. coach mark turgi nsaid they were like a train wreck. the nationals have added a new coach to their staff.

unfounded. the man accused of shooting at the white house is now facing charges of trying to assassinate president obama and even more disturbing information is coming out about suspect oscar ortega-hernandez, 9news now reporter surae chinn is live outside the white house with the story and just a really kind of bizarre video. surae, good morning. >> reporter: it is, it is very strange in fact. well, ortega-hernandez is in federal custody right now. he's waiting extradition back to washington, d.c.. now according to these charging documents, ortega-hernandez had problems with the government. had issues with the president. so much so that he quote allegedly needed to kill the president. and he insisted that he wouldn't stop until it was done. ortega-hernandez was caught in pennsylvania five days after he allegedly shot at the white house. and this was last week. but in a bizarre development, we find out that a man videotaped ortega-hernandez basically begging oprah for a job. and he believed himself to be

arlington who is charged with second degree murder. state department special agent christopher deedy seen here made his first court appearance for shooting a man at a mcdonald's in hawaii. he was in hawaii to help with security there. the attorneys are now saying deedy ideas only trying to protect himself and others. today families who suffer some of the worst damage from tropical storm lee will petition fema. flooding from the early september storm wiped out most of the holly acres mobile home park in woodbridge, virginia. they plan to gather in front of the c. street in southwest and hold picket signs asking for disaster aid. 66 homes in the subdivision for condemned following the floods. time for another your money report this morning. >> and jessica doyle is back with a list. >> consider this a shame

campaign. comptroller peter fran kho is at it again. going after the 50 top tax cheats. 25 businesses and 25 individuals. their names addresses and tax liabilities has been posted online. among them the companies you're seeing on the screen. cash flow entertainment and vip security services. the office says this is a final effort to get the 50 scofflaws to pay up. since the program started back in 2000 exposing maryland's tax cheats has brought in $26.5 million. a new report by a nonprofit says that almost half of washington residents with a criminal past may be unemployed. the report by the council for court excellence in washington finds a group of 550 previously incarcerated individuals had a 46% unemployment rate. the city as a whole has 11% unemployment rate. the group suggests giving inmates who have completed

christopher walken. sheriff's officials say they recently were contacted by people claiming to have additional information in this case. well, demi moore is ending her marriage to ashton kutcher, she told the associated press she is filing for divorce with great sadness and a heavy heart. she added there are certain values that she holds sacred and in that spirit she's chosen to move forward with her life. moore married ashton in september 2005. their relationship became tabloid fodder recently as rumors began to swirl. and we want to take a look at some of the new movies in theaters this weekend. this one everybody's heard about. the "twilight" saga, "twilight: breaking dawn-part 1" covers the first part of the fourth and final book in the wildly popular series. edward and bella get married in this one but bella quickly gets pregnant and her life is threatened by the rapidly growing half vampire she's carrying. then there's "happy feet." now comes "happy feet two"
