in silver spring. police managed to stop six, but more than that got away. recognize anybody? if you do, call the montgomery county police. you do not have to give your name. a virginia mother fighting for women's equality in the catholic church and she is starting with the alter girls. jennifer led a group of nearly 50 parents who protested the arlington diocese yesterday. she says her church is excluding young girls from exercising their faith. last fall, her parish announced they will no longer allow the girls to serve on the alter. >> people who are making these decisions aren't bad people. they are making choices we don't agree with and that hurt our sense of community. and so that we need to find another home that accepts everyone for who they are. >> hoping the bishop will have a dialogue about the issue. the church says they made the change hoping the altar boy position will serve as a spring board into the priesthood. tonight, a tsa employee is

accused of sexually assaulting a woman in prince william cant. harold rodman has been charged with aggravating sexual battery. prince william county police say rodman approached two women in the 10500 block of winfield loop. he was wearing his tsa uniform where he flashed his badge and sexually assaulted the victim. police found him a short time later. we know more about the paperwork mixup in prince georges county. scott broom with the latest in upper marlboro. >> i'm scott broom outside the prince georges county courthouse where we know more about a paperwork followup that resulted in an accused murder going free. 24-year-old frederick scott has not been seen since he made a $75,000 bail november 10. and walked out of prince georges county jail. it turns out he got a bail that was meant for someone else. according to state's attorney,

angela alsobrooks. >> the status hearing, there was no mention of his bond and what happened is there was an erroneous bond for $75,000. that was placed in mr. scott's file by the clerk's office. that paperwork belonged to another defendant. >> scott and another man face a murder and handgun charges for the murder of watson in march. now, a warrant has been issued for scott's arrest. last time police caught up to him, he was in las vegas. in upper marlboro. >> oscar ortega made his first appearance in d.c. federal court today. police say one of the nine rounds he fired cracked a windmill of the first family's living quarters on november 11. a judge ordered the 21-year-old held without bond and undergo a psychological evaluation. ortega's public defender argues there was no probable cause. the government's two witnesses have not been able to identify his client and that

investigators have yet to prove that the bullet fired at the white house belonged to ortega's rifle. his next court appearance is a week from today. >> new york city police say they have foiled a terror bomb plot. jose could be seen smiling at times. police say the 27-year-old was plotting a bombing campaign in new york city targeting police stations, patrol cars, and u.s. troops returning home from iraq and afghanistan. he lived in upper manhattan. neighbors say he didn't seem like a threat. his mother apologized to new york city. >> i'm sorry about what my son did. i didn't teach him to do this. he did that by himself. >> he was denied bail, he remains in custody. officials released videos like that one to show the damage his bombs could have caused. they believe the death of al- qaeda's al-awlaki likely accelerated his plot, he did not have any terrorist contacts

leave. the university's faculty association has also called for the school chancellor to step down. >> former fbi director says he will lead a lengthy investigation into the child sex abuse scandal still rocking penn state. the university's board of trustees formed a special committee to investigate allegations that the former assistant football coach, jerry sandusky sexually abused eight boys over a 15 year period. some of that alleged sex abuse happened in campus showers both before and after sandusky retired. two university officials also face criminal charges for allegedly lying to the grand jury. >> we are committed to leaving no stone unturned to get to the bottom of what happened. who knew what, when, and what changes must be made to ensure this doesn't happen again. >> we will also thoroughly study, review, and test all the university's policies,

sex crime or just an innocent kiss? that is the question after florida school officials called police after two 12-year-olds were caught in a lip lock. a pe teacher in fort myers saw one of the girls kiss a boy and that led to the cops getting a report of a possible sex crime. the sheriff's office says the kiss is not a sex crime. at most it's a case of simple battery and that's only if the boy said he didn't want to be kissed. but the school wanted the incident documented in case it escalated into something more. what do you think? if the school being overly protected or proactive? we want your thoughts in mcginty's mail bag. the address is mailbag@wusa9.com. you can also post them on our facebook page. shopping during the

functioning. but ron with the shall we say, more earthy point of view. on behalf of the united states of america, the american people sadly issue the following proclamation, that the super committee be renamed the pooper committee. since they are so full of it. that is something all of us can agree on. actually, i agree with those who say the super committee was likely doomed from the very start, but perhaps not for the exactly reasons you may think. i'll lay it out in my let's be real pen commentary. i'll lay it out tonight at 11:00. craig from king george, virginia says still love the skins, but don't know how much i can watch. seems to be a rerun every week. the same end result. no determination on the redskin players to get the job done. always a mistake here, offense playing touch football. you know what, craig, you and i are watching two games.
