what we know so far. a group of six cyclists were traveling down macarthur boulevard when a fedex truck traveling in the same direction attempted to make a left turn essentially almost a u-ey in between the two grassy medians there when the driver struck four of the cyclists in that group. you can see two of the cyclists that were not hurt. we just spoke to them. they're still here waiting for a ride. they said they were travelling in that group. they noticed that the driver did not see the cyclist and was not stopping so they sped up, trying to tap the car to catch his attention. it was too late, unfortunately. four people, as you mentioned, were struck. they tell me they have spoken to their friend. three of them are in good condition. however, one, police are describing as a trauma patient at this point. that's the story so far, we're going to have much more on this developing story a little later in our broadcast. back to you. thank you, delia for bringing that breaking news story out of glen echo,

maryland. in other news now, congresswoman gabrielle giffords served thanksgiving meals to the troops yesterday. giffords and her husband volunteered at an air force base in the congresswoman's hometown of tucson. giffords continues to recover from a gunshot wound suffered during that mass shooting back in january. d.c. police have charged a woman with driving while under the influence after her suv crashed into a fire station. well, it happened just after 4:00 this morning at the firehouse on u street near 16th and northwest. you can see some of the damage there. the impact left a pretty large hole in the building. no one was hurt. police say the woman was under the influence of a controlled substance. what started as a thanksgiving day shopping trip ended with a deadly accident, killing one pedestrian and sending five others to the hospital. police say a 60-year-old man went to the home depot on east west highway in hyattsville maryland and real identified it was closed. as he started to leave, he lost

control of his car and investigators say he plowed into six men who were standing on an island in the parking lot. police believe the driver had some sort of medical emergency just before the accident. >> he passed out. he had some type of medical condition and he ended up taking the -- driving, veering off to the left and struck six people that were sitting and standing by the curb. at this point, the passer in the car tried to take control of the steering wheel and ended up hitting a wall. >> all six pedestrians and the driver were taken to the hospital. one of the men hit by the car later died from his injuries. police aren't sure why the men were standing in the parking lot at that time. a building collapse and gas leak shut down part of a busy street in georgetown yesterday but the 1400 block of wisconsin avenue near o street is back open this morning. the vacant building caved in yesterday afternoon in georgetown. d.c. fire investigators say the

fire was on the back side of the property. the collapse then caused a gas leak that shut down parts of wisconsin avenue for several hours. it opened later in the evening. the fire department says the collapse may have been caused by renovation work. next, when the news continues, chicago police are one step closer to solving a murder from overnight. find out what happened when they confronted their suspect. egypt's military government rolls out the man it would like to see take over the country but will the thousands rallying in cairo go along? we'll take a look when 9news now at noon comes right back.

welcome back, everybody. police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman at a chicago hospital. police say the 47-year-old suspect ran after police pulled him over. he's a 15-year hospital employee. investigators have recovered a weapon but don't know if it was used in the hospital shooting. protestors packed cairo's tahrir square, upset with the military's choice of a new prime minister. the u.s. government is backing the demonstrators and waiting for official word that three arrested american students are officially free to go. danielle nottingham rings us up to date. >> reporter: an egyptian court order the these three american students set free but they may not leave custody until monday.

their friends and family are waiting anxiously for word that they're on their way home. >> i wouldn't wish this roller coaster ride on my worst enemy but the good news is we can all see the light at the end of the tunnel. >> the three were accused of throwing firebombs at police. the students insist they were just watching. their classmates at the american university of cairo agreed. >> i know them personally, there's no way that they could have had those. i don't think they would have figured out how to get molotov cocktails. >> as officials in washington wait for news on the students' release, they're taking a stronger stand with egypt's military. the obama administration is calling on the generals running the country to transfer power to civilians now. that's what tens of thousands of protestors have been calling for in a series of clashes that has injured thousands and killed more than 30. the demonstrations took on new

eating all of the leftovers. >> i'm sure there were a few, especially the desserts left over. we have some great conditions right now. we had chilly start to the morning. the temperatures were in the 30s. middle 30s in some locations. now, the sunshine is doing its thing of the day planner today will feature a warm-up already underway right now. most areas are now just peaking into the 50s. we'll continue to move on into the 60s by mid afternoon. say around 3:00, 4:00, most of us should top out with our daytime highs. by about the 5:00 hour, we start to head toward sunset, temperatures drop off once again. if are you going to be out and about later on this evening, make sure you take a jacket with you. you'll definitely want that after the sun goes down into the overnight hours though, we'll keep our temperatures cool again. back down into the 40s and 30s early tomorrow morning. so, here is what we're expecting as we head in toward the next several days. it will be a pretty good forecast all-around. weather headlines a feature

fabulous friday. if you have that extended weekend, get out and enjoy it. it will be sunshine all around. you want those sunglasses with you as you move around the city today. but the mild temperatures, i think they're going to last for us today, tomorrow, even sunday looks great. then i'm tracking a few changes on the way. we'll alter the forecast as we head into the start and the middle of the work week. much cooler behind that. originally though, we're looking at a pretty good weekend. get out and enjoy it if you that extended day. current temperatures already up to 61 degrees. we're making progress through cumberland, looking at 57 in the city. much warmer to the south. portions of southern virginia could see 70 degrees later on today. in our area closer to the beltway, we'll stick to the 60s. winds are predominantly out of the south and southwest because high pressure is dominating our weather pattern and we're definitely looking at some sunshine into the afternoon. here is where high pressure is sitting right now. it is just toward the southern

portions of norfolk, virginia. basically, off the north carolina coast and it is continuing to slide on off toward the east. it is wrapping around some of the southerly wind flow and that's definitely pulling on in some moisture for us. not in the form of cloud cover but it is definitely keeping our conditions nice and future cast agrees. into the evening hours, we're looking great if you're headed out for a friday night out on the town. we start out clear and cool tomorrow morning if you have an early game or walking the dog early in the morning, you will see some clouds start to move on in. not until sunday. sunday night, we do feature some rain opportunities, in fact, the forecast brings in a little bit of the moisture late in the day. best chance for rain though will come overnight sunday and most of the day on monday. so, here's what to expect overnight tonight. we'll take our temperatures down as we of i mentioned into the 40s and 30s. definitely going to be a very nice day tomorrow as well. not quite as warm but we should hit the 60 degree mark and push into the lower 60s by afternoon. the next three days, quite

of course, we use the spoon and whatever the tools that we use on a daily basis. >> you have to make it just right. it has to be pretty ripe because it is soft to be able to get that out. >> if it is not ripe, it won't be able to do that. if it is way too much, you won't be able to use it. it has to be perfect, you know. we just do that and put our secret -- >> secret spices. >> secret spices. that's what we use. that's how we make it. you know, we scoop at least 1,000 limes a day in order to get the quality of food. >> people are particular about guac. you guys have the special seasoning. >> we do. we have not only the guacamole but you know, our seasonings that we use for all of our meals, you know. and our desserts and rice and meats and everything. very, very fresh on a daily
