heart attack. a spokesman for the hospital says she did see a doctor and a cardiologist upon her arrival before passing. >> should he remained on the scene? >> again, we have a protocall that dictates the employee's actions and that's why we are looking at this. we want to make sure protocall was followed. the employee might not be obligated to remain on the scene. there may have been an obligation. >> the case is bringing up david rossenbomb. he was beaten and robbed near his home in upper northwest washington. responders misdiagnosed his injuries. he died at howard university hospital. >> and that was bruce johnson reporting. the judge overseeing the sentence of michael jackson's doctor says conrad murray is a disgrace to the medical profession. murray sat with his hands crossed as he was sentenced to four years in prison for

involuntary manslaughter. the jails are so overcrowded, he could cut that sentence in half. former gop front runner, herman cain, is reassessing his run for the white house tonight, a day after a georgia woman alleged a 13 year affair with the married businessman. bruce leshan is here and says cain is set to deliver a major policy speech tonight in michigan. >> lesli, he says he is sticking to his schedule for the next few days while he tries to figure out if his run can continue. >> herman cain leaving a tyson's corner hotel after telling staffers on the phone there may be such a cloud over his candidacy that he'll lose any remaining support. he admitted knowing ginger white and helping her financially, but unequivocally unequivocally denied an affair. ginger white says she expected

republican primary voters no longer believe him. his numbers dropped by half. they had dropped by half even before this latest allegation. lesli. >> we'll see what happens in a couple days. bruce, thank you. tomorrow, a federal judge will begin hearing arguments about whether john hinkley should get out of the hospital. the man who shot ronald reagan has spent the last three decades there and doctors think he should be able to leave for a series of visits to his mother's home in virginia. >> gary giordano could be released from prison. the question is, will the suspect in the disappearance of a frederick woman be able to get out of the nation before a hearing to appeal his release. scott broom has been in talk with the top prosecutor this afternoon. scott, he is ready to rearrest giordano if he can? >> he says he is ready to rearrest him.

that's if giordano does not manage to get himself out of the country between his expected release tonight and that appeal hearing of his release order tomorrow morning and frankly, the prosecutor told me on the phone this afternoon, there are a lot of flights leaving. >> he's an american citizen with an american passport. he doesn't need to go directly to the u.s. there will be a number of flights still leaving tonight and tomorrow going to other places. >> when is why stein says he is prepyred to extradite giordano back to aruba if his release order is overturned at tomorrow's 11:00 a.m. hearing. that assumes he comes to the u.s. or is in another country where aruba has an extradition treaty. meanwhile, you can see robyn

gardner's family releasing this statement. we are no closer to what happened to our robyn. stein says he still holds out some hope of eventually charging giordano with the murder of robyn gardner, but stein says it's still open and he doesn't have the evidence that he wants to move forward right now. gardner's body has never been found. reporting in the satellite center, scott broom, 9news now. >> the man being called the east coast rapist is back tonight. acould you described of raping 17 women. all of this over a ten year span. he was arrested in connecticut back in march. he faces his first trial for the assault of two girls in woodbridge two years ago. we also have breaking news out of prince georges county. frederick scott, a murder suspect who was mistakenly released back on november 18 due to clerical error. he is now back in custody.

he turned himself in this morning at the courthouse. scott is being held on a $500,000 bond. >> tonight, a top pakistani general is adding fuel to the fire that damaged the country's relationship over the u.s. this weekend. he says the nato bombing that killed 24 pakistani troops was a quote, deliberate act of aggression. pakistan is pulling out of an upcoming meeting on the future of afghanistan, but yet to say if it will join an investigation into the incident. vice president joe biden made a surprise visit to baghdad today. he met with the united states ambassador to iraq and the commanding general of u.s. forces there. and his visit is focusing on the new relationship between the u.s. and iraq once american forces leave. and tonight at 7:00, apparently even santa is not recession proof. the largest santa -- high priced requests that santa might get from the kids.

some vehicles had to be towed after getting stuck in the tar- like substance after it leaked out of a tanker all along the turnpike. the national education association is helping louisa county schools recover from august earthquake. damage from the 5.8 quake forced the county to close two schools for the rest of the year. the nea is donating $10,000 to help with repairs. a lot of kids going to school in trailers right now. >> every little bit counts. that is definitely the case. >> yeah. well we had a correction today. not crazy, but a correction. back to reality really. now in parts of the south, we showed you snow in memphis. now we're going to take you down to alabama. hamilton, alabama. this is the northern part of the state. they had a little bit of snow. it's wrapping around colder air. it's not bringing in arctic air, but wrapping around just enough cold air and generating its own cold air. a little snow in parts of the

south and the midwest. all right, for us, well the rain is pretty much gone. we have to worry about cold air coming in here tonight. you can see the purples and the whites. that's all the snow. you can see it all the way down here into the smokies in north carolina and tennessee. it's going to remain unsettled as we go through the night into west virginia and also western maryland. you will find some snow showers tonight and tomorrow morning. this is what is left of the rain. essentially now delmarva northward and again a half an inch fell across most of the metro area. we also showed you flooding in chattanooga today. we did not have the heavy rain they had. so temperatures, okay, they are cooler. 49 rockville. 49 bethesda. 50 up in beltsville. 49 in laurel. down to the south, 49 at andrews and upper 40s. not a big plummet in terms of temperatures. 49 in sterling and 48 in leesburg. now the outside story, well back to reality. breezy and colder tonight.

you'll need sunglasses tomorrow. you'll need a jacket or coat. you'll have a nice finish to the week. we have been spoiled. showers ending early tonight. becoming cloudy. 38 to 42. and winds southwest at 10 to 1515. normally a southwest wind would not drive in cold air. by morning, fartly cloudy, breezy, and cold. and by afternoon, we'll say variable clouds. probably a few more clouds will develop tomorrow afternoon. breezy and colder, but seasonal. highs low 50s. winds turn westerly at 10 to 15. sot zone forecast, we're looking at temperatures in the upper 30s in oakland with morning snow showers. 45 in cumberland. around 50. maybe 54 in culpeper. and about 52 or so in manassas. downtown 52. 53 over by the water. small craft advisory for the bay and title potomac.

cool by noon. and cool by evening, 49 to about 54. a coat, sunglasses a good idea. next seven days, really a nice finish to the week. yes, low 50s and breezy and cool on thursday. we pop into the mid 50s on friday. low 50s on saturday. which is still nice. and then on sunday, the redskin game, we are back in the upper 50s to near 60. showers and rain on monday. now behind that system, much, much colder. temperatures will struggle to get to the low 40s with a morning flurry or shower tuesday. >> that's more than a correction. >> yeah, this is a correction. >> that's cold. >> okay. well it's cold at the verison center and that's a good thing. the caps are back playing their first game with a new coach. dave owens is there. >> a little bit cold out here guys and ladies, but all i have to say is this.
