nation turns its eyes to the new hampshire primary. and mitt romney made some history tonight doing what no republican candidate has ever done. >> win the iowa caucuses and the new hampshire. >> reporter: the latest number with 81% of the precinct, mitt romney wins new hampshire by a 15 point margin. according to polls, 19% of voters made up their minds only today. about half of voters made up their minds only in the last 10 days. and among the republican voters, the most important quality in a candidate, the ability to beat barack obama, an apparent explanation for the mitt romney win. >> thank you, new hampshire. tonight we made history. >> reporter: his final margin of victory was lessened by

virginia. new at 11:00, police need your help to find a missing teenager. she is 19. we're told she functions at the level of an 11-year-old. saturday afternoon she left her home in gaithersburg in the 7400-block of rose manor lane. she planned to walk down to the shopping center but she's never been seen since. if you believe you've seen this young lady, call the police. they'd love to hear from you. if you think it couldn't happen on your block, in one neighborhood folks are afraid to walk out their front doors for fear they may have to stare down a smith and wesson. and after a string of crimes by gad guys with guns, there is good reason to be scared. ken molestina is live with more on this one. ken. >> reporter: yes, derek, it's happening out here at au park. the neighbors i spoke to say it's happening frequently and whoever is responsible for this, they say, is being aggressive about it. this family is taking extra precautions these days after a

string of armed robberies in their neighborhood has brought violence to their doorstep literally. >> there was a man hiding right in the bushes next to our garage with a gun and he mugged a woman right outside of our house. >> reporter: that happened last friday. but the wave of crime they say began january 1st when a nearby family was robbed by two suspects wielding guns right in their own driveway. >> a nice family just simply walking from their car to their house and all of a sudden stopped by gunmen. it was incredible frightening. >> reporter: then just this past weekend, there were three armed robberies in the span of less than an hour. police have confirmed the incidents and say a gun is always used. they have been keeping up with the details of this recent crime spike. they and other neighbors have been sending messages to each other and advising everyone in au park to keep a watchful eye on their streets. >> we all look out for each other, and everyone is constantly in contact. i think that's been the greatest reaction to our kind of friends

county community for years will spend the rest of his life behind bars. >> he was a one man crime wave. they referred to him as not just a crime wave but a tsunami of crime. >> today a judge sentenced the man to 100 years in prison. between 2007 and 2009, scott was responsible for 88% of the reported crimes in largo. he is behind nearly 60 home invasions, burglary and carjacks and sex assault. he used his job to help him find their targets, get their addresses, stalk them and carry out his crimes. victims say they're still terrified today. >> i don't walk my neighborhood anymore. i don't accept deliveries. especially ups deliveries. but i don't accept floral deliveries. i don't go out at night if i can help it. >> scott would carry a large arsenal of weapons with him as

well as a so-called rape kit. despite the sentence, judges are poised to take a second crack at scott. they charged him with murders of two women who were found in their burned out car after a home invasion. you can find this story after s4. sinful nature. they are on the hunt for people wanted from stealing from three churches. flat screen tvs, computers, cash all were stolen. just this morning, a safe with thousands of dollars in gift cards was taken. >> doors were opened, drawers had contents spilled out on the floor. it was obvious someone had gone through the place. >> this is breaking and entering, vandalism. theft. they're facing some serious jail time if they're caught and convicted. >> the stolen gift cards have been cancelled. they were supposed to help the church in fundraising as well as people in need. the criminals could face multiple felony charges. you want to see me do my

shows, and they're looking for ways to make them safer. perhaps limiting the types of planes that can fly and setting the crowds further back from the action. more than 10 million people attend u.s. air shows each year. a commercial development plan could change a lot about life in the small town of akwakan. tonight the prince william county board of supervisors voted on a zoning change that would allow an office building to go there. long time resident james phelps watch a wall of water blast through the town and he's worried if the development is okayed it will push more water and sediments through the town. >> talking about a single children. it will not make or break the economic -- >> corey stewart is competent an office building will be built and says it's much needed to

a big change. let's start with the weather camera. it's clear outside right now. 39 degrees. dew .33. pressure is steady and the went is calm. now, we're looking at temperatures a little colder in the bushes. we find some low 30s in the burbs. satellite picture radar combined, can you pick out our next storm. i new you could. it's right there. pretty big rains pushing out of arkansas into southern missouri. even some showers and thunderstorms. our next storm is going to be primarily wednesday afternoon. it will be a dry morning commute. we're looking at an inch of rain across the metro area. we have good clear skies now. the high clouds will come in early in the morning. then the rain rolls in very quickly after the clouds roll in. so, again, grab your umbrella and raincoat. keep the lining. the morning commute dry. that's going to be okay. the evening commute very wet. even some heavy rain in the tail end. mild on thursday, but then very,

very cold on friday. we're talking a 20, 25-degree temperature change between thursday and friday. all right. here is a look at the future cast. 6:00 in the morning we see some high clouds but most of the metro area clear. look what happens by noon. rain rolls in across most of the metro area, up to 270, down through town and down south 95 and out 66. you do see a little bit of a mixture. it should not be a problem. but there will be a little bit of a mixture cumberland across the divide. after that, 6:00 for the rush hour, yes, rain everywhere across the metro area. and then late tomorrow night, about this time tomorrow night, heaviest rain rolls through. now we have orange and yellow which is essentially moderate to heavy rain. that rolls through about this time tomorrow. the good news, it rolls through quickly. by 6:00 a.m. on thursday, maybe a few leftover showers. but thursday is going to be a great day. sunshine returns and we soar back into the 50s.
