it appears to show about four u.s. soldiers in afghanistan, urinating on the dead bodies of three members of the taliban. >> yes. >> reporter: it is believed that the four marines involved, none of whom has been named. a part of the third battalion and the second marine regimen, based in north carolina. the u.s. military says that none of the four marines is serving right now in afghanistan. and the reaction to the video has been swift and harsh. the secretary of state, hillary clinton, had this to say. >> anyone, anyone found to have participated or known about it, having engaged in such conduct, must be held fully accountable. >> reporter: while they said, "i have seen the footage and i find the behavior depicted in it utterly deplorable." he also ordered a full investigation and called the afghan president to express his disgust for his part. he called the video competely inhumane and the taliban in a

message posted online, called on the united nations to stop what they call, "the barbaric acts of the american soldiers that go against all human norms." the four marines believed to be involved in the video could all be court marshaled for violating a number of military rules, including the banned on photographing the casualties on war. matt jablo, cbs news. >> now, that will be the lead agency in this investigation. derek? >> well, leslie, you know this. today is just another example of how mild our winter has been so far, but up to the north and the west, forget about it. this is what it looks like in massachusetts today. and this storm, they really hit at the height of the morning commute and another storm that is hitting the midwest right now. >> reporter: i'm here in south bend where 8 to 15 inches of snow is expected to hit portions of our viewing area. but the crews, they are not waiting for the snowflakes to fall. we want to show you the video now. road crews, they were out on

children. >> that's my boys. >> reporter: shortly after the shootings, parents tried to get to the scene, worried about what their children may have seen. >> yes, very troubling. it is very troubling. >> reporter: three of them shot in three different locations, all at about the same time. >> they have been spread over 20 blocks. >> reporter: one victim shot in the 2300 block of 4th street. and both those victims, they have non-life-threatening injuries. but the victim shot right in front of the school is in critical condition. police, they found clothes on wheeler hill drive. about five blocks away on sixth and mississippi. and they found a weapon that appears to be a .9 millimeter. parents say they have ongoing problems in this neighborhood. >> and shoot me, gambling, smoking, it's safe. they need to put it into it. >> reporter: police have two people in custody, but they have not made any arrests. the suspect is still at

large in the home break in in bethesda. police are really hoping that someone recognizes the surveillance photo of him and calls to get him off the streets. >> reporter: still no sign for a desperate search for the man who tied up this home, sexually assaulting the housekeeper and then stole the woman's 2005 gray ford expedition. he did the same kind of thing in wheaton. putting a sign on the door declining the news sweer view. the alarm company is installing a new system. now, friends say that the victim is coping after the thug attacked her at gunpoint. and in her own garage. >> and she wants more safety here. she wants to know that it happened to her while she was holding her child. the man pointed the gun at her baby, which you know, it just shows what kind of a person

this is. >> reporter: police say that they stole her car and her atm card and used it at a bank in the hills. >> now, a man accused of helping the former council member is now facing charges of his own. prosecutors say that he received money from harry thomas, and then he redistributed it. he also allegedly gave thomas grant money for programs that never materialized. well today, metro's board of directors got their first look at the general manager's plan to raise the fares. this is a part of a plan to close the $116 million deficit. they are proposing an increase in bus and rail fares, as well as parking and metro access fees. you can read all about it on wusa9.com. police are looking for a missing man from fredericksburg, virginia. he's the 82-year-old gilbert wood. now, they believe that he is in some kind of a danger. he was last seen yesterday morning at the mill park terrace apartment in

frank is family. which is why the loss of frank's brother, dino four years ago is something they still think about every day. >> it is just very painful to not really know what happened to our dog. >> reporter: in november 2008, they boarded him at the dogwood acres pet retrieve before flying out of town. the next evening, they called to check in. >> it was kind of like a pause and a hold and then all of a sudden, well, your dog is kind of like, been missing. >> reporter: they flew home on the next flight. >> no one, you know, was there. so we just spent the whole night in the field behind dogwood acres looking for our dog. >> reporter: the story they got is that dino escaped, jumped the fence running away when left alone outside. >> they are charged with the care and safety of your animal. and if they don't provide that, then they should be, you know, held accountable. >> reporter: so they sued the dogwood acres for $3,000. the cost of their dog and their search efforts.
