developing story. police have confirmed that a body pulled from a well in prince george's county, maryland, is that of lenwood harris, the missing community activist from alexandria. lenny harris was last seen in september leaving the recreation center in old town. on thursday an anonymous tip led police to the well. an autopsy concluded that the 53-year-old harris had been murdered. back in september, harris' wife and brother talked t come home. >> a lot of us have made bad decisions in our lives, all of us. i'm hoping that a guy that would see this, even if he wanted money, whatever the situation was, it's not worth a life. >> you can walk on the other side of the bridge. it wasn't on that side. it's not even on the side where you could walk. >> sought had to be thrown out of a car. >> or something. >> police have surveillance photos of someone using harris' credit card just hours after he disappeared. a day after that his cell phone was found.

his car was found in october. lenwood lenny harris was president of operation hope, a community-based nonprofit. we hope to learn more about his disappearance and murder tomorrow morning when alexandria and prince george's county police hold a joint press conference. we've got snowflakes blowing around the region tonight. let's go over to anny hong in the weather center. >> we have a clipper system bringing some snow showers. it is moving through quickly. no major accumulations are expected. you see the blue, and that's where we're picking up some snow showers. right around the beltway looks like we've got snow basically north of d.c., basically west of 95. i will zoom in to show you what's happening. looks like the snow showers will go through overnight. as far as accumulations, maybe on your car, on grassy areas, but beltsville, baltimore,

mcpherson square is and freedom plaza. will that mark the beginning of the end of the occupy d.c. movement? protesters here say absolutely not. nearly four months after beginning their well publicized occupation, mcpherson square and freedom plaza, protesters at both locations have apparently worn out their welcome with the national park service. >> what we're doing here is landfall. >> after numerous complaints about trash and rat problems, especially at mcpherson square, including a formal complaint from d.c. mayor vincent gray, the park service starting at noon tomorrow u.s. park police will begin enforcing the ban on camping and the use of temporary structures in mcpherson diswair square and freedom park. >> reporter: how long have you been out? >> i've been coming out since september. >> reporter: protesters we spoke with at mcpherson square said even if they're no longer

allowed to camp out, the occupy d.c. movement will continue. >> reporter: is this the beginning of the end of the occupy d.c. movement? >> oh, of course not. what's going on right now is just a continuation. this is just to let you know what's going to come in the spring and summer. >> this is a new chapter. this is where we get to separate the boys from the men and the girls from the women, so i'm ready. i'm ready. i'm not afraid of anything tomorrow. >> reporter: the national park service says for protesters here at mcpherson square and freedom plaza to be in compliance they will have to take down all camping gear. so far, as you can see, that has not happened. at mcpherson square, matt jablow, 9news now. >> officials say an officer idea an electronic stun gun on a protesters who was tearing down flyers. this video shows the confrontation. police say the unidentified man was charged with disorderly

conduct. they say that man ripped up the flyer when he received it, and then began tearing it off other tents. when police tried to arrest him, they say he became aggressive, confrontational, and that's when the stun gun was used. an occupy d.c. participant told the washington post that the use of the stun gun was unnecessary. the suspect was transported to a hospital at his request, then refused treatment. he is being held until his arraignment sometime tomorrow morning. turning to a shooting, a car chase, and an accident that ended with a double fatality. a third person is in critical condition tonight, and two police officers are hospitalized. surae chinn reports on this tragedy that ended near catholic university in northeast. >> horrific. just to look at that car they're towing away now. >> reporter: it's a burgundy minivan that now sits on its top. >> it's just unbelievable. >> reporter: all three people

inside were thrown from the van. a 19-year-old and another adult man died. a 17-year-old is in very critical condition. it all started in 700 block of otis place northwest, several miles from the deadly scene. police received calls of gunfire and people shooting from the minivan around 3:00 sunday morning. >> the fact that violence even occurred from the beginning with the shooting is tragic. >> officers spotted the minivan and gave chase, bringing them to taylor street. >> when the suspect vehicle crested the hill he be gab to lose control. he hit a tree. >> reporter: but that's not where the van stopped. police say the minivan rolled over several times before landing on top of the police cruiser, then falling off. the two officers were coming in the opposite direction, responding to the call. they were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. >> it's just sad. people take for granted, any kids come in, driving home with their parents, down this road,

and supposedly they're running from the police, and just shows that some people don't have any disregard for life. >> this is what happens when you have made a decision not to be a law abiding citizen. >> reporter: surae chinn, 9news now. >> police say they'd like to talk to the people who made the call to 911 and that man who flagged down police. if you have information please call 202-720-9099. police say they have recovered evidence linking that minivan to the drive-by shooting. there was another deadly crash in the area, this one involving a vehicle with three young people traveling west on route 50 in an eastbound lane. no idea why or how they were on the wrong side of the highway but there was a brutal collision. that driver and the young people all died. the accident happened on route 50 at davidsonville road. reporter weijia jiang has more on this tragedy. >> reporter: this is how family

members of 19-year-old britney walker will remember her. >> as a caring, beautiful girl. >> reporter: her grandfather, norman walker and his wife raised walker as their own daughter and now feel the pain parents would. 3:30 saturday morning, walker and three others were killed on route 50 east of maryland 424 in davidsonville. it was ahead-on collision that ended in a fire. mr. walker tells wjz it was his granddaughter who was behind the wheel of a car going the wrong way. this vehicle that was traveling westbound, the eastbound lanes of route 50 carrying three passengers struck head on a single passenger vehicle. >> reporter: the walkers say britney left home, this house in hanover, on friday night around 11:00 to go to a party with friends. >> my wife told her to be careful, and she said she would, so i don't know if alcohol related or not, i just don't know. >> reporter: and neither do police yet. a crash team is still investigating but identify the two others who were in the same

car as 18-year-old briana franco and zachary rose. walker took nursing classes and worked at a pizzeria to pay for them. >> i would just hold her. >> police are telling aus few hours before the crash callers reported a driver going the wrong way on i-97. they're investigating whether it was the very same car. nearly two dozen pets have been killed in a house fire in spotsylvania county, virginia. the home has been destroyed. the residents of the house were not there when the fire broke out. fire officials say 12 cats and seven dogs died in the blaze. fire officials were able to rescue three cats. heat from the blaze damaged the house next-door. no word on the cause. a tragic story in central virginia. authorities are investigating the deaths of a father and his three-year-old twin daughters.

the hanover county sheriff's office has identified the man as 40 years old robert king. all three bodies were found late saturday in the richmond suburb of mechanicsville. police say the twins lived there with the mother. they're calling the death tonight suspicious but await awe top see. robert king, the father, did not live at the house where he and his daughters were found dead. terrifying moments for construction workers at a casino project. a floor collapsed, sending workers sliding or falling to the ground below. more than a dozen workers were hurt. they were pouring a section of concrete floor when it gave way. one person remains in serious condition tonight. an update now on that suspicious death in montgomery county that we told you about. authorities have now charged 68- year-old henry gordon hutchins with murder. officers were called to the

home where they found 62-year- old carol francis dead. hutchins had called police to report that his wife was dead. maryland governor martin o'malley says words of compassion and justice are now needed in the debate over same- sex marriage. a committee is scheduled to examine the same-sex bill on tuesday. the governor's comments today came days after his wife stirred up controversy by calling gay marriage opponent coward. >> when this occasionally happens, we must also have the humility and the strength to apologize, and to seek forgiveness. >> same-sex marriage legislation passed the maryland state senate last year but stalled in the house of
