flyer when he received it and then began tearing it off of other tents. when police atried to a-- tried to arrest him, he became confrontation al and the stun gun was used. it is 4:91. in other news this morning, police have confirmed a body pulled from a well in prince george's county is lenwood harris atlas energy any harris was last seen in september leaving the charles houston recreation center in old town. on thursday an anonymous tip led police to the old well. the 53-year-old harris had been murdered. in september harris' wife and brother spoke to news now. >> i have been with him for 23 years and he has never not come home. >> a lot of us make bad decisions in our lives and i'm just hoping a guy, even if he

wanted money or whatever, it is not worth a life. >> you can walk on the other side of the bridge. >> police have surveillance photos of someone using lenny harris' credit card just hours after he disappeared. one day later his cell phone was found on the wilson bridge. his car was found in october in prince george's county. lenwood harris was president of operation hope a community- based nonprofit association. police are expected to reveal more about this case during a news conference later this morning. police are still piecing together the events which left two people dead and injured two police officers and a third victim during a crash in the 400 block of taylor street northeast. police were originally called to the 700 block of otis street northwest around 3:00 sunday morning. witnesses reported gunfire and police shooting from a minivan.

officers spotted the minivan and pursued the vehicle to taylor street. the driver of the minivan lost control and hit a tree. two officers coming in the opposite direction stopped when they saw the accident. but the minivan bounced off the tree and started tumbling toward them. it landed on top of a police cruise and slid off. all three people inside the minivan were thrown from the vehicle. a 19-year-old and another man died. a 17-year-old is in critical condition. the two officers, they were taken to the hospital and expected to be okay. maryland governor martin o formally says a state senate committee is examining the same sex bill tomorrow. the governor's comments came days after his wife called gay marriage opponents cowards. o'malley closed out his remarks by underscoring the need for

using compassionate rhetoric in the debate. >> when this occasionally happens, we must also have the humility and the strength to apologize and to seek forgive, forgiveness. o'malley is making the measure a priority this session. same sex marriage opponents are promising to fight the bill. if approved, it would make maryland the seventh state in the country to allow gays and lesbians the full legal protections of marriage. >> there is outrage. there is delegates who have contacted me. >> opponents are planning a rally in front of the state house tonight. republican presidential candidates mitt romney and newt gingrich will continue trying to court voters in florida today ahead of tomorrow's critical primary. with several polls showing romney in the lead, rick santorum and ron paul have all but conceded the top spots.

here's a look at other things making news now. it looks like the end of the world. that is what some people said. this morning sob lanes of a florida highway remain closed following a deadly pile up south of gainsville .10 people were killed early sunday morning. authorities say dense fog and heavy smoke from a brush fire blinded drivers, causing more than 70 vehicles to crash into each other. police are looking into the blaze, whether it is the work of an arsonist. police don't know why the driver of an suv ignored a crossing arm and flashing lights and drove into the path of an oncoming train in sacramento, california. seven people aboard the train were injured in the wreck and three people were killed. the afc came away with a 59-41 victory at the 2012 pro bowl. marshall is the first player in

the dow gained about 4% and the nasdaq is up 7% for the month. experts predict a good year for tech stocks. many companies have been replacing worn out technology. they need to invest in tech. checking the numbers from water the dow stands at 660. dropped 74 points in trading friday. nasdaq was up by 11 points and the s & p 500 was off by two. chrysler is expected to announce this week it will hire 1600 workers at a plant in illinois. the latest on incomes and spending, consumer confidence, auto sales and the government's monthly unemployment report. economists think employers added 120,000 jobs this month and the unemployment rate held steady at 8.5%. that market is still chugging along for jobs. >> cats exactly. hoping to -- exactly. hoping to find something at the end of the track. a greeing number of women

in hagueers town, 7 toward garrett county. look at our michael and son weather camera. nice, clear morning out there. good visibility, 34 degrees under clear skies, feeling like 2. the air has really dried out. the dew point at 18, so a relative human at 52%. you are wondering where winter is. in central alaska. fairbanks minus 31 right now. very cold air. but there is no signs this is really going to start moving south toward the u.s. as the jet stream continues to come in off the pacific, you can see this. continue west to east. with this going here, remember the cold air up here? it can't be coming down toward the u.s. so winter can't really get going very well, and that is why we stay with this very mild pattern, overall. we have these little systems coming through with late snows

here and lake snows here. as far as prolonged cold wintry weather, not seeing it. could be a few clouds north and in the points here last this afternoon and tonight. the bulk of the next system passes well to our north. tomorrow is going to be a sunny day. as we head toward wednesday, this is when we have a chance for some of the moisture arriving in the form of showers by the time you get into wednesday afternoon, especially north and west. we may get a couple of those later on, on wednesday. all in all, while it is chilly today, ahead of this system coming wednesday and thursday, temperatures are going up into the 60s. today we'll be the mid to the upper 40s. tomorrow 63. that should be 46 not 48. 63 tomorrow. wednesday possibly 65 with a shower possible in the afternoon. you realize the average high this time of year is 44

degrees. i just jumped ahead of that. let me go back to that for you. temperatures by thursday in the 50s. and over the weekend maybe in the 40s with a chance for a few more showers. it is 4, 4:48. here's monika. if you are heading around the weigh this morning, things are looking good. inbound 66 there had been a serious accident in gainsville at route 29. the good news is it's been cleared on the inbound side. a medevac helicopter was sent to the scene. be aware you might see residual police activity there. we'll also take you to the northbound side i have 95 down here at the prince william parkway. an accident was just moved to the right shoulder. we'll take you out to the inside the weigh to the arlington area week route 50. watch out for construction.

they are alternating you in the lanes there through the construction zone until 6:00 this morning and take you to the 14th street bridge inbound of 395 basically coming up from landmark and into downtown. coming up in my next report maryland at 4:55. reported cases of the flu are down so far this winter but don't let that fool you. federal health experts say there is probably still a lot of sickness on its way. anita brickman has more. >> reporter: sarah nagy is getting her flu shot even though it has been a mild season so far. the cdc says even though flu cases are down this year, people should still get vaccinated. experts say it is not unusual to have a slow start to the season, then a dramatic increase in late winter. we have had reports from the health department that they are seeing more positive specimens. we might start to see some increase in activity shortly.

>> reporter: doctors aren't exactly sure why flu isn't spreading was quickly but warmer temperatures this winter may play a milder role. >> it might lead to people doing more activities outside, staying indoors less, being around sick people less. >> reporter: the low flu activity may also be a sign that more people are getting vaccinated. dr. hoar vets said if you haven't had your shot, get it now. >> reporter: anita brickman, 9news now. eight adults have died from the flu and pneumonia so far this season. no children have died. last season 122 children died of complications from the flu. overweight people may be more likely to have back pain and spine problems. researchers in hong kong found obese people are at a higher risk of developing damage to lumbar disks. scientists say weight is only part of the reason why.

they believe chronic information from the fat cells may play a role in disk regeneration. more women are choosing to have their babies at home. research from the cdc shows home births increased 2% from 2004 to 2009. experts believe personal preference plays a role along with lower costs. even with the increase, home births are still rare and account for less than 1% of all deliveries. a new study finds 30% of parents don't require booster seats in a car when their child is part of a car pool. doctors say that decision could be dangerous, because adult seat belts do not work as well on small children. most state laws require booster seats until kids are eight years old. an overwhelming majority of women say it is okay to tell your husband this, but not okay if the roles were reversed.
