south carolina limping. he was the favorite going in and walked away the front runner once again. >> [applause]. >> a triumphant mit romney thanked his supporters for a big victory in florida's republican primary. >> a primary does not divide us. it prepares us. >> it is romney's second win and the largest delegate held so far in the 2012 come pain but it was an expensive campaign. romney and his supporters spent more than $14 million on tv ads to secure florida. it was a tough loss for newt gingrich who lead in the polls here just last week and he says he's not giving up. >> we are going to contest every place and we are going to win and we will be in tampa as the nominee in august. >> voters said the economy was by far the most important, use in this race. according to exit polls half who responded said foreclosures were a major problem in their area. recent debates were also a factor in their decisions.

foreseeable future. the breast cancer charity says it made the decision in the way congress is investigating the way planned parenthood spends the federal dollars received. the vents it gaze was launched a few months ago. a spokeswoman said the organization recently adopted a policy not to give money to groups under local, state or federal investigation. for their part, however, planned parenthood directors furious about the cutback in funding say susan g. komen is giving into pressure from anti- abortion groups. our calls to planned parent hood and susan g. komen were not answered. we hope to have a lot more on the story tomorrow. derek? >> thank you, matt. also new at 11 right now prince georges county police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in the 1800 block of delphi and police say the vick tip was an adult male and they found him outside just lying on the ground. officers have not released anymore information but if you know anything about the crime the cops would like to hear

of an alexandria activist. officers arrested 49 year old lynnwood johnson in the death of lenny harris. detectives say johnson knew harris but they aren't saying how. harris disappeared september 21. the next day someone was call on surveillance video using his atm card at a bank. his cell phone and car were discovered in the following weeks. police say johnson's motive was robbery but aren't giving out details in the case. >> we have recovered what we believe the murder weapon, the murder weapon is a firearm. mr. lynnwood johnson gave a full written and verbal concession to prince georges county police department homicide detectives just a few hours ago. >> police say johnson also gave us full written and verbal concessions during that questioning as you just heard the officers say. a hate crime or a mindless act of vandalism? either way police are trying to track down the group that

targeted a local moss being under construction. a muslim community in virginia was just weeks away from opening this when vandals hit it over the weekend. they tossed beer bottles and bricks at the building and they shattered each and every custom made window. damage estimates $80,000. >> there are always going to be people who don't like this but the majority of the people within this area are very accepting and are very loving people. >> the project manager said police collected forensic evidence including what looked like blood, perhaps from one of the vandals cut by broken glass. well it is not often that a maryland governor testified before general assembly committee but today, governor martin o' mally did just that hoping to build saw fort for his bill to legalize same sex marriage. he held the focus on aspects of the bill to offer legal protection to the children of gay couples, protections they are currently denying. >> it's not right and it is not

just that the children of gay couples should have lesser protections than the children of other families in our state. >> last night, religious leaders lead a rally against the gay marriage bill but the governor does have some support in the religious community because his bill differs from the one defeated last year by spelling out the no church would be forced to perform or to recognize same sex marriage. well, occupy protesters one d.c. government zero. today a federal judge ruled the government must notify the protesters if it's planning to shut down their camp at mcphearson square. the protesters may also be given an opportunity to appeal any eviction plan. the group had been given a deadline to pick up their camping gear and go by noon yesterday but they never moved out and the cops never moved in. their eyes blindfolded. their mouths taped shut all while la county police say an elementary teacher took twisted and disgusting photos of kids

in his class. tonight, mark burnt is behind bars charged with committing lewd acts on nearly two dozen kids between the ages of six and 10. police say the alleged abuse took place in his classroom from 2008-2010. some of the photos show the children with large crckroaches on their faces. others were much worse. >> there was any indication the kids were being fed something through a plastic spoon and the spoon was later sent to a lab and that revealed it was bodily fluids. >> the pure innocence of the child comes to play where they weren't aware they were being victimized in this matter. >> the investigation began last year after somebody processing film gave the disturbing photos to police. the 61 year old is now being held on $2.3 million bond. a severe cold snap has killed dozens of people in europe. officials say at least 58 have died over the last week, many from hypothermia and many victims hopeless people on the streets.

august. but by the end of september his apartment still looked like this. >> you start calling them every day and going, hello, have you left yet? do you have our stuff? >> jay says all united van lines offered the cheapest estimate over the phones a binding quote for a little over $1200 to move him across the country. >> this is 1284 and this is-- >> 4099.81. >> he received this new invoice on his moving day, which included all of these extra charges. >> talk about jacking up the price. >> yeah, i was a little sticker shocked. >> even more shocking? the fact that for months he couldn't get a clear answer as to what happened to all his stuff. >> so you took our stuff to utah and then back to california and then new mexico and the truck broke down and now you took it back? >> they're a problematic mover to begin with. >> the better business bureau's ed johnson says if jay had done

a little homework before he got that estimate he might have made a different decision. >> they have an f rating with the better business bureau. they've had 31 complaints and 80% of the complaints the company didn't respond to. >> but the company will have to answer to the federal motor carrier safety administration at the department of transportation and the agency is investigating complaints against all united van lines. they could even fine them but victims won't see any of that money. it goes into a general fund and that's why it's so important to protect yourself before the movers load up the truck starting with checking into a companies record. by mid fall, nearly 80 days after his ordeal began, the truck arrived, but all united van lines employees would not even begin to unload his belongings until he paid them an additional $1800 in cash. >> i feel like i just had to pay ransom to get my stuff back. >> in all, more than double the

satellite picture radar combined. it's not much of a system but it is producing rain through kentucky and tennessee and the ohio valley. clouds already moving in, a lot of precipitation in western maryland is not reaching the ground just yet because it's so dry but we do run the risk of sprinkles around the beginning of rush hour. most of us won't have a wet commute but some of the west and north will so keep your umbrella handy although we aren't looking at anything very heavy and it appears most of the showers will be out of here shortly after lunch time. still like april, not like february, no doubt about that. these are almost mid april temperatures and cooler and maybe wet thursday, especially south of town and we'll finish the week strong, not as warm on friday, my goodness, you can't keep going into the 60s but i think we will make it into the 50s on friday with sunshine, so overnight, we'll say increasing cloudiness, breezy and mild, one blanket, maybe no blankets. low temperatures in the 40s, winds out of the southwest at 10-15. now by tomorrow morning variable clouds, breezy and mild. a few showers are possible, 40s and 50s, nothing heavy.
