many temperatures after today will be up around 50. sunshine all day long. late this afternoon we may see a few clouds approach, especially in our western zones. 42 at 5:00 with lunch time temperatures near 40 and high in the mid to upper 40s. we will show you what is going on out here, snow showers well to the north. we are watching all this stuff peel away into new england. but out west there is snow. somewhat moderate across missouri. looks like the amount of snow showers tonight or rain showers tomorrow will be few and far between. 16 in manassas. leesburg 26. dulles reporting temperatures around 18 or 24 now.

wind chill temperatures in the teens and low 20s. anything going on monika? >> reporter: there is on the east side of town. first of all, on the southbound side of 270 here at route 85, the accident is sitting on the shoulder causing some slow traffic getting by. just catching that attention there. beyond that a bit slow as you head toward urbana. over on the beltway, outer loop slide, beginning to slow down leaving college park. it breaks loose here, you are going to be just fine with the lanes open on the beltway here. there is an accident reported northbound on i 97. i will keep you posted on that situation as well. we'll take you over to the south side of town, this time on the

northbound side of i-95. no problems to report. we'll take a live look here on the northbound side of i-95 in springfield and on to 35. where again you have a few brake lights to worry about. i'll keep you posted on the situation out east at 6:12. back to you guys. it is back to court. the former university of virginia lacrosse player hugeley is charged with the murder of yardley love. he said he went to love's apartment to talk but she started screaming and hitting her head against the wall. another trial begins today. this one for cornelius williams, accused of killing state trooper wesley brown in june of 2010. brown was working part-time

security at an apple bee's. in just a few hours, five men will try to defend themselves against multiple murder charges. the men are accused of four shooting death and his nine other shootings on south capital street. delia joins us now with more. good morning delia. >> reporter: good morning andrea. the five men have been behind bars. now prosecutors say they have just strengthened their case against these men. prosecutors recently added 30 new counts against the group, bringing their total criminal charges to a staggering 59. the men went on a retaliatory shooting spree that lasted eight days and terrorized parts of the southeast. as a group of young people gathered outside a home just after a friend's funeral.

nine people were hurt there. four people were killed. several guns were used, including get this, an ak 47 assault rifle. this trial is expected to last two whole months. jury selection, which starts a little later this morning, will likely last two days. coming up, i'll have more on what the city did in response to address the underlying issues that lead to this type of violence. mike, back to you. >> thanks delia. delia gonzalez. greece's parliament approved a debt relief bill. the vote happened after massive rioting and looting sweepstakes through the greek capital yesterday. in the worst riot taj in years, 50 police officers were hurt

and 55 protesters were sent to the hospital. as violence continues in syria the arab league is calling for the u.s. security council to create a joint peacekeeping force. saudi arabia's foreign minister said the league cannot standby and watch the violence in syria that killed more than 5000 people. ambassador to the league accuses saudi arabia from living in a state near syria. rope paul is not throwing in the towel just yet. >> do you think mitt romney can beat brome? >> -- barack obama?

>> yeah, i do. i think i could beat him too. >> reporter: santorum says now it is a two person race. mitt romney is the author of romney care. the white house spent most of this weekend defending the change instead of promoting obama's 2013 budget. a burke, virginia woman is recovering after a 70-foot tree fell on her house. it crashed through the roof yesterday morning, pinning her to the floor. it took crews more than an hour to set her free. strong winds are being blamed for causing the tree to fall on the house. the house has been condemned. the virginia department of transportation is investigating whether strong winds caused a 30-foot sign to collapse. it came down on i-66 in

fairfax. it hit a pickup truck but no one was hurt. the department will take the necessary action to make sure it structures -- its structures are safe >> in the next half hour, we'll talk about the significance of greece. as of right now, we all have times when we forget to pay a bill. there is a difference between not paying a bill and avoiding the fact that you are not making it financially. there are a couple of red flags. number one, you don't have much or anything left in your emergency fund. big red flag here. you need to aim for between 6 and 12 months of income stashed away. that may sound like too big of a goal. but consider this.

most bankruptcies happened after a medical problem or job loss. so you have to prepare for the unexpected. number two the publication main street lays out this scenario. you get the mail. there are two bills. you can only pay one at the home. number three, you are making small and smaller credit card payments. the reason why, you can only pay the minimum. if this sounds like you, only use the credit card in emergencies. instead start paying for everything in cash. you may rethink certain purchases. let's say you find yourself in this situation, you have to make some changes. do you need that i phone? do you need that big expensive car? maybe you need to sell a house that you could be afford. it may sound harsh, so it is time to take these reality checks seriously. >> selling a house you know

ceremony with a prayer for whitney houston last night at the grammys general flavor hudson -- jennifer hudson sang i will always love you in honor of houston. according to the coroner, houston was found in the bathtub. there were no signs of foul play. lit any houston's daughter, bobbi kristina has been released -- whitney houston's daughter, bobbi kristina, has been released from the hospital. today her father, bobbi brown, is with her and he requested privacy, especially for his daughter. the other big winner at the grammys, adele. she won all six grammys she was nominated for, including album

and a revealing look at the life as you mentioned when we see you at 7:00. we will be watching. it should be a very interesting and emotional show. this morning the five men police say are responsible for more than a dozen shootings go on trial. a shooting spree left four people dead in a community literally shaken. delia has more on what is expected to be a lengthy trial. >> good morning. it will be a very long trial and an emotional one, in fact. it is very rare five people involved in one shooting all appear before one judge and one trial. that trial expected to last two whole months. prosecutors are telling us the men face a total of 54 charges in connection with the southeast shooting spree that ended with the blood bath on south capital street two years ago. a group of young people were

shot outside a home hours after their friend's funeral. that one shooting brought southeast and the whole city to its knees. it was the single deadliest shooting. and two whole decades in the district of columbia. since then the mother of 16-year-old murder victim bra shell jones worked tirelessly to try to address the underlying issues that lead to such violence like truancy and untreated mental health problems. they are working with the schools in southeast to address those problems. counsel asking offered for students and their parents as we el -- as well in southeast. without the possibility of parole, if they are convicted with all 54 charges against them, the jury selection will begin in just about three hours here at dc superior court. the trial is likely to take two

whole months. back to you, mike. more than 1000 dc residents gathered at washington convention center today for mayor vincent gray's one city summit. >> it allows people to voice concerns about how to make the city better. everyone spent some time brainstorming on ways to make the city more unified, create more jobs and improve schools. it was criticized for its $600,000 price tag. 65:00. time for another your money report. greece is the word. again. >> the reason we care is it has been sending markets on a wild ride. yet again today, markets around the world are reacting to decisions in greece. a deeply unpopular austerity package was approved. the measure clears one of three

hurdles to qualify for a second bailout from the european union. video there of massive rioting and the austerity package cuts minimum wage and approves smaller pensions. it sparked wall street's biggest sell off of the year. but this day wall street looks like it is headed to a rally as well. the average price if a gallon of gasoline has jumped nearly 12 cents. the price of regular stands at $3.50 nationwide. aaa says washington area drivers are paying even more this morning. traditional gifts like candy, flowers and jewelry.

24 chilly degrees here in washington. i 97 north of route 50 near farm road. everything is on the shoulder but you are still going to see flashing lights there. it is causing about a mile and a half delay as you exit from route 50. route 50 itself is not affected as you leafy 97 and head for the beltway. over on to 270 on the map, southbound after montrose road, this accident sits on the shoulder with crews on the scene. i believe it also involves a tractor trailer. i'm going to show you the delays on 270. southbound side, it is very slow and heavy in both main and lanes trying to get past the accident. all the lights are attracting attention. over on the 95 on the northbound side, initial delays from dale
