whole lot. the only advisories and watches we have are far southwest of town, into greene county. we had a watch earlier into culpeper, orange county. all those have been cancelled. here's the reason why. the storm track is tracking farther south of d.c., pretty much missing us in a way. we may see a little bit of snow. the coastal storm is coming through on sunday, but it is trending back south. it's turning out to be a minor snow event as of now. we could still get light, wet snow, maybe up to an inch around d.c. better chances will be south of town. the bull's-eye will be around raonoke, virginia. a little change here could mean a big difference when it comes to having a little or a lot of snow. we'll talk more about the snow and a milder trend coming up. back to you, bruce. >> anny, thanks a lot. breaking news. for two weeks we reported on the problems of teenage drinking in the area.

we focused on the northwest washington liquor store that has allegedly been selling to minors for years. andrea mccarren in her series of reports put a spotlight on that store. she joins us with the latest. >> reporter: hey, sweetie, i'm on the other line on hold. i want to make sure he still has me. do you know? >> we still have you. andrea, go ahead. lacrosse player, george huguely will have to wait until wednesday to learn his fate. there were dramatic closing arguments in an unusual saturday session. court. the prosecutor sobbed both at the beginning and the end of his argument, as he spoke to the jurors about the terror that yeardley love, he says, must have felt. he left the jurors with this. yeardley love's bedroom door, a big hole in it where george huguely's foot went through. that, he says, is not a conversation starter. that is the beginning of terror. george huguely's lawyer painted a different picture. he said george huguely is what you get. he's a boy athlete, not stealthful, not calculating, just stupid drunk. whatever he meant to do, he said he did not mean to kill yeardley love. in charlottesville, bruce leshan, 9 news now.

hundreds of people enjoying a beautiful saturday morning at the georgetown waterfront found themselves in the middle after grisly death investigation. >> reporter: d.c. police and first responders swarmed the banks behind thompson's boathouse after enjoying the pleasant morning came across the unpleasant and unusual sight of a body submerged in the water. >> divers looking along the canal. they were down here. >> reporter: friday night, a report of a person in the water near the boathouse sent police on a search that came up short. saturday morning, the body washed up across from the swedish embassy. now, even as rescue divers got in a zodiac and got ready to retrieve the body on the other side of the bank, detectives began the task of securing the scene. it's not clear, what if any evidence was collected on that scene or near the body.

many tourists and visitors such as these students from the york town high school rowing club in arlington got caught up in a csi investigation that closed off for hours a portion of the waterfront and boardwalk. >> one of the coaches said let's not tell the kids. but eventually, everybody sort of knew. but it was a distraction we didn't need, so many people trying to figure out what's going on over there. it's very sad to see a dead body on the side of a canal behind the boathouse. >> the body has been transported to the medical examiner's office to determine a cause of death. in georgetown, armando trull, 9 news now. former prince george's county executive jack johnson spending his first night in federal prison in north carolina. he reported to prison by his twelve noon deadline today. that's the same prison where convicted ponzi prisoner bernie madoff is serving time. he begins a seven year prison

sentence for taking bribes and kickbacks while in office. last may he apologized to county residents outside the courthouse. >> we pled guilty, we accept responsibility. i'm very sorry for what happened. we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of the lord. >> now, we're told after processing johnson, he'll be assigned to the prison camp facility where he'll probably sleep in a dorm and get a work assignment earning about 40 cents an hour. his wife, leslie, reports next month to a prison in west virginia. family and friends say goodbye to whitney houston today at the funeral services in newark, new jersey. her flower-draped casket lay in the church one week after her body was found in the bathtub of her los angeles hotel room. speakers included stevie

>> which had some technical difficulties earlier. for two weeks we reported on the problem of teenage drinking. we focused on a northwest washington liquor store that has allegedly been selling to minors for years. andrea mccarren and her series of reports puts the spotlight on that store. she's right there to tell us what happened there tonight. andrea? >> reporter: bruce, the owner of town square market is under arrest tonight after a joint operation by the metropolitan police department and abra, d.c.'s liquor control board. 57-year-old richard dan kim of alexander was handcuffed and taken into custody a short time ago after police observed him selling to a 17-year-old high school student. kim was charged with the sale of alcohol to a minor. he is expected to be released later tonight and given a court

date. the 17-year-old who purchased here tonight was with two friends, all of whom are high school students from arlington. that 17-year-old buyer was also handcuffed and taken into custody. he was to be released to his parents later tonight. bruce, as you know, we have been investigating this liquor store since december, as it has allegedly been selling to minors for years. now, montgomery county police have also been watching this store and in recent weeks, have issued 38 citations to minors who bought alcohol here and cross the into the county. finally, abra will now investigate this case and confer with montgomery county authorities. it will then go to the abc board in d.c. to determine what will happen to this store. once again, to recap, the owner of town square market in northwest washington is under arrest tonight, charged with selling alcohol to a minor.

reporting live from northwest washington, andrea mccarren, 9 news now. back to you, bruce. >> andrea, if you know the answer to this, what prompted them to move tonight? i know yesterday you were talking to the deputy mayor, but also it was a week or two ago we went to one of abra's meetings. we talked to them. they said they tried to put somebody in to buy liquor. it seemed like that was the end of it. has something happened within the past 24 hours since you talked to the deputy mayor? >> reporter: i think the deputy mayor promised a thorough investigation. they called us. went in for a variety of attempted buys tonight. police and abra were on the scene simply observing a short time ago, observed a carload of three young men, also 17 and 18- year-old high school students from arlington. there's a telephone pole behind me. officers observed from that point, could see the counter of town square market. they watched the young man go in, buy alcohol, and come out. they stopped him out here in

the parking lot. asked him for identification. he was carrying identification, but it was a photograph and an i.d. belonging to someone else. as you know, there's been a lot of police work done by montgomery county authorities. they've been watching and issuing citations to minors buying alcohol at this store, crossinged border into montgomery county. 38 citations, as recently as last weekend. of course, we have been investigating this store since early december. >> okay, to be continued. andrea mcc people! look at you!

firefighters that was somehow out in the middle of the lake. >> he was giving it his all to stay up. >> as you can see, they were breaking through the ice as they went out there. it's basically, they had to crawl and swim out there to get to the dog. >> the dog was struggling. he was getting close to going underneath the water. he was barely holding his head up above water. once i got out there, got the dog, i gave them the sign and they pulled me back in as quickly as they could. >> the dog is being treated for hypothermia tonight. in a separate incident, two teenagers were rescued from a frozen lake. >> hanging on to the ice shelf was probably about two inches, two and a half inches thick where they were, and shivering, cold. hypothermia was setting in. another few minutes and who knows? >> the firefighter was able to reach the boys and bring them safely to shore. tonight, the two teenagers are said to be doing okay.
