yo yo dieting. >> that's never good. all right, folks. two billion dollars. that's how much unclaimed money is still being held by maryland, virginia and dc treasury. and this cash belongs to ordinary folks just like you. state law requires banks and other companies that handle people's money to turn the unclaimed funds over to the states for safekeeping. that is until the rightful owners, like you, jump up to claim it. so here are some names on the list that have money coming to them. >> you have to reach out to the treasuries to get your cash. they're not going to hunt you down. so if you heard your name or see it running along the bottom of your tv screen tonight, just go over to our website wusa9.com. look under the consumer section. see how to file a claim and claim your cash. it's almost friday and we have a good one. >> we do. it's going to be a good one.

11:17 pm
the showers lift northward as well. so don't be surprised if you hear the rumble of thunder tonight and possibly again tomorrow evening on your way home. here is the deal, windy and warm friday. windy and warm. really windy. it looks like winds are going to gust to 60 miles per hour to the north and west of us. that's where the high wind watch is. frederick county north and west. loudoun county north and west. but even in the metro area winds will be 40 an 50 miles an hour. time frame highest winds should be between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. it will snow west of the divide tomorrow night and we mentioned this earlier. no tt a bad weekend to go -- not a bad weekend to go skiing this weekend as long as you go west. overnight mostly cloudy, breezy and mild. yes, a shower or thunderstorm possible. lows only 50-55. and those easterly winds are going to kick and become southwesterly at 10-20. and when that happens, you'll know the warm front is through us. early shower possible tomorrow morning. then partly sunny, windy and mild. 50s and 60s.
11:18 pm
winds west, southwest at 15-25 and gusty. we are looking at a high wind watch again frederick county north and west. loudoun county north and west. we have a high wind warning west of the divide. that means winds will be 60, 65 miles an hour. nothing in the metro area. but winds are going to be 40-50 whether they issue the advisory or not. when you can do, secure loose objects. do it tomorrow morning before you leave. bring in small tables, small or light chairs and put the basketball hoop on the side that is not sunk in cement. i've seen those go through windows. by afternoon, partly cloudy, windy, warmer. maybe a shower or thunderstorm. now we're talking about a cold front sweeping through. but before it does, 70-75 and winds westerly at 20-40 miles per hour with higher gusts. so we'll break it down. maybe a leftover shower in the morning. 50s. by noon windy. but look at the temperatures. 68-73. by evening maybe a shower with the cold front. temperatures back into the 60s. and real cold air will not get in here until late tomorrow

11:20 pm
but it was also the year they opened the mall. and i have to say, for more washingtonians, the mall was a bigger deal. it had a bloomingdales and lord & taylor and fountains and expensive boutiques lined up on avenues. it was a classic date spot, even if all you could afford was the food court. but the boutiques and the fancy fountains have been gone for years and frankly so have most of the shoppers. in my experience, old shopping malls rarely die a natural death. they're usually assassinated by someplace newer or better or just bigger. and in this case, the former montgomery mall, aka westfield shopping mall is the prime suspect. no doubt the way the mall once took a deadly toll where stores like flag brother shoes once ruled.
11:21 pm
and let's be real, malls inspired a lot of affection but not much loyalty. and by the time they die, we have already moved on. so goodbye. you had a good run. i just wish i could say that we would never forget you. anita. >> oh, very, very well said. not much loyalty is right. not a little tiny store you remember from your childhood. >> no. >> move on to something else. moving on to sports. here is kristen. >> a lot with the maryland and georgetown sa ga is still ongoing -- saga is still ongoing. now another terrapin coach puts in his two cents. plus football player or comic book hero. are these for real? coming up next in sports.
