sexually assaulted yesterday morning. police are looking now for a white male between 18 and 22 years old, he is described as six feet tall with short brown hair. the female student was treated at the hospital after the attack. students are urged to walk in pairs, use the shuttle or the safe ride service. a man was sentenced to six years in prison for child molestation. tommy shelton jr., sentenced friday in court after entering an alford plea. that is when the defendant is not going to admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence for conviction. shelton was a pastor from 1995 to 2000 and 9news now interviewed two of the alleged victims, who were 8 and 12 at the time of his abuse. his arrest raised troubling questions, including why the church brought him to virginia from a congregation in illinois

after multiple allegations involving sexual abuse of boys there. making news now at 43:00 3-rbgs at least nine people were killed in afghanistan after a suicide car bomber struck at the gates of airport. the taliban says the attack on the airport was revenge for burning of the quran, on the heels of two american servicemen who were killed inside a government building in kabul. a u.s. soldier killed talked to his relatives the day before he was murdered. corporal t.j. conrad of roanoke, virginia was one of two killed. he told his sister he was in good spirits over a chat over the internet. >> reporter: a car bomb exploded out the airport in eastern afghanistan early monday. police say the strong blast killed several people, including two airport guards and a

german lawmakers vote today on the rescue package that centers on a new $172 billion bailout to keep the country from going bankrupt. germany's finance minister is urging support for the rescue package but says he can't rule out the country may need more money. internet users are getting savvy. a survey found people are managing their privacy settings more often than they did just two years ago. last year 44% of respondents said they deleted comments on their social network sites. and nike customers are literally fighting over who is going to get the new sneakers. the latest fight broke out in or land dough. marketing gurus say nike should

monika samtani is in with timesaver traffic. >> looking great. in clarks burglary. if you are coming from frederick to the point where the lanes divide, this is what you should expect northbound and southbound on 270. looking great. if you are planning to head over here, i would remind you there had been police activity at 295 at bowling air force base. that's all been cleared up. looking great on the southeast freeway as well. virginia the northbound side of 95 there was an accident near quantico on the northbound side of 95. so you might be distracted by that. here in springfield, everything is fine. we'll go over to 395 and the 1/4th street bridge. diners in fairfax county could be paying more to eat out instead of cooking at home.

the county board of supervisors is weighing a tax at restaurant to help pay for a transportation project. if true the tax would apply for any meals sold at restaurants from fine dianeing to fast food. county officials need $3 billion to meet transportation demands over the next decade. the measure would need approval from the general assembly or as a ballot referendum from county voters. residents did reject a similar plan in 1992. i wonder if they will bring food? fewer children in the district are living in neighborhoods with high concentrations of poverty, according to a recent study by the annie casey foundation. dc still holds a higher concentrated poverty rate than any state, and ranks tenth worst among large u.s. cities. the kids' count study says
