in the mail bag tonight, reaction to a story we did friday on a place called rockland, california, where they are considering a ban on smoking outside even on your own property. darryl from lorton, virginia, says he doesn't smoke, but that sounds like crazy talk. prohibiting someone smoking from one's home is crazy. also producing toxins and carcinogens and in far greater quantities. all in favor of banning those activities raise your right hand. i don't like cigarette smoke, but let's be real.
7:26 pm
this is all sparked by one family that was annoyed with a neighbor for smoking outside his home, but you have to think there was a better way to deal with this than create a new law. and then there was this on the continuing rage in afghanistan against this country over the burning of the koran despite numerous apologies from the president on down. john from lorton, virginia, says something is very wrong with this picture. we mess up, accidentally burn the koran. the president, half the department of defense apologizes and they shoot two soldiers and threaten to kill the rest. since the afghans seem more interested in revenge, perhaps we aught to leave and they can kill each other instead of our troops. i'm tired of all the young men and women who could have contributed to our young society being killed in a foreign land where their efforts were not appreciated. i'm sick of it, too, and i'll bet the president is just as sick of it. but we do have to remember why our troops are there in the first place. remember, afghanistan was a failed state, became a perfect
