the feedback he was getting from the medicus driver, mark was able to slow down his takeaway, and soon he was swinging in tempo and on plane. and when we asked him to hit some more tee shots with his driver, he was like a whole new golfer. no ground balls this time. mark was hitting it long and straight, shot after shot. after practicing with the medicus driver for less than 15 minutes, mark's average drive was 74 yards longer and 22% closer to the target line. >> when it came to taking a look and comparing round one and round two, i was actually very impressed with, with the differences that i saw. just with only a few hits, it still... i can see the improvement. >> you know, hank, i've played in so many pro-ams throughout my career and i've seen every type of swing you can actually see out there on the golf course. but i know we've talked a lot about slicing and things like that. >> right. >> how can the medicus driver really help somebody that might have that over-the-top move, you might say? >> that's a good question, because it definitely can help. let me show you. >> o.k. >> that's probably the most common mistake that you see:
7:31 pm
people take the golf club too much inside... >> right. >> and if you do that with the medicus, you're gonna see the club break down. when they take the golf club too much to the inside, the next thing you know, it causes a reaction where they come too steep and outside. so they're, they're in at the start and then they're out coming down, o.k.? >> and then you see the result with the medicus... >> you see the result. so with the medicus, you can feel a nice, smooth takeaway, get the golf club... on the correct plane back and on a better plane coming through. and that is what amateurs need to do to fix their slice. >> what i have a problem with is a slice. the medicus was telling me that i was coming too far inside and i was coming over the top. after less than 10 minutes, i was able to, to draw the ball, hit it straight with a little draw rather than slice it over into the other fairway... and that was less than 10 minutes. when you put this golf club in your bag, this is like having your own instructor in the bag. >> i don't get a lot of distance
7:32 pm
and i lose control sometimes. the medicus club, it was telling me where i was breaking down, and i had at least three different points where it would keep doing it, then i went down to two points, then it went down to one point. when i did successlly swing it without breaking it, you know, the ball just took off. so i was learning as i was going in a short period of time. every time this thing broke, it was an instant teaching tool. >> if my swing was perfect, then i wouldn't have to use the medicus driver, but unfortunately, my swing's not perfect and i do have flaws in my swing and there's always aspects of my swing that i'm trying to fix. if the medicus driver doesn't hinge, then i know i'm in good position. >> i think that training with the medicus, you can see changes in your golf swing very, very quickly, you know, much quicker than you can really any other way because you get the instant feedback. >> announcer: we asked paul dayton, an 18 handicap, to take the medicus challenge. first, he hit a series of tee shots with his driver. paul showed he had good power
7:33 pm
but two of his first five tee shots were sliced so badly, they hit the fence on the right side of the range and two flew the fence entirely. >> my first balls were, uh, my typical slice and, uh, more or less, i know what i'm doing wrong but i just can't seem to solve it. >> announcer: next, we asked paul to practice with the medicus dual hinge driver and the cause of his slice immediately became apparent. he was coming over the top on his first move down, the classic slicer's swing flaw. >> it gave you instant feedback to, um, you know, how you were swinging wrong and it straightened me out right away. >> announcer: coming over the top can be a hard habit to break, but gradually, the medicus driver taught paul what a correct downswing feels like. and when we asked him to hit some more tee shots with his own driver, paul's new swing produced amazing results. instead of slicing balls over the fence, he was driving them straight down the range. and rather than being 50 yards off the target line, he averaged less than 20 yards. from slicer to straight hitter
7:34 pm
in less than 15 minutes. that's the difference the medicus can make. >> the biggest, uh, improvement was that they went straight and, um, they were what would be in the fairway and so i was, that's what i was happy with, instead of being in the rough as usual. >> in 1992, i saw this medicus five iron come on the market. i was very interested, so i called and purchased one. i'll tell you why: i'm a big advocate of swinging the golf club on plane and they said the medicus five iron would do that. if you didn't, the club would hinge, and it really made me a better ball striker. but today... we got the new medicus driver, and let me tell you something about the medicus driver: what makes this club so unique is that it has a dual hinge system. not only does it help you in your backswing get the club in proper position, but it also shows any flaws in your downswing. if you come over the top, the medicus driver will hinge. that's why you want to purchase one of these medicus drivers. >> announcer: introducing the medicus driver, with a patented dual hinge that can identify every flaw in your golf swing.
7:35 pm
whether it's your takeaway, your backswing, your downswing or your follow-through, if you make a mistake, the medicus driver will immediately break, providing instant feedback and showing you what you need to correct. once you learn to swing the medicus driver without breaking it, you'll know you're swinging in tempo and on plane. you'll get rid of that slice and start hitting longer, straighter tee shots and shooting lower golf scores. specifically engineered for the longer, flatter plane of the driver's swing, the medicus dual hinge driver can improve your golf swing in as little as 15 minutes, and the more often you practice with it, the sooner you'll groove a picture-perfect swing that you can trust out on the course. and, unlike other training clubs, you can actually hit balls with the medicus. whether you use it on the range, in your backyard or even in the parking lot before a round, the medicus driver is like having your own professional instructor telling you when you're swinging wrong and when you're swinginright. you could spend 3-, 4-

7:39 pm
the golf club really try to feel my back of my left hand square. i'm not throwing it with my right hand... >> right. >> and i'm not hanging on too much, otherwise the medicus doesn't maintain its proper position. i'm just gonna try to go ahead and square the back of my left hand up as i'm coming into impact. >> and you hit it... >> that was perfect. >> that was good, solid impact. everything was right at the ball at the right time. >> this medicus driver's unbelievable. >> jack: no question, the medicus can help you develop a better swing. instant feedback is, is the next best thing to having somebody there giving you a lesson. >> you know, it's interesting. every time i approach a practice tee, i'm asked time and time again, "why the medicus training club?" my answer's very simple... it works. and one of my problems, i've been very fast, and this club slows me down, gets me on plane. with those two combinations, it allows me to hit the ball straight and solid... straight right down the middle. >> announcer: can the medicus really teach you to drive
7:40 pm
like a pro? to find out, we brought a foursome of avid golfers to one of the toughest holes played on the pga tour. with water left and bunkers right, it demands a tee shot that combines outstanding length and accuracy to find the narrow landing area. sound difficult? well, when we ask our golfers to hit five drives each, they discovered just how difficult it was. 16 of their 20 tee shots found trouble instead of the fairway. what swing flaws were causing all these mis-hits and missed fairways? well, when we ask each golfer to swing the medicus dual hinge driver, it revealed that troy was rushing his first move down. glenn was off plane at the top of this backswing and so was mike. and debbie was a little too quick off the ball. once the medicus driver showed our golfers what they were doing wrong, they were all able to correct their mistakes within 10 minutes. and when we asked them each to hit five more tee shots with their own drivers, their improved swings produced
7:41 pm
remarkable results. in fact, thanks to one short session with the medicus driver, they went from hitting only four out of 20 tee shots in the fairway to hitting 12 out of 20 in the short grass... a 300% improvement in accuracy. plus, they added an average of 22 yards to each drive, proof that the medicus dual hinge driver really can teach you to drive like a pro. >> if you want to learn to drive the ball longer and straighter, you want to get the medicus driver, because it puts you in the proper positions to make a good golf swing that's gonna produce those results that you're looking for. that's why i use it. >> hey, if you love golf the way i do and you want to get better at this great game, you owe it to yourself to get the medicus driver. it will identify your swing flaws and help you correct them quickly and permanently. so go ahead, call right now and get the medicus driver and start splitting those fairways in no time. i'm beau rials and i'll, uh, see you in the short grass.
