still concerned about the drought. we're under abnormally dry conditions right now. here's a look at exactly where some of the worst drought conditions are. especially out to the west of us, but also you can see right around in our area, it is still abnormally dry where that fire was. now, we need the rain. why? we've already had a drought in the east. we had no snow melt. four to five inches below the average in rainfall. use caution when camping and don't throw those cigarettes out the window. bruce, we definitely need the rain. i'll let you know if we get any coming up in our seven-day forecast. back to you. a virginia homeowner is watching his biggest investment slide away before his eyes. michael dowling bought a home in virginia three years ago, but now a landslide inching closer to his backyard is threatening to swallow up the entire house. he said he did research and found his house is built on fill dirt. he took that information to the

homeowners association seeking help, but so far he hasn't gotten any. >> the pictures that i have found, the historical pictures, there is a stream that ran directly under this lot. they went so far as to tell me they put it out forbid and work would start on it immediately. in november of 2011, they called me into a homeowner's association meeting to tell me they would not fix it. >> you can understand that dowling is not the so confident about finding a buyer at any price. the rest of his family has already moved away to florida. not far away, the austin ridge subdivision faces similar erosion problem last year. several of those houses had to be condemned. secret service scandal is overshadowing president obama's diplomatic visit to columbia tonight. nearly a dozen secret service agents have been brought back to the u.s. amid allegations they brought prostitutes to their hotel rooms in columbia. tonight, white house spokesman jay carney says the president retains confidence in the

secret service. carney adds the incident is under investigation and have had no impact on presidential security but wouldn't comment beyond that. >> i'm not going to have many answers for you on this matter. this is a matter for the secret service to look into. that is what they are doing. i don't have any characterization of this beyond my referral to the secret service for more information. >> well, surae chinn has more on what happened. >> it's the biggest scandal in the history of the secret service. >> reporter: ronald cestler, a secret service insider and author of several books says the scandal was exposed after one of the agents allegedly stiffed a prostitute. >> she complained to the police and prostitution is legal in columbia. they told the state department and the state department told

secret service. >> reporter: soon after, the secret service removed about a dozen agents before the president arrived. >> our tax dollars are at work i guess. >> clearly, they're not people making good decisions. >> hopefully this is a small example and not common in the culture. >> reporter: kessler believes this is not just an isolated incident but a pattern that could compromise the president's safety. >> current agents tell me it's a miracle there has not been an assassination given all the corner cutting going on. you saw the example the salihis being allowed in to crash the state dinner, even though they weren't on the guest list. it's the same pattern of winking, nodding, not following rules. >> reporter: a spokesman says the agents have been replaced and are being investigated over misconduct. >> the process could have blackmailed them to get access to the president. there could have been an

assassination by a terrorist, by a cartel. >> reporter: in washington, surae chinn, 9 news now. >> the investigation also includes five military servicemen. now, the associated press is reporting tonight that most of the secret service agents involved had women in their rooms at the hotel. a.p. quoted new york congressman peter king as saying the women were presumed to be prostitutes, but investigators are interviewing the agents. congressman king was briefed on it because he heads the homeland security committee. a car crashed through the front entrance of a store. the vehicle appeared to be going 50 miles per hour. >> i heard this real loud, like an explosion, like a bomb noise. i turned my head and here came this car come flying in at a good speed. >> two girls pinned between the car and like a potato chip rack. they got the two girls out.

the fateful voi range of the tie -- voyage of the titanic, tonight scores of people came out to remember the lives lost when the ship sank into the atlantic ocean. ken molestina is live in southwest washington where a commemoration ceremony took place tonight. >> reporter: this was the place to be tonight if you wanted to remember history and celebrate this occasion with hundreds of people from across the world. tonight's event was put on by neighbors of this community out in southwest d.c. they did it by themselves with the help of some donations and a lot of volunteers.

♪ [ music ] >> music and crowds lined the southwest waterfront as people gathered to remember the more than 1,500 lives lost aboard the titanic. it was 100 years ago on this date that the ship hit aniceberg and sank. >> it's a sad story, but also a very powerful story. that's why it has such a history even after 100 years. >> reporter: as part of the festive vis, d.c. fireboats on the river performed a choreographed display of water shooting into the air. for many who came out tonight, the ceremony provided an opportunity to preserve history on this, the centennial anniversary. >> to commemorate the bravery, the courage and unselfishness of the men. >> i was actually an officer in the bridge merchant navy. to be here in washington, d.c. on 100 years after is great.

>> reporter: as the night fell upon the ceremony, images of 1912 and the people of the titanic were prominently projected on to the site of this condo building. >> everything from shots of the exterior, the interior, also shots of the passengers, the crew. ♪ [ music ] >> reporter: the evening capped off on a somber tune. ♪ [ music ] >> reporter: a trio on the titanic memorial played the hymn nearer my god to thee. as the history books tell it, it was the last song that played before the titanic went down. >> it was one of these disasters that changed marry time maritime war and how ships were built. >> reporter: this is a group of men every year on the anniversary gather to say a couple of words out here and

there's warm and sunny weather provided a perfect backdrop for the national cherry blossom parade. thousands of people lined constitution avenue to watch performers and marchers in what has become one of the highlights of the entire cherry blossom festival. this is the 100th year and nobody left disappointed today. the parade featured

caught off guard, especially later at night. here's a look as we zoom in. it's showing a line of storms. the good thing about these bow echoes is it's alreadier for tornadoes toform. we're seeing a tornado in kansas. you can see this hail core in kind of the fuchsia, magenta here. this is probably where the tornado is. you can see effecting areas local time shortly within the hour. look at all those tornado icons of tornado reports we've been getting in the last few hours here. with you can see around the wichita area, we had several tornadoes leading up there. you can see we had according to this report a quarter to half a mile wide tornado in the conway springs area. now, in our neck of the woods, we are not talking about any severe weather. we've got some of this green, the light rain showing up on doppler radar. a lot of it not hitting the

ground. a little bit maybe, some sprinkles in the potomac highlands, but we're not going to get a whole lot from this. the air is just too dry. it looks like may be seeing quite a bit of showers out there, but a lot is not hitting the ground. our michael and son weather camera showing we've got cloudy conditions. 64 degrees. it does feel pretty nice out there. the winds have diminished quite a bit. 60 in leesburg. 64, culpeper. temperatures are not cooling down a whole lot. find your summer clothes as the warmth really kicks things up in the next couple of days. 80s on sunday. 80s again for monday. maybe a couple close to 90. will feel more like june starting tomorrow and into your monday. your futurecast a slight chance for a shower, maybe a sprinkle overnight, early in the morning. the clouds will stick around in the early hours but then will clear out and make way for more sunshine by the end of the day. we will make the subpoena make an appearance by the afternoon.
