speakers from within d.c. government may be in the wrong hands tonight. falling into the wrong hand is the fear tonight after d.c. police say a pair of computers was stolen from the auditors office and now they are know where to be found. >> our ken molestina is live where it all went down. ken? >> reporter: those lab tops vanished from the ninth floor of this building in downtown d.c. i got this police earlier today from the police department and according to the information in this document this burglary could have happened anywhere between friday and yesterday. that's a large window in which this could have happened so earlier today we spoke to d.c. mayor vincent gray whose reacting to this major security breach. >> i'm hopeful that our police department will quickly get to the bottom of what occurred. >> mayor gray says he's stunned to hear of the break in. police say a person or persons entered this building on the 700 block of 14th street. they pride open doors to get inside and upstairs and then investigators say the thieves

took two computers from the ninth floor auditors office. >> i hope it had nothing to do with any ongoing investigations. >> the computers taken were dell laptops valued at over $3100 for both but not the monetary value mayor gray is worried about losing but rather the information within those laptops and the auditors handles most of the districts investigations having to do with money and appropriations of funds and now all that classified information is in jeopardy of falling into the wrong hands and eyes. >> having been the chair of the council for four years i know the importance of the office and the work it does and the sensitivity so we're going to work hard to get to the bottom of this and hopefully it was not motivated by somebody who wanted to interfere with an ongoing investigation. >> you heard of d.c. mayor saying he is staying hopeful but the truth here is he doesn't know exactly what that information was within those laptops or who could have taken it. we have reached out to the auditors office as well as d.c. police to get comment on this

particular investigation. we didn't hear back before our deadline. live tonight in downtown d.c., 9 news now. >> ken, thanks for giving us an update. we're also following breaking news out of prince georges county where a church controversy has hit a boiling point. marter matt jablow is live inlandover and matt we're talking about a pretty ugly power struggle here. >> reporter: anita it was quite the scene just a short time ago inlandover where police were called in for crowd control outside the largest and most divided churches. >> been a member for 15 years. >> jessica williams was supposed to be in a bible study class at jerricho city of praise church inlandover. instead she was outside the locked church with dozens of her fellow parishners, fellow angry parishners and after the churches board of trustees fired the city of praises pastor. >> my pastor is a wonderful man of god, his family built this

church from the ground up. >> the firing of pastor peebles caps a two year long feud within the church and the bitter wrangling when peoples mother betty and the churches long time pastor died two years ago. >> what do you think she would be thinking if she were here right now. >> she would be just hurt, crying, because she didn't teach us like this. she would say we have to be one. >> the dispute is not just who will be the churches spiritual leader but who will control its finances. >> they probably want to do a hostile take over because they are only concerned about the money. >> the church reportedly has millions of dollars in assets and the statement released today the churches board of trustees said in part that pastor peebless firing was necessary to pro secretary jerricho and move forward while remaining in compliance with the internal revenue service for 501 c3 religious organizations. >> this is ugly. >> in their statement the board

of trustees also said that today begins a new day for city of praise, but judging from the reactions of many church members tonight, there could be a lot of long and contentious days ahead. derek, anita? >> thank you, matt. well tonight major fall out from that secret service prostitute scandall involving president obama's security detail. three agents now gone. one fired, one retired and a third has simply quit. cbs news reports the scandall began as a dispute between an agent and a woman who spent the night in his hotel room in columbia, the same place president obama was attending an international summit. a top law enforcement official says that agent did not know the woman was a prostitute until she demanded $150. the agent reportedly offered her $30 and that set off an argument that drew the police. a former director of the secret service says everybody on presidential trips is warned about possible security threats. >> one of the safeguards is about tools that a foreign

government can use against our government. prostitution is at the top of that list. >> aside from the three agents now on the outs eight others remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. if there is a rock and roll heaven it just got a new dj. american bandstand host and tv pioneer dick clark has died of a heart attack at 82. that news hit a local mu session hard who called clark a friend. gary nurenberg is here with that. >> reporter: many writers have been giving dick clark credit for introducing black performers to write america, bridging color barriers that made african american acts a rare dity on 1960s television. dick clark helped change that. >> from the jackson 5. >> to stevie wonder and james brown. >> there was no color when it came to dick clark. it was music. >> herb fame rose to fame in peaches and herb, big selling

records with sammy davis but new breaking into white dominated television was tough for african american acts. >> i don't think dick had that kind of mentality, if the music was good, he would play it. >> one american band stand appearance was memorable. >> we became closer when once i was doing a show and i fell through this rise he had and from then on, we always jumped about it every time we saw each other. >> he started american bandstand in philly in 1957- 1989 and the television production, game shows, the golden globes, the academy of country music awards didn't mind the description americas oldest teenager. >> and then you grow up and the minute you mentally atrophy and freeze in time, you are old. >> he hosted new years rocking eve until hit by a stroke in

pay and pensions to pay. >> one area of the state. >> the governor mcdonald says he looks forward to reviewing the spending plan and making any amendments he feels necessary. it is another black eye for the u.s. military. the los angeles times published these pictures in this mornings paper. the two photos appear to show u.s. troops posing with the bodies of afghan suicide bombers. secretary of defense asked the paper not to publish the pictures for security reasons and he is condemning the troops actions. >> i'm not excusing that behavior, but neither do i want these images to bring further injury to our people or to our relationship with the afghan people. >> the obama administration is already dealing with a series of recent incidents that have strained relations with afghanistan. last month an army sargent allegedly killed 17 afghan civilians in a shooting rampage, plus earlier this year, video surfaced of marines urinating on afghan corpses and

the accidental burning of koran that a nato air base sparked deadly riots. allegations of sexual abuse against a young child at a church daycare has some parents pretty concerned. the alleged abuse happened last week at the zion baptist church in northeast. parents tell us the daycare at the church takes care of dozens of kids. police are not releasing any information about the suspect or the alleged victim. a viral video seen around the world now prompting u.s. lawmakers to take action. you may remember this video that's about the african war lord joseph koney and his reign of terror which includes child abductions and widespread killings. well now senator john kerry is pushing for legislation to offer a reward for any information on his whereabouts. rocker ted nugget will meet with secret service agents tomorrow following his bizarre comments at an nra convention. he said if president obama gets re-elected, "i'll be dead or in jail by this time next year."

the so-called motor city madman is known for his views on a number of issues and he claims he's never in his life threatened to kill anyone and he plans to be as supportive as he can be. last night we told you about a horrific crime, a mother shot dead and her baby kidnapped. police in texas say the suspect has confessed. verna mcclain is charged with shooting caleb golden yesterday in the parking lot of a doctors clinic and driving off with her three day old son. the police later found the baby boy safe. a possible motive, investigators say she recently suffered a miscarriage and was desperate to find a baby to claim as her own. a warning from police for people walking in parks and remote roadways in fairfax county. >> over the weekend an attacker grabbed a woman walking on a wooded trail. luckily that woman was able to fight her way free and then yesterday, a pervert slashed a

report, revealing dirty secrets of washington area dining. dead rats and all tomorrow night at 11:00 p.m. moving on to tonights health alert, a new pill currently being tested would prevent hiv infection. the university of california has been awarded $12 million to see how this new drug works. it is designed to prevent hiv from taking hold in someone not infected with the virus, an international trial of the pill shows it has been proven effective in gay and bi-sexual populations considered high risk. we are learning more tonight about what that shuffle at dulles airport will cost the taxpayers. nasa says the bottom line will be $11 million and that costs the cost of the trip. >> now that the shuttle is here the switch is supposed to take place with enterprise some time tomorrow. right now the shuttle is being taken from the 747 jumbo jet. only on 9 tonight, kristin fisher speaks with the crew of

that flame about their amazing flight. >> sca, the shuttle carrier aircraft crew. these are the six men behind yesterdays spectacular flyover. four pilots, two flight engineers and one has been a pilot since the start of the shuttle program but this wasn't any old flight. this was a flight through the nations most restricted air space. >> i think there was one point in the flight where i was looking down at the lincoln memorial and washington monument and we're soon to come up on the white house and i thought oh, my gosh i need to get my camera out but i couldn't because i was so busy flying but that was an awesome site to see. >> i was pretty much trying to do it technically correct, trying to go on the path correct and be at the right altitude and right air speed so i had a little bit of time to in joy the scenery but not a lot. >> i had a chance to go downstairs and look and see the crowds at different locations and on the mall. it was pretty special. >> i'll be honest with you, it choked me up really

fairfax county toward ashburn, as you jump the river back into montgomery county as you go up to 70 down toward rockville but the most part is light and it should be out of here in time for the morning commute. so overnight we'll just say it's going to be chilly, mostly cloudy and showers tapering off, 44-52 and again thankfully light winds, remember last wednesday was like early march. this was like late march. good news milder on thursday, so milder tomorrow and warmer on friday. we'll finish the week really strong and then looks like it will be warm saturday but with showers and then on sunday well rain. but you know what? that's good. that is okay. we need the rain and it does appear the bullseye if it does hit us directly it will be over toward delmarva which is where they need it. in the morning returning partly cloudy and school, grab your shades 40s and 50s, winds still light and then by afternoon partly cloudy and milder, not average in terms of temperatures, average high now about 68 that's where we'll be, high of 65-70 and winds

continue on the light side. we'll break it down. to start a little chilly, 46-52 with leftover clouds and maybe a light jacket a good idea for the kids. by noon, nice, little cool temperatures in the 60s and then by evening milder, partly cloudy and temperatures 66 to about 71, so really a nice looking day. next three days, temperatures go up, mid 70s friday and saturday gorgeous on friday, some showers on saturday, high temperatures again in the mid 70s. next seven days, want to make a tee time for saturday morning rain showers and maybe a thunderstorm sunday, 60, lingering showers monday, 50s monday and tuesday and doesn't stay cool long. sunshine next wednesday with high temperatures in the mid 60s so again we'll finish the week strong but get ready for sunday. >> good warning. thank you, topper. don't tell anybody. snuck up to the sports department tonight to watch the nationals. good choice. >> [laughter]. >> don't hear that too often that you want to watch the nationals, but they have off to

heading into the season there's a lot of talk about the nationals young pitching rotation all hyped for their own strength, but could they live up to it? well so far, yes they have, through 12 games the starters have given up two home runs combined they have an era of 1.70. that is pretty darn good, but they aren't the only ones. davey johnson likes his infield. ryan zimmerman, nice save. another golden glove save for him. he's on fire this season. bottom of the inning nats down and bases loaded astros walk in the tying run and then two batters later, wilson ramos with the always exciting sacrifice fly, nats win 3-2 and go to 10-3 on the season with half games won by just one run. >> former nationals catcher

rodriguez has decided to retire after 21 seasons in the league. the 40 year old is a 14 time all-star and 1999 american league mvp. he spent the last two seasons with the nats making the official announcement on monday. >> the capitols and bruins have taken their jabs off the ice. over the last 48 hours the capitols have voiced their disapproval of the leagues decision to suspend nicholas baxter and they accused the bruins of going after his head. the bruins of course not happy with the accusation but you can make your own sageses, looking at this video but it's pretty telling from monday night. nevertheless, his teammates continue to come to him. >> we felt like he's protecting himself and making sure that guys were taking liberties on him and as a result he gets punished for it. >> i did what i had to do. i think it was stupid on my part and i've got to deal with it now. >> wizards hosting the bucks
