12:09 pm
i'm one-on-one with my delegate, craig zucker from montgomery county. i'm delighted of the him on the show today but maryland lawmakers are on a collision course with holding a special legislative session. what's happening, what didn't
12:10 pm
happen explain it to us. >> well, i think right now on a course to eventually having a special session. we did pass a budget but as a result of passing the budget we're not having any type of revenue package and it went into a doomsday scenario with more than $500 million worth of cuts on top of $800 million that we've already cut. i'm very optimistic we will be called into a special session to help working families. but what we lose in transition is here is always of the good stuff that we -- all the good stuff we did do. we pass a capital budget that creates over 44,000 jobs and we have pieces of legislation that will help the most vulnerable in our community and one of them is the child identity theft lock bill that will provide first time opportunity for parents to actually proactively freeze their childs' credit. >> that's your bill, it's bill 555 is that correct? >> correct. >> let's explain to people why this is so important. >> because right now we see a trend where more than 140,000 minors have been victims of
12:11 pm
identity theft in the united states each year and this bill gives them every opportunity to proactively contact the "consumer reporting" agencies and freeze their child or dependents' credit in an effort to prevent identity theft. >> because generally you don't find out that a child has his or her identity stolen until the child becomes an adult or applies for credit. it could go for years. >> that's exactly correct and it's also a reason why they're targeted because they're inspect and it takes so long to realize that they might have had the identity stolen. this is a way where parents are take this on and i was proud to be a sponsor along with john astel the senate sponsor of the bill. >> a great bill. we're going to keep our eyes open for the special session. it affects of course members of the state. heavily. lot of things could be cut. could be some changes made. so we know you're going to be looking out for us delegates.
12:12 pm

12:19 pm
that the watermen listen to the scientists. >> one of the clearest indications the health of the bay is not a hopeless cause is the rebound of late of this blue crab population. >> in addition to lower prices for consumers, local watermen stand to profit because the huge harvest means fewer crabs imported from other places. good news all around. >> i try to eat them every -- every weekend. and i love the swamp dogs. either jumbo or swamp dogs. oh. it's right up there. it's right up there for me. >> paper on the table and just going to town ripping them apart. >> yes, yes, hard shelled crabs yes. >> saturday morning plans they should be all right. but into the afternoon and evening that's when things will start getting a little dicey and then sunday, sunday could be rather wet especially east and i'll explain in just a moment but this afternoon, looks fantastic. as temperatures will be climbing into the mid 70s. might even see a few upper 70s

12:21 pm
coming up the coast and this track will determine whether or not we see a little rain or a lot of rain on sunday it looks like the heaviest rains will be on the eastern half of the area. whether or not they'll get over to the i-95 corridor or stay away the bay, that's the only question we have. that's the cold front that i was talking about the that is coming for saturday. ahad had of it, southerly flow is going to keep us mild. tonight it won't be in the low 40s like this morning. it will be in the 50s to near 60. and maybe a shower in the mountains and then tomorrow morning, showers well west of us. we start dry so you got some morning plans it should be okay but by midday. out in the i-81 corridor southwestern virginia, there are some showers. maybe some rumbles of thunder that will be increasing through the afternoon and evening hours. this is with a saturday evening with the rain. and then we watch that nor'easter coming off the coast on sunday. some areas could get an inch or two of rain out of this maybe even more depending on the exact track. mid 70s today, 50s to 60s
