pakistan. well, the killing angered many in pakistan. and danielle nottingham reports that some people here in the united states accuse the president of using bin laden's death to gain points with voters. >> reporter: pakistan has not answer some key questions one year after osama bin laden was killed at this compound. pakistani leaders ordered an investigation into whether the terror leader had a support network inside the country. but pakistan is not disclosing its findings and the u.s. says it's disappointed. president obama makes no apologies for killing the al qaeda leader who ordered the 9/11 attacks. >> i said that i would go after bin laden if we had a clear shot at him. and i did. >> reporter: on this first anniversary, the president and his republican rival are trading swipes on the bin laden raid. the president has hinted that mitt romney might not have taken down the terror mastermind. >> i just recommend that

everybody take a look at people's previous statements in terms of whether they thought it was appropriate to go into pakistan and take out bin laden. i assume that people meant what they said when they said it. >> reporter: romney says the president is trying to exploit the anniversary for his political gain. >> let's not make the capture, killing of osama bin laden a politically divisive event. there are plenty of differences between president obama and myself, but let's not make up ones based on well, he might not have done this. >> reporter: romney also commended those who carried out the raid on twitter this morning and applauded the president for green lighting the mission. danielle nottingham, cbs news, the white house. the f.b.i. and department of homeland security issued a joint intelligence bulletin as the anniversary of bin laden's death approached. it warns all law enforcement agencies to be on alert for a possible revenge attack.

however, the obama administration says there is no evidence of a specific threat. federal authorities, however, say that five men have been arrested in an alleged plot to blow up a bridge near cleveland, ohio. the f.b.i. says there was no danger to the public because the explosive devices were inoperable and under the control of an undercover f.b.i. employee. authorities say at least three of the men are self-described anarchists and are not tied to international terrorism. it's because of the one- year anniversary that authorities here in the washington, d.c. area are on high alert. this was the scene this morning near the department of agriculture. first responders rushed to 12th and independence avenue southwest for report of an envelope containing a suspicious powder. it turned out to be harmless. however, officials are not taking any chances. d.c. police are investigating two deadly

stabbings. the first killing happened on quarrel street northeast. the other stabbing occurred a short time later on florida avenue near 5th street northwest. investigators say that the victim in that killing was stabbed in the neck. he lost control of his car and crashed into shore's tavern. he was pronounced dead on the scene. the restaurant suffered only minor damage, and the suspects in both homicides remain at large. prince george's county police are looking for the people who robbed some university of maryland students in their home. according to police, this happened yesterday at an off campus house on curry place in adelphi, maryland. investigators say the three armed men broke into the home, took money, drugs and one of the victim's cars. the occupy movement has not gone away because today it is calling for a general strike in

four specific areas. the occupiers are calling for work shutdowns and blockades in new york, chicago, san francisco, and seattle. organizers are hoping for 30,000 people to join in a march in manhattan today. occupy supporters call this the start of a spring offensive to get their call for economic equality back in the headlines. british lawmakers have released a scathing report about rupert murdoch and the phone hacking scandal that engulfed his media empire last year. murdoch and his son need to take responsibility for the wrongdoing. >> reporter: law makest had tough -- makers had tough words for rupert murdoch. >> he is not fit to run an international company. >> reporter: the much awaited report from a parliamentary panel concluded that murdoch and his son, james, oversaw a corporate culture that allowed the tabloid phone hacking scandal in britain.

it also says murdoch, quote, exhibited willfully blindness to what was going on in his company and publications. >> corporately, they had misled the committee repeatedly about the true extent and nature of the investigations that they claimed to have carried out in relation to phone hacking. >> reporter: the committee does not have the power to invoke sanctions, but this report is expected to bring the scrutiny of murdoch's media empire, including britain's largest satellite broadcaster -- [indiscernible] murdoch came to england last week to defend his image and reassure shareholders he had cleaned up the company. over the past year evidence has emerged that his tabloid newspaper, news of the word, had citizens get stories and hacked their phone messages. murdoch said he was sorry to the victims and british public. >> all i can do is apologize. >> reporter: murdoch's company news corps said it would

respond to the short shortly. the house of commons will decide punishment for three company executives accused of giving false accounts of the phone hacking. more than 40 people associated with the scandal have been arrested so far. murdoch has also paid out millions to settle multiple lawsuits. >> again news corps apologized for the phone hacking scanned arl in a statement -- scandal today in a statement. he shut down news of the world last july. london is gearing up for the summer olympic games. coming up, we'll tell you why some are upset over plans to place heavy artillery in strategic spots. and we'll tell you why investigators are calling a fire at an old new england mill suspicious. we'll be right back.

the tallest building in new york is once again in lower manhattan. one world trade center has surpassed the empire state building. manuel gallegus explains. >> reporter: the recovery in lower manhattan reached new heights with the placement of this steel beam. the first column of the 100th floor of one world trade center now stands at 1271 feet high, 21 feet taller than the empire state building.

>> it's inspirational and it's going to make a lot of people happy. >> reporter: it took a while after september 11 for construction to get started, but eventually at a rate of a new floor every week, the tower started to alter manhattan's skyline. locals and tourists marveled at the structure. the milestone comes close to the one-year anniversary of the death of osama bin laden. >> you're not going to stop america. we're going to rebuild. we're going to keep on going. >> sends chills up and dower your spine when you -- and down your spine when you think about what happened. >> reporter: you get a real sense of just how massive this structure is and how tall it is up on the 47th floor. too a look at the panoramic view. something that's noticeably different from the original twin towers is that the building is all glass. windows floor to ceiling all the way around. the tower is one of several buildings under construction at the site which is also home to the national september 11 memorial and museum. >> it's been an act of passion and an act of patriotic duty.

old mill complex in massachusetts is now under control. the fire broke out in an abandoned mill in attleboro in the middle of the night. the flames could be seen as far away as providence, rhode island. there are no reports of serious injuries. the mill has been closed for many years and so investigators are suspecting arson. a plan aimed to protect the summer olympics is causing controversy in london. the british military says it will place surface-to-air missiles around town to protect the gaiments if terror attack -- the games from terror attacks. it's the first time since world war world war ii that missiles have been deployed in the work. people are just receiving word of the high powered weapons in the area and are not pleased. >> it does raise a lot of questions. >> generally in this country the military don't just announce that air' going to -- that they're going to occupy

baklava which is absolutely great. >> everyone is scared of working with this but you don't have to be. i already put ten layers and put a layer of m.c.i.d nuts with cinnamon and -- of mixed nuts with cinnamon and sugar. we're going to put another ten layers. see how it's falling apart? it doesn't matter. >> you get this -- you didn't buy this? >> i bought it. there are some women who make it. they're better than me. the recipe is on the week site. >> melted butter? >> melted butter. you just keep working. the only sheet that has to be perfect is the one on top. the rest can be torn, shredded. that's the secret to working with this. >> memghted butter and -- melted butter and what else? what kind of nuts are using? >> we use any kind of nuts but i use walnut. you can put almonds, pecans.

and then cinnamon and sugar. that's the mixture. then before you make it, another secret, people think you wait. you cut it. you cut it ahead of time. when you cut it, you just want to cut it in big or as small as you want but the way to make the diamond pieces is once you've got your squares -- there's not enough butter on this. then you cut through the middle of the squares. >> why do you cut it before you bake it? >> because once it comes out of the oven, you have to put a simple syrup. this is one part sugar, one part water. we put -- sometimes people put lemon ruined in there, a cinnamon stick. i put orange ruined. what we do is we take it out of the oven and while it's still hot out of the oven, we pour the simple syrup on top. >> okay. >> this is not fresh out of the oven but what you'll hear is a
