blow up a bridge just outside of cleveland. investigators say they bought what they thought were explosive devices from an under cover fbi agent. those devices were fake. the coconspirators placed them and tried to detonate the devices. >> fbi stresses at no time was the public in any danger. agents started investigating those last october after getting a tip. we are told they are all in their 20s and 30s with no ties to any international terror groups. a bosnian u.s. citizen -- on new york subways. prosecutors say he received al- qaeda training in pakistan before agreeing -- that plot was never carried out. at sentencing, he could get life in prison. the state of a falls church

man accused of molesting three little girls is in the hands of a jury right now. >> i'm peggy fox in arlington where the jury in the gardener case has gone home for the night. it's delivering the fate who is molesting three girls who is at his daughter's sleep over. in closing arguments, the prosecutor told the jury to look at the evidence against michael gardner. the dna evidence on an interior crotch of one girl's underpants with a match to gardner of 1 in 20quadrillion. they came here with no motivation to lie to you. he implied because its gardner's house, his dna is everywhere. he said that there were 67 inconsistencies in the girls accounts and poor police work. he asked why was michael gardner throw his life away and

do this? if gardner is convicted of all counts, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. maryland's attorney general is trying to halt a court ruling that strikes down part of a state law, which allows police to collect dna from people charged with violent crimes. governor martin o'malley says the law helped solve crimes and help the public. now the state court of appeals does not reconsider, he plans to file an appeal all the way to the u.s. supreme court. a followup tonight on a story we have been pressing for us to cover. 9 wants to know what's going on with the investigation into a deadly police shooting in culpeper, virginia, so today we sent a reporter to try and find out. >> i'm kristin fisher outside the town of culpeper police department where an officer here is still on paid an mid administrate eve administrative leave. >> i think it's a cover up.

spring. this began to unfold shortly after 2:00 this afternoon in the 2800 block of terrace drive. montgomery county fire captain tell uses the fire appears to have started if the attic of one of the buildings and quickly spread. we're told no residents have been injured. one firefighter did suffer some serious, but nonlife threatening heat related injuries. that firefighter was transferred. another firefighter suffered minor injuries. again the cause of the blaze is still under investigation. newt gingrich released a video on his website today thanking his supporters and it comes one day before he says he will officially end his presidential campaign. >> i wanted to thank you personally and let you know that when we do announce officially on wednesday, suspended campaign. it will be with great thoughts of those who were with us side by side all these months and i want you to know without you, none of them would have been possible. >> gingrich has an echt planned for tomorrow in
