>> gunfire breaks out at the subway. tonight, two people are being treated for injuries while police are asking questions of two suspects they say were behind the shooting. it all happened earlier today at the rockville montgomery station. >> ken is live there with more. ken. >> reporter: this all happened in broad daylight in front of dozens of metro riders. this suspected shooter did know one of his targets. the 16-year-old. the second person, an 18-year- old woman just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. what has so many people concerned and upset out here tonight is that those involved seem to be either teenagers or young adults. 9news was there on the ground when police arrested the shooting suspect. he isn't being identified by name, but investigators say this youthful looking male is responsible for opening fire inside the tunnel of a crowded metro station. he took off on foot and was caught at a gas station just blocks away. >> pulled the guy, put him to

the ground and yelled at him, don't move. and all of a sudden, commotion kept going. >> hours later, a second suspect would be taken into custody. investigators say the gunman shot his 16-year-old target in the league. the 18-year-old woman who was at the wrong place at the wrong time was grazed by another round. both are expected to be okay. police and metro riders alike are stunned by what happened here. >> it's ridiculous. the whole world has gone nuts. >> i don't know if it's because of money or whatever, but it shouldn't happen. >> metro riders who commute in and out of the rockville metro station are left fearing something like this could happen again. >> you never can tell what can happen. >> you hold your phone with your fist. you keep an eye on everything and you pray that you will get there. >> back out live here, police are not identifying anyone involved and they aren't giving a motive behind the shooting.

agonizing position to amputate her hand and remaining foot. she underwent that procedure today. her body is under attack by a vicious flesh eating bacteria. the tiny invaders entered her thigh when she suffered a cut during an outing on a river she fell from a zip line. they are awe struck by amy's on going courage. in a few hours, a private spacecraft will launch bound for the international space station. the dragon cargo ship built by space x will carry food and equipment to the astronauts. it is scheduled to blast off tomorrow morning at 4:55 and will become the first commercial spacecraft to dock with the space station. should servicemen and women be exempt from gun laws in the district? according to the d.c.ist, republican congressman of georgia submitted an amendment yesterday that would allow members of the military to carry firearms in public. current law allows guns inside the home, but not outside. >> imagine seeing the final moments of your child's life on

video tape. trayvon martin's mother experienced that horror last night when she watched this surveillance video from a convenience store. we still do not know who started the confrontation that began as martin was talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone. here's what she told police. >> what did you hear trayvon saying? >> what are you following me for? >> what are you doing around here? >> some of the cases most important evidence is yet to be made public, including zimmerman's three interviews with police and his cell phone records. zimmerman sent text messages with offensive language about the leaders of a justice for trayvon rally. same sex couples have the right to get divorced in maryland, even though the state doesn't allow them to marry. a prince georges county judge must grant a divorce to a couple married out of state, but now wanting to separate in maryland. same sex marriage becomes legal in maryland in the year 2013.
