statement urging nations fighting in afghanistan to follow france's lead and pull their international forces from the war this year. it seems gop presidential hopeful mitt romney is having trouble convincing every conservative in the republican party he is the man for the job. tens of thousands of conservative donors who backed his gop rivals have been slow coming to his aid. last month romney raised $40 million but only a landful of his recent continue bias came from donors to his former primary challengers. despite many protests and statements from attorney churches in our region, the naacp is publicly endorsing same sex marriage. later in baltimore the leaders will explain why. >> sue ray chin got reaction from african-american church goers. >> reporter: the most vocal are african-american clergy and it is causing a division among

support of gay marriage by the maryland legislature. president obama and now the naacp. this weekend the naacp says civil marriage is a civil right and a matter of civil law. >> i would say anyone that was gay, whatever, could come to the church. if you wanted to actually join and take full membership, then you say i believe like you guys believe. >> reporter: at a time when people may be seeking guidance on the institution of marriage from their church leader, some say they are going by their value values. >> it is not who you with, it is how you treat one another. >> reporter: same sex marriage in maryland has been signed into law and takes effect next year. opponents are working to force a referendum on same sex marriage on the november ballot. that naacp press conference is set for 10:30 this morning.

montgomery county police are investigating an apparent murder suicide in silver spring. officers discovered the body of a 39-year-old man and his wife. the couple was found in a house on colgate way. a police spokesman said both bodies showed signs of trauma and a note was left in the home. the couple anames -- couple's names have not yet been released. a prince george's man is facing charges after he crashed early saturday morning. officer daniel gonzalez was off-duty at the time of the crash. officer gonzalez had a breath alcohol level of .13. he has been released on his own recognizance. the state's attorney office is reviewing the case. police in college park are searching for three suspects now wanted in an armed robbery early saturday morning. the victim was flagged down by a man who showed a handgun and

then got into the victim's car, forced him to drive to stanford street where two others were waiting. the victim was robbed of cash and personal property. if you have any information, please contact prince george's county police. we now know the names of two teenagers charged at a shooting. two people were wounded friday afternoon in the shooting, 17-year-old kevin nguyen and 16-year-old devair harris have been charged. the shooting may have been due to a dispute with one of the victims. the 16-year-old male and 18-year-old female victims were treated at a hospital but are expected to recover. a riot at a privately run prison in southwest mississippi has left one guard dead and five others, and one inmate injured.

the prison mostly holds illegal immigrants charged with reentering the united states after being deporteds. deron robby was convicted of taping his roommate. on friday john edwards' jurors spent the day considering whether the former presidential candidate broke campaign laws by using donor money to cover-up an extramarital affair. jurors did not hear from edwards or his former mistress riel hunter. our time is 4:37. we hope you enjoyed the weekend because we are in for an

shoulder before duke street and obviously traffic is light. northbound 3-9d 5 is also good between the beltway and the 14th street bridge. coming up in my next report, we'll go into maryland. time for the first your money segment of the morning. jessica doyle, facebook was supposed to take off like a rocket right? >> so much for that. it is going to finish pretty much where it started on friday. the company, of course went public friday with an offering price of $38 a share. it jumped 11% but that sank down by the end of the day 23 cents higher than it opened. that surprised a lot of investors on wall street, analysts were expecting a big jump, on the big day, which has been the pattern with a lot of previous internet stocks. so this frenzy over facebook didn't do much for the stock market which has been in a big

slump. the dow dropping at 11. checking the numbers it is down about 6%. 12369 lost 73 points in trading on friday. nasdaq was down 39 points. one of wall street's biggest concerns is unemployment, but the labor department says the labor market, rather is showing some improvement. unemployment fell in two-thirds of the last month. in many states the jobless well below the national average. nevada continues to report the highest unemployment rate at the nation. in just a few days ago, we told you about general motors pulling its ads from facebook. now it is leaving the super bowl . it says it simply cannot justify the cost. this year the company spent more than $3 million for a 30 second commercial and the price is going up for the next game. >> it is interesting right?

wanted to say good morning. we are glad they are joining us. >> amazing how many people are up at this hour. you need to know that it is a little wet in spots this morning. got a lot of drizzle. some areas are just plain old sticky. then we have some showers as well. we'll look at radar in just a moment. at the bus stop obviously we are talking threat for showers and drizzle, temperatures are comfortable, in the 60s. it is a muggy morning out here with sunrise real early. sets at almost 8:20 right now. our day plan soldier going to be a cloudy day with occasional showers and thunder possible. winds northeast to east as we head into the afternoon, with a mid to late afternoon high of about 75 degrees there at 4:00 p.m. so it is not going to be raining constantly, but may be tough to get stuff done outside. this morning fairly quiet west of town, but you can see the

flow coming in off the atlantic. showers coming in from the east southeast to the northwest. offshore, quite a bit of lightning showing upright now in that area of showers and storms. locally, we have been watching this area of rain coming out of charles county and even over toward colonial beach move north and west. live doppler 9 hd. around springfield where 395 and the beltway come together. look at this from woodbridge in eastern fairfax county now. down toward quantico, this is all moving off ward the west northwest. down toward manassas, you can be seeing this rain head your way in the next 20 to 30 minutes. and showers may sneak in heading toward national airport. temperatures this morning running uniform in the low to mid-60s. cool spots like winchester and
